  1. It's thoughts. You're gonna get used to your voice don't worry.
  2. @Apple Juice The major change is not in the voice but in the perceptual filter. Your voice is alien because it's not you. Congrats! Now "nobody" is talking ?.
  3. @Nahm I prefer ease, speed and efficiency because it's a chore (for me) and I'd rather not eat at all if I didn't have to. So a chore is something I need to do, without expecting real pleasure from it.
  4. @Apple Juice Get a subliminal audio that makes your voice have a higher pitch. JK. This is gonna fix itself if you relax and don't panic about your voice. Also, what makes you panic is that you were attached to your voice. There was a little bit of "you" in your voice and now you realised there's no "you" in voice. It's possible that mainly the perception of you voice changed. It's like if you look in the mirror you either see yourself uglier (or prettier) than you are. That's because the perceptual filters are active. Don't worry, you're not possessed by Morgan Freeman's father.
  5. @Nahm No, it's because it's easier and faster to prepare.
  6. @Nahm because processed food feel weird in the body and cycling because i like nature, but I don't like being slow in nature
  7. @The0Self Hey I somewhat followed your advice. I focused on the pain and mudras. For 1h I noticed something weird. Sometimes I dropped into equanimity, and the pain disappeared for the duration of that white-cotton-equanimity. Just all the way gone. And then after 30 seconds, it came back. Also I noticed that sometimes the sensation of 2 fingers touching (mudra) disappeared for a longer while. I'm not able to maintain a good posture, it seems like milimeter by milimeter I start slouching, without noticing it. Fascinating was also: when I stopped and sat back, I could barely feel my body and dropped into equanimity and was about to fall asleep in a few seconds. Weird. @Nahm Probably processed foods, I'm not someone who enjoys eating that much. I'm more of a tea-drinker And cycling. Why those questions?
  8. Facebook: Awakened Kundalini support group I've been through K once, feel free to chat with me.
  9. @Consilience Thanks, great advice. I like him, he's probably 10times more enlightened than he would admit. Daniel Ingram couldn't even get him to talk about his own perception of his enlightenment.
  10. @The0Self I'm gonna try that tommorow. Gonna aim for 1h30min. Let's see what's gonna happen.
  11. @The0Self I can zoom out of the senses into equanimity while meditating or while my skin burns in the sauna. I already got insights into what turns pain into suffering. I've taken thousands of cold showers. It's the minds:"Oh I don't wanna do that, it's gonna be uncomfortable" and "what do I do about it" thoughts that makes pain into suffering. I have back/neck issues that I'm worrying about, it starts hurting right away when SDS, so I want the "Am I physically hurting myself" thoughts out of the equation. Can you give me clearer instructions? First equanimity asap before pain shows, or from pain into equanimity? Ignore/still the mind, or observe it's reaction, and it's reaction to it's reaction?
  12. @Carl-Richard -Priority monism states that all existing things go back to a source that is distinct from them; e.g., in Neoplatonism everything is derived from The One.[1] In this view only one thing is ontologically basic or prior to everything else. -Existence monism posits that, strictly speaking, there exists only a single thing, the universe, which can only be artificially and arbitrarily divided into many things.[2] -Substance monism asserts that a variety of existing things can be explained in terms of a single reality or substance.[3] Substance monism posits that only one kind of stuff exists, although many things may be made up of this stuff, e.g., matter or mind. -Dual-aspect monism is the view that the mental and the physical are two aspects of, or perspectives on, the same substance. I think those are closer to my beliefs.
  13. @Leo Gura If all you can know is mind, doesn't mean that you can know everything as mind. Now you're gonna say that there's nothing outside of mind, because the abstract notion of "outside of mind" is a thought inside of my mind. What I mean is: Obviously how the mind imagines external-reality is ILLUSORY, but it doesn't mean that it's non-existent. IMO you go one step to far, I would just say: "All there is you CAN know is mind". What am I missing?
  14. @GreenWoods Sam Harris is a "monist". He thinks that reality has to be one, but doesn't go as far as saying that one thing is me/consciousness. I guess that most scientists are not dualists, but they just model everything (including monism) and they can't help it.
  15. According to Daniel Ingram, a lot of very advanced spiritual seekers get trapped in the formless jhanas and meditate on it for hours every day and can't let go of it. He mentioned that someone he knew spent 20 years in infinite consciousness, without realising that he is in a prison and nobody could tell him that it's a trap because he wouldn't want to accept it. The issue is apparently that those states of consciousness fade away and the addiction is to always get a shot of some consciousness-juice every morning or once in a while. I don't think I'm a jhana junkie anymore, but I sure as hell was addicted to meditative-highs and changes in perception. Just something to think about.
  16. @GreenWoods Please tell me more about it. I'm aware that most of the psychic and mahasamadi happen at the 4th jhana, but I'm too much of a pussy to increase karma in this universe. I also don't want psychic powers to ruin the game and I might still be too immature for it. I would confuse and impress people all the time with it. What's the easiest psychic ability to try? So I know where to start.
  17. @r0ckyreed I really enjoyed reading your text. But these are stories, and you can create a lot of illustrations. For example imagine god being a story of consciousness. God incarnates as every single sentient being sequentially. So the story starts with John smith, and ends with Xi jin ping with 7billion people in between. But instead of only creating one sentient being after the other, alone in a world, God creates them in the same matrix, so he can experience other-selves transcending time and still experiencing all of them. But this is still a story and god cannot be reduced to a story.
  18. @GreenWoods But that's exactly how a junkie feels:" I wish I could have the best high all the time and enjoy life to the fullest" It's like a heroin addict who wants a constant IV drip of heroin hahahaha
  19. @Consilience Its something totally different. There are no real distinct objects. But impressions of awareness is one "thing" or "vibration".
  20. @JoshuaBell buddhism sais that no 2 thinfs can show up at one. It's going max 50impressions/second.
  21. @caelanb Yes, he can have bad metaphysics if he wants, but shouldn't claim to have a clue about metaphysics disguised as science. If he doesn't get, that "baking a pie is not the same as cutting 2 pies in half and switching one half with the other" are totally different, then he has as bad metaphysics as the creationist he debated.
  22. @RMQualtrough I'm sure this is a very hard time for you, knowing you'll lose someone you love soon. If you have siblings and relatives, spend time with them. I don't know if you feel like spending time with her now, or stay alone, but both is okay. Here's what I wish I had done before my grandmother died. Write down how you remember her. Just usual stuff, what songs she listens to/sings. What things she said, the usual things, what she cooks, what hairspray she uses etc. . I promise you're not gonna regret it. I she still clear-minded and can she talk? The first thing you're gonna forget is her voice, so if you're both okay with it, record her. It's so beautiful to hear the voice of a loved one who is not longer with us. After 2 weeks of shock, if you manage do to small things here and there, not taking drugs, you'll be able to function again. It's still gonna be sad, but there's gonna be an okayness to that unimaginable sadness and loss. I hope she's gonna get good palliative care, and is okay with leaving you in this world.
  23. Because most of you haven't listened to it on other apps yet. Don't miss this, it's amazing.
  24. He told a story that he saw someone in a monastery who didn't have a bed he would just sit all the time with a smile. Crazy shit.
  25. @ivankiss I guess the Buddha was right, truth is universal.
