  1. @Michael569 Pretty sure they are also high in melatonin @Craigxt22 Also a possible insulin response?
  2. There's surely a ton of books and even probably some YouTube channels. Try journaling! It's easy to print off your own journal entries if you just have a computer and printer. example: PM 1.What could I have done today to be less messy/more organized. 2. How could I have organized my day more efficiently? AM 1.What is one thing I should make sure I do today that will contribute to less cluttered living? 2.What might trip me up today and how can I prepare for that? 10 mins in the morning and 10 mins at night. starting and ending your days like this will give you great results if you can stick with it.
  3. @playdoh the obvious answer is to go to sleep earlier but hear me out when it comes to discipline. A lot of people have the wrong expectations when it comes to discipline. People often think that once they are finally disciplined, "hard things" will become "easy things". This is wrong. discipline is really just the willingness to suffer. Lying in bed is easy, comfortable and requires no suffering and that is why people with no discipline frequently sleep in. Getting up before you want to on the other hand is hard and requires a bit of suffering. being disciplined won't make getting out of a warm cozy bed easy. Being disciplined means that you will get out of bed even though it isn't easy because you are willing to suffer getting out of the cozy bed that you want to stay in. There's no easy way out. It takes a willingness to suffer, and no advice or self-help theory will give you a way around that. It's just going to be hard. Notice however that avoiding situations that bring suffering all the time leads to more suffering than the initial situations ever would. You've probably heard "If you do what is easy, your life will be hard. If you do what is hard, your life will be easy." Tomorrow morning, JUST GET UP!
  4. What is theobromine? Theobromine, naturally found in cacao and select teas, is becoming a popular alternative to caffeine. Theobromine can be a longer-lasting, milder, and more pleasant energy source over caffeine and has a whole host of other health benefits. Theobromine is a naturally occurring compound found in cacao and select tea plants. You’ll often hear theobromine mentioned in the same breath as cacao and even chocolate. This is because cacao is often the primary source of this naturally occurring stimulant. Cacao has long been known for its energizing effect and was even served to ancient Mayan chiefs because it was viewed as a gift from the gods. As such, when scientists decided to name the new genus of plant, they called it Theobroma Cacao which means “food of the gods.” Theobromine is in the same class of stimulants as caffeine, but theobromine is quite different from caffeine because it offers a longer lasting, more relaxed energy without the spike and crash. Unlike caffeine, theobromine is not a central nervous system stimulant and therefore doesn’t typically make you feel as on edge or jittery. For that same reason, theobromine is non-addictive. The energy from theobromine feels more akin to a good night’s sleep and also gives you a “holistic high” by making you feel more focused. Theobromine and caffeine are similarly constructed types of pharmacologically active chemicals but with noticeably different effects. Theobromine is gentle, mild, has a slow onset, is long lasting and non-addictive whereas caffeine is intense, strong, fast acting, short lived and can be addictive. Benefits of theobromine over coffee #1 Better Focus Theobromine can help with brain function and helps to improve focus. In one study, after consuming cacao beverages, participants that were assigned certain tasks showed more interested and demonstrated greater calmness.[ii] [ii] https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21839757 #2 Better Sleep Interestingly, despite being a stimulant, theobromine can also help you to sleep at night as it helps to balance brain chemistry. #3 Better Breathing Theobromine helps to relax your lungs so you can breathe deeper, especially helpful if you have asthma. #4 Lowers Blood Pressure Theobromine helps to lower blood pressure due to the easier blood flow and also acts as a diuretic and smooth muscle relaxer.[ii] https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3672386/ [ii] https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2125532/ #5 Improves Overall Cardiovascular Health Increased flood flow from theobromine also means a greater amount of toxins that are cleaned out of your body. Studies have shown this could also potentially decrease risk of kidney stones, decrease onset effects of dementia, decrease risk of stroke, and help with similar brain diseases or blood vessel related dysfunction. Should I Be Swapping Theobromine Over Caffeine? The host of theobromine benefits speak for themselves. When it comes to swapping out caffeine for theobromine, your body may thank you. Studies suggest consuming more than 400 mg of caffeine (4 cups of coffee worth) per day can be harmful, and theobromine offers a great alternative. Best sources of theobromine Brewed Cacao Roasted, ground, and brewed just like coffee, brewed cacao has the flavor and aroma of pure dark chocolate plus high levels of theobromine. While it brews like coffee, you get the benefits of cacao with 350mg of theobromine and just 15mg of caffeine per 8 oz cup. Brewed cacao also is becoming a popular alternative for coffee for its significantly lower levels of acidity vs. coffee. Cacao Powder Similar to brewed cacao, cacao powder is an excellent source of theobromine with 131 mg per tablespoon. Add two or three tablespoons of cacao powder into your favorite smoothie and you’re close to the same level of theobromine in brewed cacao. The less processed, the better when it comes to cacao powder. Navitas Organics is a good option. Dark Chocolate While a bit more more processed than brewed cacao and cacao powder, dark chocolate still retains high levels of theobromine. A 85% dark chocolate bar has 115 mg per 1.5 oz serving. Guayusa Tea Guayusa is a type of holly tree native to the Amazon rainforest that when brewed as a tea has both caffeine (70 mg) and Theobromine (40 mg). Runa Guayusa is one popular source. Yerba Mate Tea The leaf from the Yerba Mate tea also is relatively high in theobromine (33 mg) combined with higher levels of 80 mg) caffeine that gives a more balanced “natural energy cocktail.” Guayaki is the most popular brand.
  5. @no_name from what I understand culinary matcha is more bitter but slightly HIGHER in antioxidants while ceremonial grade will have higher caffeine and L-theanine content with a better taste.
  6. Sounds like she wants the psychedelics to do the work for her. Do the psychedelics but she'll still have to do the work and if shes not even willing to read a few books I doubt she figures it all out just because she takes lsd. Just being honest. I wish it was as easy as just thinking about it while tripping but its almost always not that way.
  7. @The Mystical Man start small. Problem solved. Why would you stop breathing?
  8. @puporing I'm jealous. Excluding dmt, no psychedelic has ever given me many noticeable visuals even at heroic dosages.
  9. @Someone here check out david goggins book/audiobook "Cant hurt me". The audiobook is great and he elaborates more deeply on the chapter after he reads it so it is a little bit more powerful than the book in my opinion.
  10. I think YOU ALL are the ones tripping! "Omg he loves his cat" "Omg he's a grown man and owns a pistol" "Omg I can maybe see a pubic hair" "Omg he's eating a small bowl of ice cream" ???? until he fucks his cat and start pistol whipping people RELAX. Maybe I'm just biased because I also love my cat, own a pistol and have pubic hair lol (not to mention the occasional bowl of ice cream)
  11. Your energy levels will also drop drastically after 30 and being a new parent and running all around and not getting sleep will all be much more difficult without energy.
  12. @no_name Just pay attention where your getting matcha. Especially of ypur drinking it everyday. NEVER get chinese matcha. It's packed with heavy metals and other toxins. Same with any other tea. Always avoid it if its from China.
  13. @Yarco I know it's hard not to but don't stress too much. I have FIVE kids all under 10 and I promise it gets DRASTICALLY easier after around 2. I don't miss those long stressed out exhausted days of the first year. Believe it or not you will miss it. The days are long but the years are short. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it until they were all past that stage.? But yes, having another person that requires your time and attention will leave you,to some extent, with less time and attention to put towards yourself. I think that's true to some extent for any at home relationship. Kids, romantic partner, dog. I wish I would've put more time into myself before having kids but at the same time having kids eventually kickstarted my growth in a way that I don't think I could've done myself.
  14. Yep^^^ What is it that you are missing that you think you will find in a girlfriend? Seems to me like you think having a girlfriend will mean or lead to you no longer feeling Maybe before thinking about a girlfriend you dive deep into why you feel this way. If I'm right (I could totally be wrong)having this type of shadow will be disastrous to a relationship if you do managed to get one. Work on having a social life while you work on figuring that stuff out. That's just my advice. Good luck!
  15. @halfknots This is my concern as well.
  16. @Jaccobtw NOOO!! If you're scared of legal trouble I HIGHLY recommend NOT COMMITING INTERNATIONAL DRUG SMUGGLING AT AN AIRPORT! Want to talk about being in trouble if your caught... If you get caught going from one country to another with that you are fucked for life.
  17. @blankisomeone 1 week should be plenty. 3 or 4 days is all it takes for your tolerance to return to baseline.
  18. @Leo GuraSame. One reason why is because, even though 90% of the time the "but Leo..." examples don't apply to me, it helps me to realize the perspectives and mental blocks that others may have. This is especially useful to me because I work with helping drug addicts and people with mental illnesses and I frequently find myself forgetting how different there ideas and perspectives are from my own. Keep up the good work.
  19. Get a new crowd! Its tough. Something I'm currently working on and it feels great to have a good group of people. Something I've heard before: "If you hang out in the barber shop long enough you will eventually get a haircut." If you want to stop certain behaviors you have to stay away from those behaving that same way. Friends can get you stuck for sure.
  20. @SamC a song that I believe was inspired by this quote. https://youtu.be/ElUMn9exqyg
  21. @StarStruck ? You literally made an ignorant one sided post and I shared the other side so we can see the whole picture instead of only seeing one sided cherry picked extreme examples so what do you mean "so?" Are you trolling me? If you can't see how obviously relevant and directly related my response was to the original post than I don't think me explaining is going to help you figure it out. Your response was just as pointless as your thread.
