  1. Russia - the country of military aggression, corruption, authoritarianism, desinformation, undermining of democracies, mafia, political assassinations, doping and cheating in sports. Feeling the need to spend a lot of time defending such a country, says a lot about your priorities. Not surprisingly, you can see the same guys defending Trump and MAGA. Some people just want to watch The West burn.
  2. And Hezbollah. Such a fascinating country!
  3. Nearly all his posts are filled with junk from social media, so I wouldn’t rule it out completely.
  4. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck etc.
  5. It’s not like I need it every time I socialize. I only need it for the first date specifically. But yeah, it doesn’t feel too good, and I don’t recommend autism at all. It makes socializing a living hell.
  6. I second this. I’m autistic and dating is basically impossible for me without alcohol. I've tried with and without enough times to know.
  7. People who are pro-Palestine really aren’t doing themselves or the Palestinians any favors by defending Russia…
  8. How on Earth did you not see this coming?
  9. Couldn't agree more. I find the majority of advice in this area quite absurd. It's so focused on you acting as cool as possible. Isn't there an almost sacred rule that the cooler you try to be, the less cool you become? The only thing that's ever worked for me is being myself. If I go on a date with some agenda that I should behave in a certain way, it will be a failed date at least nine times out of ten.
  10. Bullshit. Back when I was in my pickup phase, my wingman was a tall, white, good-looking extrovert — but he didn’t have much more success with women than I did, which wasn’t exactly anything to brag about! Even when you do have a few valid points, they’re completely overshadowed by how ridiculously you exaggerate everything, and you’re just making a fool of yourself. Please stop, for your own sake.
  11. Now that I've turned 30 and still haven't managed to create any new lasting friendships as an adult, it's really time to start working on getting new friends and preferably a whole new large social circle. If there's anyone here who has succeeded with this, I would love to hear about your experiences!
  12. In my experience, even friends you have little to nothing in common with are a blessing. I tried living without the friends I have now and it became completely unbearably lonely in the end, and I'm a mega-introvert. Thank you!
  13. Tell me about it! Nearly all my friends are fathers now. Like lack of common interests weren't bad enough...
  14. That shouldn't be too problematic to achieve. You're young, funny and intelligent!
  15. Instagram and TikTok is where I draw the line. I find those really toxic. I actually have friends, so I'm not that desperate. My friendships are from very long ago though and we don't have too much in common anymore to say it the least. Of all the dating apps, you had to mention the one I'm banned from! Such a shame. Bumble is by far the best one. Writing is my life purpose, so I should eventually find some kind of community there, but I'm such an amateur and don't have nearly enough confidence for that yet!
  16. You're on to something here. There's simply too many other terrible things going on in the world at the moment. The 2020’s are a pretty grim decade.
  17. To be fair: Reddit is not the nicest place to be. Pretty much all the subs there are echo chambers with very little tolerance for different perspectives. I created my first Reddit thread the other day, which was just an honest, completely non-offensive question, and I got a lot of downvotes for no apparent reason…
  18. "I've had some bad experiences on Reddit, so now I have a free pass to behave like a bitter and hateful asshole." And I thought I was immature…
  19. Do you think any black-and-white thinker don't think like this? Your statement is on the same level as claiming that all black people are criminals. Grow up. Like this, you mean?:
  20. One thing is for sure: I would choose a vegan 10 out of 10 times over anyone who is so generalizing and judgmental that they can justify to themselves writing something like this...
  21. According to the Danish newspaper Weekendavisen, vegans - who make the greatest sacrifices for animals and our planet - are the most hated minority after drug addicts.
  22. @Aaron p Yeah, even though the IRA were pretty terrible, the Irish have my deepest sympathies in this conflict. The British treatment of the Irish has been unreal. It makes you wonder whether things like Ian Paisley being born and Bloody Sunday happening were actually a series of unfortunate events that triggered The Troubles, or whether similar things would have happened and triggered it anyway…
  23. Northern Ireland is the most fascinating place on earth imo. Even though I've seen amazing documentaries about it again and again, I can never understand how something like The Troubles could happen in that part of the world in such modern times. It's absolutely insane.
  24. WOW, has this movie aged well! Adam Scott’s character is so spot on. The immaturity he represents and gets away with, is such a huge social issue in the US. Just look at what’s happened to the country since then…
