I do think you're giving a bit too much credit to private business, and not enough credit towards collective action and public works, and here is why I think this... First and foremost, you're giving Elon too much credit. Did you know that California wanted to build high speed rail so people could traverse between long distances without using a car? Musk stepped in and told the city planners to not continue with the project, saying that he would instead built a much better hyperloop system. No hyperloop was created, and Musk would later admit that the hyperloop was about getting legislatures to stop building the high speed rail, and he had no intentions of creating a hyperloop system. https://www.reddit.com/r/urbanplanning/comments/wlsdlo/musk_admitted_hyperloop_was_about_getting/ And speaking of cars, have you ever wondered why America is so reliant on cars? I mean think of it, America, especially in rural areas, public transportation and walkable cities are not really a thing. America doesn't have high speed rail, nor do we have trolleys anymore. The reason for this is because auto and oil industrialists bribed American city planners intentionally to make city planning spread out and less dense as possible, intentionally so that everyone would have to be reliant on a car. https://www.reddit.com/r/Economics/comments/7d530/the_great_american_streetcar_scandal_how_gm/ This is why German rural areas look like this: So how nice and dense everything is? It looks like an actually community where someone can trek on foot to places where they need to be. Skip to 22:15 Meanwhile in China, they are currently building the world's largest hydroelectric plant in Tibet, which is supposed to account for ten percent of their energy needs.

A while ago, I posted this thread: I have applied, and was accepted, to attend a meditation retreat at the end of this month, from May 24, to May 28. It's a Buddhist retreat, hosted by Monks and Nuns. I have been to the temple where the Nuns host chanting sessions with various Chinese families, but this is at a different location. Below is my schedule. Or at least I think this is my schedule, not entirely sure. The monastery says that this is what the 5 day retreats look like, but will it be the same for my specific retreat? Don't know. Here's the official description of the retreat. 5/24 3 PM Check-in | 5/28 12 PM Conclusion | 5/28 2-4 PM Post-retreat teatime social Loving-Kindness is one of the four qualities of Brahmavihara (Divine Abidings) and serves as the foundation for the Brahmavihara meditation technique. It is one of the oldest and most popular meditation methods during Buddha's time. According to the Path of Purification (Visudhimagga), the practice of Brahmavihāra is considered as one of the three universal practices that all cultivators must be trained on; as it eliminates ill will, calms anxiety, and fosters harmony in a community. Not only does this method helps to develop samadhi (concentration), but also resolves interpersonal issues making it the most suitable method for laypeople. This method also accumulates experience and skills that serve as a bedrock for insight meditation (vipassana). At [name of location redacted by Husseinisdoingfine], this meditation method is considered the most crucial practice for all meditators. This retreat is a foundational course that serves as a prerequisite for future retreats. -

Definitely an emotional experience. The number one emotion I definitely felt was restlessness, I was so used to instant and easy information because of the easy access to technology and instant entertainment. The best way I can describe this is; when going to high school or working at a restaurant and waiting for the clock to finally hit the specific time to clock out or for class to end. The restlessness I felt was almost unbearable. But I left the retreat with a joy and clenrmindedness that I've never felt before. I was almost in tears because my mind was so clear, I've never felt something like this before. -

So a while ago on this very forum, we had this thread: Now the Kanye situation has gotten worse, as not only has he sold t-shirts featuring a swastika, but now he has gone as far as publishing a song titled, 'Heil Hitler'. It is the ninth track from his newly released studio album, 'CUCK'. Yes, that's the name of the album. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuck_(album) Here it is: Below is a wikipedia page about the song, where you can see he has chosen the track cover to be a Nazi swastika. The album cover for CUCK, however, features two men in KKK robes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heil_Hitler_(song) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuck_(album)

I personally know someone who utterly tanked their grades in high school solely because of their computer game addiction. I mean -- all F's. They were later able to redeem themselves by doing very good in a Community College, allowing themselves to get into a decent University. But another person I know is currently in his 4th year of Community College, its supposed to only take 2 years, because of his computer gaming addiction. -
I remember I read Santata Gamana's book, where in one of the chapters it asked, do I need a guru? And the answer is, yes, but a Guru is anything which takes someone from darkness to enlightenment. But it right now is commonly is used for scholars. I need a scholar by my side or else my scholar is satan?

But is there a deeper spiritual meaning to the proverb?
-
Does Sheik in this context have a deeper meaning? Because a Sheik is a patriarchal leader or chief, often of a tribe or family, in Islamic countries. The word Sheikh is more often used for religious leaders, but same general concept.

I've gotten really successful results using Hinge, which is a dating app. You can adjust your preferences in that app to seek non-religion people, or just only 'like' people who write that they don't have a religion on their profile. But warning, as a man these apps are really competitive. Make sure your photos are top notch, and consider even getting a professional photoshoot and headshot. Have a professional photo of your face, have a photo of you outside, one photo with your friends, etc...

There also apparently exists a book about Marx's analysis of historical materialism, but I don't know if its authentic. https://www.amazon.com/Historical-Materialism-Karl-Marx/dp/0717804119 There's also The German Ideology, which touches up on his ideas of historical materialism. " It criticizes "ideology" as a form of "historical idealism", as opposed to Marx's historical materialism (the "materialist conception of history"). " -- Wikipedia There is as well The Eighteenth Brumaire of Louis Bonaparte, for which I have read. Its an essay which serves as a major historiographic application of Marx's theory of historical materialism.

@Leo Gura I disagree with socialism being unworkable and unfeasible for my reasonings, but hey, that is my opinion. But if I may correct you a bit, I think what you went to write was that socialism and communism are fallacious ideologies. Marxism is not a political prescription per-say. Karl Marx himself was against an ~ism being attached his last name. Marxism is more of a school of through which encompasses many fields; sociology, history, philosophy, and economics. But it's an incredibly fascinating. I am currently reading Volume I of Das Kapital, and its incredibly profound. This one book took Marx 30 years to write, and it shows in itself. I've learned so much from this one book, including; Chapter 1: The Commodity Section 1 – The Two Factors of a Commodity: Use-Value and Exchange-Value Commodity = something produced for exchange that satisfies a human need. Has a dual nature: Use-value: The utility or usefulness of the object. Exchange-value: Its value in relation to other commodities (what it can trade for). Exchange-value is determined not by usefulness, but by labor time. Section 2 – The Twofold Character of Labor Labor also has a dual character: Concrete labor: Specific, useful activity (e.g., weaving, tailoring) → creates use-values. Abstract labor: Human labor in the abstract, measured in socially necessary labor time → creates value. Value is the socially necessary labor time embodied in a commodity. Commodities are equal in exchange because they represent equal quantities of abstract labor. Implication: Real social labor relations are hidden in market exchange → leads to commodity fetishism. Chapter 2: The Process of Exchange Commodities must be exchanged to realize their value. Exchange requires owners who recognize each other's goods as having value. Money emerges as a solution to the limits of barter. Through exchange, private labor becomes socially validated. Exchange is the social process that connects isolated producers. Chapter 3: Money, or the Circulation of Commodities Section 1 – Money as the Measure of Value Commodities express their value in terms of money (price). Money acts as a universal equivalent, allowing comparison of all commodities. Price is the money-form of value. This role of money is initially ideal/mental—we assign price before any actual exchange happens. Prices may deviate from actual labor-values due to market dynamics. Section 2a – The Medium of Circulation: The Metamorphosis of Commodities The full exchange cycle is: C → M → C (commodity → money → another commodity). This process is called the metamorphosis of commodities. Money allows sale and purchase to be separated in time and space. Two separate acts: Sale: Commodity becomes money (C → M). Purchase: Money becomes another commodity (M → C). Value is only realized through successful exchange. This process introduces contradictions and dependencies: Sale and purchase can break apart (e.g. if someone sells but doesn’t buy). Circulation depends entirely on money’s presence and acceptance. Value realization becomes socially uncertain. Rational individual behavior (e.g. hoarding money) can cause systemic crisis. I'm no where near done and yet I've learned so much and I love it. https://www.intpubnyc.com/browse/collected-works-of-marx-and-engels-vol-35-vol-01-capital/ That is the link where I bought my copy, if you want to also read this book. The link I just posted is supposed to be the translation that's the most true to the original.

https://www.actualized.org/insights/the-material-conditions-of-hierarchy Seeing Leo post this video in his blog was quite surprising, given Leo's past statements about Marxism, the video above seemed very Marxist. As not only does the video directly talk about Marx's philosophy, but the video overall is about material conditions and touches gently on class conflicts, and how these forces move society, something Marx was very big on in his historical essay. Karl Marx was not just an economist, but a sociologists and historian. Typically, people who talk about material conditions tend to be Marxist Socialists, which is why Leo posting that video in his blog was surprising. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_materialism
