  1. Paper by Barabasi & co-authors describes the 50,000 or so phytochemicals as “the dark matter of nutrition” which are “largely invisible to both epidemiological studies, as well as to the public at large” https://www.nature.com/articles/s43016-019-0005-1
  2. @Snader @PepperBlossoms @Brittany @Striving for more @Ya know THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR RESPONSES THIS MEANS A LOT TO ME AND YOU GUYS MADE ME FEEL SO MUCH BETTER.
  3. @Striving for more I have taken Armodafinil (almost) daily. Armoda is more potent than Moda and lasts longer. I haven't had any issues with sleep (keep in mind that i'm a light sleeper and have struggled with insomnia in the past). I can say that consuming sulforaphane (from brocolli sprouts has helped me flush away caffiene and Armoda by the time i'm in bed. it will prolong the onset but it won't shorten the half-life (duration). So actually eating it with a meal might be worse because it will take more time for it to kick in but it won't change the duration. If you are also sensetive to caffeine, then your body is probably not effecient at detoxing. That's why you should look into Sulforaphane as it is the most potent natural inducer of Phase 2 detoxifaction enzymes. Try it, its cheap.
  4. Dark chocolate contains theobromine, it contains only trace amounts of caffiene. It has an effect similar to, but lesser than, that of caffeine in the human nervous system. Even without dietary intake, theobromine may occur in the body as it is a product of the human metabolism of caffeine, which is metabolized in the liver into 12% theobromine, 4% theophylline, and 84% paraxanthine. In the liver, theobromine is metabolized into xanthine and subsequently into methyluric acid. Important enzymes include CYP1A2 and CYP2E1. Modafinil is metabolized via Hepatic (primarily via amide hydrolysis; CYP1A2, CYP2B6, CYP2C9, CYP2C19, CYP3A4, CYP3A5 Caffeine is Primarly metabolized by : CYP1A2 , minor metabolizim CYP2E1, CYP3A4, CYP2C8, CYP2C9 There are enzymes that metabolize caffeine/theobromine and modafinil. If these enzymes are deactivated then you will have more of the drug in your bloodstream. I suspect a lot of people have issues with caffeine mixed with other drugs is because they have low detoxifacation enzymes . Not talking about weight gain; I'm talking about metabolizing and excreting compounds. This may be your issue. Other than both being stimulating in different ways (CNS stimulation/caffeine), there are no dangerous interactions. Tips: If you want to metabolize drugs more effectively, try eating cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, or even better, broccoli sprouts. They contain a phytochemical called Sulforaphane that has been shown to increase phase 2 detoxification enzymes.
  5. "Nothing lasts." "Everything is impermanent." "Nothing lasts for even a second." "Reality is always changing." "Change is the only constant." These are some out of many insights people have said regarding the nature of form/reality. My question is: if the universe is absolute infinity, wouldn't that entail that form can be permanent? If not then wouldn't that limit the universe, thus negating the quality of being absolutely infinite? If you say there is no difference between form and formlessness, then by saying form is impermanent you are defacto saying formlessness is impermanent.
  6. I wrote my domain of mastery to be self-development. I define personal development is much more intellectually oriented (requiring knowledge of psychology, philosophy, neuroscience, nutrition, science). I pursue the truth for its own sake, but I also love using knowledge to improve my Self. I realized that my zone of genius is doing in-depth research on different fields and synthesizing knowledge. So my question is, can synthesizing knowledge be considered a domain of mastery? or should I stick with personal development?
  7. Nutrition, Pharmacology, Neuroscience, Philosophy, Psychology. My interest in nutrition has helped my body & brain beyond anything honestly. I literally feel more intillegent and more energetic/focused. My interest in Pharmacology and Neuroscience made me explore different supplements and phytochemicals that have become a part of my daily regimen. They also incited me to explore psychedelics and tap into states of consciousness that were unlike anything I could imagine. That too was an important healing phase of my life Neuroscience/Psychology/Philosophy is for healing my mind. Getting better at socializing, understanding myself, other people, and the nature of reality.
  8. For those who use the term "dopamine detox" loosely, then this isn't intended for you. Dopamine is one of the most misunderstood neurochemicals. Many people have the idea that dopamine is the reason for all their bad habits and addictions. While this is partially true, dopamine is not just about reward. And it is not possible to lower dopamine by (((detoxing))) as these neurotransmitters are continuously regulated to achieve homeostasis in the body. It would be dangerous if you actually could lower dopamine, so that's a good thing. The same amount of dopamine will be released every single day; the choice is, what will you spend it on? https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/dopamine-fasting-misunderstanding-science-spawns-a-maladaptive-fad-2020022618917
  9. Why do stage blue religous people act immoraly and spread evil when they are supposed to be the stage of morality and order? Why do stage orange materialist act in ways that damage their material body (pesticides, pollution, junk food) and the earth in which they depend when they are suppose to be the stage of materialism and results-driven? Green isn't any different, it uphold relativism and distains ultimate truths, yet the claim that everything is relative is a statement of an ultimate truth. The reason is people are unconscious about how they hold their values, and so they often fall in the trap of commiting or creating something which is the opposite of what they believe or want.
  10. What purpose do the senses serve? If reality is a giant mind, if everything is consciousness, and if reality is mental. Then why do we have eyes that seemingly are designed to look "out there." What is it out there I am looking at? Alan Watts said, "One might say that the magic of the brain is to evoke these marvels (light, sound, heat) from the universe, as a harpist evokes melody from the silent strings." Is this the purpose of the senses? To evoke from the immaterial emptiness, the "material" world?
  11. So I've come to realize that my domain of mastery is Self-Development. I do define Self-Development rather broadly. Integrating many fields such as philosophy, psychology, nutrition, science, mysticism, etcetera. They all come together to initiate the Human(self)(ego) development process. My question is, what can you become by mastering self-development other than a self-help guru? The self-appointed, self-help gurus, who self-proclaim all manner of dubious and fantastical claims have run amock. The industry is extremely saturated. The material that circulates from the self-help subcultures is shockingly trite. Nothing more than recycled and regurgitated adages, masquerading as the pinnacle of wisdom and the highest source of truth by the avant-garde themselves. The industry is rife with unethical behavior. The self-industry has existed for hundreds of years, I'm under no illusion that it will dissipate and crumble anytime soon. We are living in times where distrust in authority and academia is at an all-time high, so the demand for it will most likely increase However, The lack of integrity in those in the industry seriously turns me off Its lack of originality makes me suspect that something new is needed. The self-help industry far from being the antitheses of academia, has become the other side of the same coin of the ideas industry. Instead of dogmatic, close-minded scholastic pedagogy, they have become unscholarly, irrational, dogmatic anti-academics. I do not want to be part of bullshit "education" (school/university/cheesy self help content) I do not know if this is relevant. But I live in the middle east where stage blue\orange self help material is the only one the people are interested in (I am green/yellow). Thank you.
  12. You're right man. My #1 limiting belief is precisely this. That people and the industry at large won't accept what I have to offer. challenge accepted
  13. Dude, this really got me thinking. Thank you. I understand this topic better
  14. Ok guys/gals, so I was brought up as an extremely religous Muslim, became a hardcore skeptic/rationalist. I felt hollow and was looking for deeper meaning, then stumbled on Leo's videos, began the process of spiritual/personal development. I started to read more on telepathy and was convinced that it may be possible. Though I still didn't believe it, because I still had/have vestiges of rationalism/scientism. A few months later, I had a telepathic experience with my girlfriend on psychedelics... Yesterday, I was listening to a random playlist on Spotify. I was walking and contemplating, then I halted and stood still, took a deep breath, and became conscious of how much I desire enlightenment. I desired to understand so much. I took another deep breath and tried to let go (all the while random songs were playing). Then when I exhaled a song played.... The first lyrics were: What you are seeing and hearing right now is nothing but a dream You are dreaming right now, in this moment You are dreaming with the brain awake Dreaming is the main function of the mind And the mind dreams 24 hours a day I got goosebumps. This was my first time hearing this song, it wasn't my playlist, and my phone was on shuffle. What is this? For the sake of brevity, I am only listing two examples. This has been happening way more than it used to in my life. What is this? The song is called The Four Agreements - Martin Roth Beat
  15. I've tried LSD many times, it does not induce mystical experiences (to me). DMT /Ayahuasca does that way more to me. What I absolutely love about LSD is its ability to make me introspect and contemplate the most mundane of things and realize how utterly complex and lucky I am. I'll elaborate; When I take a shit, I realize how complex the toilet drainage system and the sewage system is. How lucky I am to have this modern infrastructure. I go to the fridge, stare at the soy milk, contemplate how many people had to work (farmers, truck drivers, business employees) / the complex infrastructure, and supply chain that ultimately brought this Belgian product to the deserts of the Middle East. You get the idea, everything seems so huge and complex. My phone, my books, my laptop. Life is truly massive
  16. @SamueLSD , It is definitely much more ego friendly than Ayahuasca. Never tried shrooms. Haha yes! I feel the same.
  17. @LastThursday , I understand that the brain/senses play/s a role in localizing consciousness. Otherwise, we would be overwhelmed with the sheer magnitude of experiences that we would dissolve into a soup of nothing and everything. The psychedelic experience seems to delocalize consciousness, and thus by a decrease in brain activity, we experience a state of heightened consciousness. Since everything is consciousness, then, of course, certain manifestations of consciousness (brain) correlate with changes in pure conscious experience. "Yet, that mind states are correlated with brain states does not necessarily imply brain states cause mind states. . Assuming so is a known fallacy in science and philosophy called the 'cum hoc ergo propter hoc' fallacy." -Bernardo Kastrup Anyway, I know you probably know all of this, lol. I'm just letting you know my position on this matter. Now, the question still remains. Yes, the senses are held within consciousness, but why do we have them in the first place. Why have bio-organic machinery designed to detect (taste, smell, etc.) If the objective reality does not exist. Can't we simply detect vibrations without needing anything? I'm not sure. My guess would be, the reality is cosmic consciousness and we (individual ego) are simply little fragments situated within this cosmic consciousness. This is why the ego can't think things into existence or alter reality at will. Because the cosmic consciousness is much larger than the egoic mind. So consciousness is localized inside the brain/senses, and our ego is localized within that. The senses detect the cosmic consciousness that is "outside us." Which is an illusion because cosmic consciousness also entails that which outside as well as inside. It's a twisted mind fuck.
  18. This has been my observation. LOL. Sorry because it's long. Interesting; appreciate the reply
  19. This article shows how utterly massive nutrition is. We are only in the beginning stages of understanding compounds ( phytochemicals, vitamins, amino acids, etc.). And their effect on human health. Very interesting. Anecdote: One of the reasons I feel better on a plant-based diet is, I believe, because plants, more than any other organism, produce an abundance of these benificial compounds.
  20. What are/were the biggest self-deceptions in your life? How did you detect them? How did you correct them? What do you expect is a current self-deception you hold and will discover years from now?
  21. By now, Leo has shown me how necessary direct experience is to find the truth. But I have a question, or actually, more like a doubt. We know conscious experience is correlated with (BUT NOT CAUSED BY) brain activity. I have never had direct experience with molecules or neurotransmitters. Suppose I was born an alien with a mix of a highly complex brain and an even more expansive state of consciousness. In that case, I could, perhaps, have a direct conscious and instantaneous experience of molecules and neurotransmitters. Something I can't know as a human. Does this thought experiment show that although direct experience is accurate, it is also limited?
  22. @Leo Gura , Yes I am aware that I'm conscious of them as concepts, but my analogy was about becoming conscious of them not as concepts but as forces of nature, very directly. Like watching a thunderstorm, or feeling the heat of the sun.
