It strikes me how in America there is so much stigma whenever the idea of "communism" is presented. Communism is just one flavour of Socialism and it's not fixed ideology, it's about values. Socialism is deeply utilitaristic and favours people who are oppressed in hardcore capitalistic society. In Europe, communism is long gone and it's not coming back. Only thing that is coming back is socialism and socialistic values which will only improve existing capitalism. And only right-wing and far-right ideologues are scared of communism and socialism. -
@SamueLSD yes, eletroBeam is right. If you really go in the army so you would help the world, then that could work. The world needs more conscious soldiers. Only problem with that is your personal growth which I don't know how much will be inhibited while in army, but you do your best. And think about your decisions a lot, try to find counter arguments for your decision and really embrace those and question yourself. If you have some time, don't rush into it, learn and grow until you feel either stronger need to join the army or you lose interest. Listen to your intuition, not your mind or your needs.

@AtheisticNonduality since living and non living is a duality, you can look at it in infinite possible ways. I'm going to present few of them: 1) we can say that some things in universe are alive and some are dead but since reality is fractal and we can't know when life begins and ends, it would be absurd to believe that. Also that would be vague definition that completely can't tell you anything about life. 2) we can also say that everything is non living and that would be true from one POV, but really we couldn't explain everything with that method. From a scientific point, this is really logical and this is the paradigm that most scientists use. 3) one could argue that everything is alive. This is ultimately Leo's way of explaining it and personally I use it when I am debating origin of life with other people. I do really believe that if something is moving, it has to be alive. I am form and I can move, therefore I am alive. If that is true for me, it's true for plants, bacteria, molecules, atoms, quarks, things smaller than quarks and everything smaller that you could imagine. If one thing in universe is alive, every other thing is because it could not be otherwise. -
I dunno about daylight, but you need to worry about night light, too. Install some blue light filter programs on your screens to minimize blue light exposure at night.

TL;DR the rest of thread if you want to eat fish specifically for omega-3 try flaxseed. They are more healthy and they are delicious.

If you are disgusted by eating meat, you should realize that that's not an accident. You are disgusted by it because you know that you don't really need it and yet you are intimidated by the thought of consuming it. Try not eating meat for a week and see how much happier have you become by avoiding it. If you have (subtle) need to cut out meat then do it and you will feel better.

I recommend everyone to read Frederick Dolan's answer to this question https://www.quora.com/What-did-Nietzsche-mean-when-he-said-if-you-stare-into-the-abyss-the-abyss-stares-back-at-you This is the main point that striked my mind but you won't get much from it unless you read the whole thing: "The healthiest human being, Nietzsche thinks, is one whose sheer love of life is so powerful that he or she enthusiastically desires the eternal repetition of everything that has happened and will happen – good, bad, and evil. Such a person affirms life without qualification, absolutely." - Frederick Dolan If one wants to fully embrace life and to love life, he needs to accept both good and bad and love both while wanting to eternally repeat life no matter what is happening in life. You can't deny parts of life and love life to the fullest. That isn't total love.

@Bazooka Jesus I am reading Zarathustra right now and boy is it good! I can only get insights from it when I focus and analyze it sentence by sentence. It wasn't meant to be read like a prose, you really have to dig into it. Maybe you could try rereading it after some time, you will get it better.

Last night I had a fanstastic realization but its very confusing for me to think through it. When we are daydreaming, we can all imagine people and have vivid pictures of somebody. What if we spent a lot of brain's energy into visualizing one or more people. If we made that person so vivid using our visualization ability, could that person in our mind eventually get his own thoughts and have ability to realize that he is aspect of my mind. If we had a person who is so genetically powerful or if somebody takes some weird nootropics, do you think that could be possible? It's like a video game character so conscious who could realize that he is inside the game. Is it possible then for that imagined person to create a sense of self, ego and maybe to get enlightened at the end? I would like to know what you guys think. -

Hi! I haven't gone to sleep on time for at least a year now. I always miss it for at least half an hour and sometimes a lot more. The quality of my health depends a lot on my sleep. It has been very poor up to this point. I know that my optimal ammount of sleep is 7.5 hours and I am a morning person, so the sooner I go to bed the better my sleep will be. If I go to bed after a midnight I usually have to sleep more than 7.5 hours and the quality of that sleep is oftentimes poor. For some time I have tried building a better sleep routine but I haven't ever really succeeded in that. Besides health, sleep really affects my spiritual practices and my mood. I need some tips from people who have good routines.

Working out with physiotherapist is usually very beneficial but it will help you much more if you do sessions for few weeks straight (if you are phisically able to train that much) and after few weeks you will start to see benefits.
