  4. Most people who tried this way failed for many decades that is why they try to use routines. We have basically monkey brains. Monkeys are happy getting vegetables. Once they get bananas they start hating vegetables. That is why many things in life are counterintuitive. That is why it took humans 20k years to build planes. One has to fight against oneself because of the monkey brain.
  5. I have the whole day. It is amazing how the mind wants cheap dopamine kicks. I am experimenting for years to find a good morning routine. What kind of works is switching every couple minutes to diffent routines otherwise my brain gets stuck with one routine and has no capacity to switch to another one and specially to brainy work. Once in a while I want a deep solution and I try 1 hour meditation. Sounds right? No it calms me down but it makes me phlegmatic. So I have to go back to the switch routine. It is always a little battle.
  6. Bump. This is an old thread but I think it is weird that it is not talked much about it. I mean that they can get hear or get the thoughts of the other one is very interesting. Imagine one is meditating while the other is reading.

  8. Most sports are indirectly connected to an outcome. In some cases it is subconscious. It is no coincidence that chess figures are copied from real battlefield. That gives the motivation. So to some degree play is important for practicing for reality.
  9. Most sports are unhealthy and weird on a higher level. On a normal level they are quite fun. I gave up on chess when I heard that it does not make one smarter. On the other hand I read it is good for memory. Maybe I should try it again as I really want to better my memory.

  13. There was this one girl she was learning Russian. I asked her why she does not go for Romanic languages because I think they are more beautiful. She said she likes rough languages. Romanic languages feels like toys she said. Maybe one angle to look at it is in terms of sports. There are sports that are more nice to look at and there are sports like wrestling where it is like war. So maybe Russian is about seriousness and not think to much about singing and beauty but to prepare for the next war. Romanic languages had this peak culture for a long time where it might have soften the edges and made the language more beautiful.

  15. I feel like there are not enough reaction videos. People are afraid to say their opinion. With many opinions there are more perspectives. With more perspectives it is easier to figure out a topic. Everybody learns witha different lens the more lenses there are the more people can learn easier.

  17. I was in that boad for a long time. What you are doing is procrastination but a useful one. Sport is easier than mental work as we are monkeys. What works better for me is doing minute tasks. That way you do micro routines and switch to real work and than back. The switching takes energy but it is better than getting lost in your routines. I do 30 per cent of my exercise in the morning and the rest in the evening. Get rid of the physical energy in the evening. Use micro exercises to feel awake. Real work in the morning is extremely important it trains the brain to do real work. That makes everything else much easier. Eat the frog. Start small with 1 minute work, 1 minute meditation, 1 minute exercise etc. I am still not good at it but I am much better than when I did the 3 hour routines. I loved doing them but it holds you back. If the monkey mind is stronger than change location go to a library or so to cage the monkey. Like Odysseus with the sirens.
