Epikur replied to Enlightenment's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
I looked quite deep and most of the leftist pundits agree. -
Because they are like everyone else. Different ideologies are fighting for power

Not really -
@Robi Steel Your perspective is valid but I don't think a forum what you would like exists yet. It seems at least quite impossible. Maybe you could create a forum where it works. I guess many people tried it and it didn't work out. The hill comes to my mind but it seems they have their tabu topics where they tone it down. The result is the people are not really informed they get just a centrist view of things. The truth is not always in the middle. In politics believes are essential but they are quite fragile. They are like little plants that need a safe space to develop. That is why this forum can not open too much to the other side. You have this situation in almost in every field of life. If you have a vision in anything you have to defend them from attack. Progressivism defended harder because it's believes are far from the "natural" beginnings. So it's quite easy to destroy it. So it needs more shelter to survive. If it's worth it is a matter of believe. Gutes gelingen. Wer suchet der findet.

That you are maybe a little late to the party. What do you think about it? -
Or we get insecure. Maybe you are replaced already. Non dual techno gods leading us.

Religios people are easier to disprove because science is not so important for them The next level would be Vaush's debate with the canadian french evolutional biologist. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/unique-everybody-else/201211/cold-winters-and-the-evolution-intelligence

I am not shure why people of a group should cheer for the other group. In general when your group (or just yourself) win they get a lot of "valuable" things for example power. I guess that is why they work so hard in the first place. If their win does not give them special powers they might not be motivated to do anything. Other example if you win in a gamble you probably are happy but if a stranger wins you will not care. Maybe some form of special system that can be created that is so fair that the people who work hard get enough value back. I guess the progressives tend to think it's possible The conservatives think less that way. The truth might be somewhere between them.

Here the question is asked is Batman a fascist?
-
Sometimes yes but sometimes it's not clear. A prof has an ego too. So he is invested in his theory so it happens he calls people dumb to make himself feel good. A dumb person is sometimes not invested in a topic and in his intelligence and can accept his ignorance.
-
Seems not so clear: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/12/13/world/europe/uk-election-labour-redwall.html
-
Because it sounds sometimes like it is not ment seriously. A way of lazy thinking. The question would be then: What does dumb mean? Is he really dumb? Why is he dumb?
-
Really? He gives the sarcastic vibe people say. Could be his deep manly voice and sometimes his "toxic masculinity" when talks about his "massiv" dingdong. Which he scaled down a lot it seems. In his latest vid he comes off as almost conservative. He is talking about manners, trackrecord. Very judgemental for an anarchist. Something comes to my mind about his central arguments (not related to this video). What happens to people who don't want to work in his worker coop transition system (that later becomes communism)

Maybe Jesse might have his situation too. Some might be very sad.

Facebook is fighting the pressure, though it's not big enough: https://www.cnet.com/news/facebook-ad-boycott-how-big-businesses-hit-pause-on-hate/ https://www.wsj.com/graphics/facebook-faces-an-advertiser-boycott/

Kyle thinks that it is an intentional distraction. He doesn't seem to be emphatic about cancelling "media racism". Kyle is floating slightly away from the left?

We both had the talk about opportunists. He is a case where he doesn't look like an oportunist. If a compassionate brainiac like him has these wrong ideas (though every worldview is relativ) then how much chance has a normal guy to understand the truth of the progressive idea?

He is the classic superhero who defends the good against the evil. Most superhero action and cop movies work like that but times maybe changing and things get different?

This was little bit surprising. I didn't expect Chris Cuomo inviting this guy (looks like Harvey Keitel):
