  1. there's an error on the forum guidelines: metal-masturbation should be mental masturbation.
  2. like if someone says something i liked i could ... press a like button to show the fact that i liked what was being said. also sorry not sure where's the right place to post it if there's even such a place.
  3. @Leo Gura Before you said there are (at least) 2 drugs, that are stronger than 5-meo-dmt. One of them was DMZ if I recall correctly. And then, you said you found something even stronger than that. What happened to these drugs? Do you still think they are better?
  4. Hi What's the best way to have a special mystical experience? Without psychedelics?
  5. Hi Leo. I think it would be awesome if you would make a video about all the super-natural/unexplainable phenomena that you experienced throughout your spiritual journey. A lot of times you said that if you'd share all this stuff, people need to be "extremely open-minded about it". So...I'm sure some of us are. Spill the beans! Let everything out! It will be fun. And it doesn't have to be a "personal growth" video, you can post it on your personal blog for that matter.
  6. @Preety_India u support trump? U support folks owning auto / semi auto weapons?
  7. @deso I can sympathize with you, I also used to be an over-thinker analytical type and a lot of my interest in spirituality was the will to feel superior to others. I was unaware of this of course, most of the time. I would advice you (and my young self, and also my current self) to embrace partiality and imperfectness. You can find growth and happiness, but ultimately, not in words and labels, not in concepts. I know how you feel b/c this is also my basic tendency: looking for either a quick fix, "god mode", cheat codes, a way to go around the maze... After enough suffering I learned - you don't get to do it. You have to go through the maze of being a HUMAN. an imperfect human with all your weaknesses and flaws and neurosis and vulnerability. The way one finds spiritual growth is not by running away from the human nature. Focus on your everyday life. Be Gentle And Honest with yourself about your feelings. i.e,. yes, look inside and listen to your deep feelings, but do it gently with compassion. Also I recommend researching the availability one has to surrender at each moment; mindfulness of breath combined with relaxation and surrendering, and the concept of "right view" - clear, discerning observation. It's a paradoxical path...But the breath is always a good anchor to come back to. Much love brother.
  8. I see what you mean. But sometimes I just wanna let someone know I really like what they said or that I agree with them and it seems redundant to post a whole message just for that.
  9. @Viking Yo I identify with you a lot. Like, right now I'm not like that but I used to be for a long time, and I was also detached as a kid/young adult especially. I think that it's rational thinking in a sense - why on earth would you want to make any effort in this life? Life's a bitch and for some people just getting to a place where their effort is worthwhile is in itself too much effort and not worth it. Fighting to change your thought patterns is really hard. I think what you are really is God wanting to experience being lazy and lowkey feeling sorry for yourself/being passive about life, but in a sneaky kind of way, not too blunt AND - I think that one day you will have exhausted this mindset and will start to make a change. I feel like it'll happen effortlessly for you - like, you just get to a point one day when you'll be tired with that. At least that's what happened to me.
  10. In my opinion, Pete is far more conscious and loving than Bernie. Pete truly demonstrates integration and inclusion of different world views, in the way he appeals to conservatives and moderates, all while supporting progressive policies like cannabis legalization, the green new deal, etc. Basically just listen to the man talk - even when his campaign responded to the woman who was disappointed finding out he's gay - it was a generous, kind and loving response. IMO he's a truly stage yellow guy.
  11. Leo, I really want to know what's the fastest, most direct way to experience that "wackiness" of like you're talking about. You always say there's stuff you don't share cause we, the audience, are "not open-minded enough". Could you please share them? I promise not to judge. I'm actually interested in the weird, unusual, wacky aspects of consciousness and I want to access them. Thing is, I can't do psychedelics. Medical reasons you could say.
  12. according to Alan Wallace and according to my own experience, it's good. it is the beginning of being able to discern more and more subtle tactile sensations, which is important for achieving shamatha. go deeper down that rabbit hole, I'd suggest
  13. What do you do when you wake up lazy and bored? All I wanna do today is get high, watch porn and eat sweets. And take naps. How to deal with it
  14. @Leo Gura this just screams pseudo-science...
  15. All the comments here changed my mind from "supporter" to "undecided". Also I supported Bernie before, just less than Pete.
  16. @Leo Gura yo Leo why don't you sound enlightened like in your last video? what happened since? did you have an ego backlash? I just look at your last few messages and you come off as judgmental and criticizing. Like "purging the bullshitters" what happened to love haha not asking this to troll or anything, I guess it's because I had a hope this experience is different than the ones you had before.
  17. @zeroISinfinity what do you mean? Also you didn't answer my question @SerotoninluvHoly hell those are wise words. Thank you
  18. So when Leo took 5-meo or DMZ or other powerful stuff, he blogged about it and said things like (paraphrasing) "there is literally no difference between me and God". Question is, if so, why can't Leo imagine a crocodile into existence, or imagine China into non-existence, or make peace on earth? Maybe that means that this spiritual theory is false - we are not actually God, or The Whole, or Taotl. I think in one of your videos, Leo, you said something about "levels" and "separation" of imagination, and how God imagined you as a limited being. But those limitations, are suppose to disappear, if you raise your consciousness so high, that you become one with God/The True Self.
  19. @matt23 The guided meditations are cut out of the videos, but you can get them in the link in the video's description.
  20. This guy's the real deal. His message is not only in his words, but also in his energy, tone of voice, and body language. From the video's description: This is a 121 (!) part playlist with talks/lectures etc. By Dr. Alan Wallas. Truly Amazing.
  21. Hi folks. I think it's tremendously important to be self-reflective when thinking and discussing politics. I think that in order for the political discourse to evolve, we need to start talking about our feelings and emotions in an open and honest way. We need to create safe spaces, online and offline, for people to be able to express their emotions without judgment or criticism. Personally, I find myself having a strong negative emotional reaction when listening to self-identified conservatives or right-wingers. I am not sure what is the source of these feelings, but I do know they need compassion and understanding. They need to be validated. They are legitimate, just like all feelings. I am really interested in "doing work" and gaining some insight into this, when it comes to myself. I'm 30M, I live in Israel (and I'm very much against the occupation and oppression of the Palestinians), and my "ultimate" political position (although in conflict with my spiritual growth) is radical negative-utilitarianism: Efilism, anti-natalism, veganism. But ultimately Efilism (the belief that nothing is better than something and we should do our best to atomize everything). This goes without saying, but just in case this is not obvious to some: I'm not suggesting the emotional-centered conversations should replace discussions about values and policy, rather that they should accompany them.
  22. My friend, I see where you are coming from, and I don't think we disagree. Of course one has to develop his inner mental strength, and aspire to not being needy or dependent on things out of his control. What I'm saying is that as a society, we would benefit so much more if we would infuse our political discussions with the realization that our emotions and feelings are key. That is, we become more aware of what we feel, we would be more comfortable to express it, and we would be able to validate the emotions of the other side, even when we disagree with them, and even if their views give rise to strong negative emotions within ourselves. It's not contradicting: From an individual point of view, don't be emotionally dependent in external validation. From a meta-level bird's eye view, I am arguing that this development will make our political discussions way healthier, way more efficient and direct, and ultimately more constructive!! Thank you.
  23. Leo, man, I don't get you. Of course not EVERYONE is going to be that way, but why can't we create this on our own? As in, let's say, this forum for example. The fact that some people are close minded and hateful sometimes, doesn't mean we can't have these kind of places, that will be closed off to this kind of behavior and people. I meant that what we need is: 1. Being aware of our emotions while we engage in political discussion. 2. Being able to express our emotions without being judged. This does not mean, that you can not criticize policy suggestions, for example. Please note those are 2 different things. For example, a right wing person can say: "I feel that the actions of such and such...hurt my national identity. I feel humiliated, and beaten, and hurt, and I am raging". And a left winger could answer: "I understand how you feel, even tho I don't agree with you on the core issue. Your emotions are validated, and even tho I support the actions of such and such, I don't do it in order to hurt other's national identity. I do it to advance human rights. And when people attack [the issue at hand], I feel that they attack the basic notion that we are all equal, and that one's personal freedoms to act against the social/collective consensus, must be defended".
  24. In his recent video, Leo said Chinese oppression of the Uighurs/Muslims is "neither good nor bad"; And that the fact China is responsible for mass production of various goods at cheap prices, demonstrates how morally judging the actions of the CCP is "not black and white" (paraphrasing here). NOW, China could mass produce products without this oppression and horrible mistreatment to The Uighur Nation. Why is it so hard to say what they're doing is evil? Why when you are walking on the spiritual path you have to become so tolerate, that you would even tolerate the worst actions mankind is doing. Morality cannot be completely undermined, if you try to do this, it will lead you to absurd views like these. I wonder how Leo would feel if his own family would've been victimized by the CCP. edit: also "people wanna reunite bathrooms after they've been divided for thousands of years" LMAO yes we all remember the famous ancient seperated bathrooms discovered in archeological excavations. This video's by far the one most filled with inaccuracies and mistakes. SAD.
  25. I tend to share this view at least along side other perspectives. I realize that my emotions as I describe this to myself or others are the key to understanding things. And I'm working on it...
