Yes he is obsessed with Trump in a weird way but most progressives are like that. Islam is one of the most problematic religions out there and many people suffer under it. My background is from that religion.

In Germany we say quiet waters are deep and dirty. Sam Harris is a martial arts and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu guy. So I guess his striking and grappling game is top notch.

In general one has to connect two different things and you already have something new. If you do it more times you might have something interesting once in a while out of it. For example I do like shuffle dance videos. Back in the time I enjoyed some bollywood songs. The combination sounds quite new. So I search in youtube with the keywords. Vuala! Now I am going to post it in the dance thread. https://www.reddit.com/r/Startup_Ideas/comments/86md95/james_altuchers_10_ideas_a_day/

@PetarKa Adult teaching costs more. Joke aside yes are not robots we need emotions to learn. I guess it is very hard to find the sweet spot for everybody. He says himself you have to check other sources as well. So you don't have to get obsessed with that stuff. You don't have to get deep with it. You can use a different angle I guess.

This forum is progressiv. Having problems with "reality" is the nature of the beast but there is no much alternative. Progressivism in my understanding is fighting for a better world. The problem with this is that you like a scientist have to experiment all the time. Like Edison you have to basically almost all the time fail to find something that works. Conservatists don't have that problem but they don't create much change. Change is sometimes very important. I guess otherwise you would not be on this forum. -
I agree with meditation. Additionally reading novels helps too. The effect is that the "activity" teaches you not to act on your thoughts. Not to identify with your thoughts. So then you gain some space and time where you can choose better without being controlled by your emotions. Personally I do like to do karaoke before to install some emotions in the background. Meditation and just reading can make you little bit emotionless and nihilistic so you might want to counterbalance it.

@AlphaAbundance Some people work with evolutional psychology besides non-dual elements.

When you transcended all of them it's nice. I guess you still need to eat and dring. So I guess you have to do at least the minimum level of maintenance for the different areas. With the sex drive I would check if you may do some maintenance to keep some level of it. Maybe you can keep it off for a while or all the time. I think if you don't stimulate your senses to a maintenance level you might lose literally some functions with your senses. Like I said you might want to take care of your senses it gives basically meaning to us as biological beings. When you talk about being alpha with the girls I would say this is not a balanced view in terms of maslov's pyramide also with Epikur. You might keep things balanced and at least at maintenance level. You never know if it might get back to you like a storm. I read yesterday about a buddhist monk who killed his ex-girlfriend. Yes you could say you allow "play" as a meaning to exist but actually it probably comes biologically anyway if you allow it. So yes you can assign meaning to your hobbies I think it's a good thing to do. I think when we look at our "reality" we see how powerful "play" and "hobbies" are. So you don't have to use too much energy to assign meaning to them. You can call it motivation. If your senses get stimulated with play it probably creates a feedback loop. The meaning assignment works then on autopilot. Like with marathon runners it feeds itself. The bilogical system enjoys itself by doing things that make "sense". For creating motivation you can remind yourself what faktors are relevant to it. For example (mircro) habits are a good way to get motivation going.

I think in general yes but it depends on the context. If you are in a tough situation like war. I think some level of stoicism might help. After you came trough the worst situation it's time come through life in a nice way. For that epicureism seems to be quite good. Actually I don't think I am building too much identity around him. Specially because it is not much known from him. Yes you are right I try to be flexibel with my perspectives. That is why intellectual curiousity is a big part of the deal.

I would work with Maslov's pyramide of needs. Regarding meaning I would use the word sense. I think it's less confusing. Like puppies wants to play you want to "play" as well. That is why many people love computer games and sports because it works. It gives actually some form of meaning. That is good enough I guess to keep you going. Try hobies I guess.

In principle that is not a bad thing. We need feedback to know what is going on. Like radar needs a feedback we need social feedback as well. That is why accountability is important. You don't want to be the guy who goes through the streets shouting I am Napoleon. In case that you care too much is probably your expectations to yourself is to big. Work more on yourself but expect less I guess.

I can imagine how bad it feels btw I am in philippines. I read your journal. I guess part of it is probably regret. When I get angry it's actually that I am angry at me. The worst anger seems to be regret. That I did something wrong where I could have done the right thing. In general the amount of frustration we feel is related to the amount of expectations we have. Basically the lower the expectation the lower the chance that you will get frustrated. You are getting data about yourself. Some data is only to be get in a crisis situation. So you learn about yourself. If you have financial problems and you still want to make music that means you are quite committed for example. Other lessons you can learn is always be prepared for the worst case scenario. If you are prepared for it you will not go crazy about it. Seeing what is important. One ideal could be to be self sufficient as much as possible so that you live on your own without needing too much others. One problem with visualization is that you work too hard against your programming and that can create frustrations. Also you can always think how good you have. You shurely can imagine how worse it could have become. Or that this crisis prepared you for bigger crisis.

There is a lot online. It was one of the biggest ideologies in the time of the roman empire. This might help: https://www.philosophybasics.com/branch_epicureanism.html With not super heroic I mean he is a minimalist. So he is the opposite of a marvel hero. You won't become "the hero" with his philosopy. But you might become relatively content and sometimes happy once in a while I guess.

I am working with the concept of Epikur. A hidden garden, some friends, intellectual curiousity (play). Live frugal and minimalistic. That is the most no nonsense approach I found. It's pretty down to earth. It's not super heroic but it might work for most.

I guess whatever you do it will be very hard to find "nice" people who want to do the job. This job sucks. -

Maybe he drank not poison but DMT became a different person. He stopped asking annoying questions. Actually that could be an interesting treatment for prisoners who can't escape their criminal patterns. Take psychedelics and become an artist or so. -
@Himanshu The NASA pick up is gold. The comments also. It sounds more professional and less cringy than the pick up gurus. I think NASA is a game changer I guess that is why RSD gave up in that market place. On the other hand it could be a hoax. Scientifically the project sounds impossible

He would not agree if logic would get raped This is Bret Weinstein who foresee the crazy -
Chances are the streets will not be disorganized for too long. Gangs and warlords will take over. Later you might have a fascist government. If that is not enough the military might take over. That is the situation in Brazil.

The job is getting harder and harder. To the enemies are joining the accelerationists. https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2020-06-17/far-right-boogaloo-boys-linked-to-killing-of-california-lawmen-other-violence https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boogaloo_movement#:~:text=The boogaloo movement%2C adherents to,they call the "boogaloo". I guess the looting and arson should be done a little bit less.

One thing to take into account USA might have a PTSD Syndrom after so many wars. So the patient might need alot of rest and no stress.

Or it gives you the power to defend yourself. Otherwise you are dependent on others to protect you. If the other is not in the "mood" you have no alternative. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst, I guess.

@Preety_India You are optimistic. That kind of people are needed but there are also other kind of people needed to balance it. The time did not necessarily changed because you said so. There is no evidence that times really have changed. The most important thing is the worst case scenario. With other scenarios people can deal in general. Regarding future: yes it is important specially for people with children. They don't want to make to much experiments: don't change a running system. Balance is key between being reasonable and emotional. It's like hindi movies without singing and dancing and indien food without curry.

You can not compare randomly countries I guess. For example you can not compare Brazil with India. The people have different temperaments and different history. I guess the white Americans are maybe like the swiss people. Their guns are the symbol of their freedom I guess. I guess you can change cultures if you come literally with A-Bomb like in the case of Japan. They changed in one day. It feels like saying give up your language. English is the most practical language in the world why wasting time with other languages? Changing systems are very costly. It's like changing your operating system, your religion. Say to a muslim their religion is not ok for the modern world. They will not accept it. The gun owners have a point when they say that with guns they can defend themselves against their government that becomes tyrannical. Look at china, north korea, cuba, nazi germany. These things can happen. Things in life are not black and white.

Yes nice but maybe it is not the worst idea. When police wants you in handcuffs and you don't accept it you should get a choice in which way you should be taken down. With wrestling, jui-juitsu, tazered, strike, baton, one on one, group? It's nice to have a choice. I remember hearing a couple days ago that Seattle has some age old law where a man can find another man if there is consent. The police officer basically gets the job as a referee.
