  1. @Philip The reason your born is due to karma... Your (probably?) a Canadian, karmic reasons... You are a man, karmic reasons... Your talents, misfortunes, habits, thoughts, passions, relations, and a big YES.., your interests, all due to karma. Your physical body, your mental body, your energy body and your emotional body; all due to karma. The one thing that is not under the influence of karmic tendencies is your spiritual body or Anandamaya Kosha. Karma is terribly misunderstood by western people.
  2. @cnorhistorian So you are a follower of the Baha'i Faith, correct me if I am wrong?
  3. @Philip One can write books about it when you deal with the question from a philosophical point of view. The same taken from a sociological, cultural, biological or psychological point of view. Millions of answers can be given but the best answer in the context of spiritual or personal development is just; due to karma. It`s just a layer of answering, one that keeps you moving on because every other answer will give rise to many more questions. An even deeper layer of answering would be; it`s all illusion mate, but that`s too way up and not even really answering the question. So from our place of being, regarding the average person visiting this website my best answer to the question is it`s all due to karma. And from there say a little bit more about the aspects of karma. It`s not the only answer but to me the best answer in this context.
  4. @Toby Imo he is very enlightened, but he may have some or a lot of unconscious stuff going on. As every teacher has. That would make him not enlightened...
  5. @Lorelle It`s an easy trap now a days, master yourself and you are able to help others.... But what about, by helping others you are may be helping yourself also? It`s even a divine mission; karma-yoga. Your heart-chakra will blossom up.`Life purpose will be there...
  6. It was fun to read mate! what about break-ups when your over 25?
  7. To my opinion that guy is not enlightened, but a real smarty. To listen to, for example, Mooji is quite a difference. He makes you joyful and warmhearted. This guy makes me tired and bored.
  8. Thanks for sharing, great to read your experience. One comment on the turquoise; Wilber states that every individual has around 26 developmental lines who develop independent of each other. It`s like a more developed perspective of the Grave`s model. That`s why it`s better to use Spiral Dynamics for cultural development only.
  9. @Toby You show you are not well informed my friend. I suggest you`ll take a good watch at the numerous websites of The Art of Living, depending on your country. For a Sudarshan Kriya course you`ll have to pay an amount depending on your country and welfare. Money is never an obstacle for not joining in. People in third world countries can join them for free. Furthermore; all the profit goes to social projects around the world. Again check out the websites including the IAHV. Today The Art of Living is the greatest volunteer based Ngo of the world. And about the course; it seems logical that when one wants to eliminate real trauma`s, cleansing up your entire system, one is better off with a profound teacher around who knows the ins and outs about what is happening. It`s no you tube happening... And the teacher is a volunteer. He/she took the teacher-course voluntary, he/she will teach you the technique voluntary, and he/she will be grateful to explain to you the joy and happiness about voluntary jobs you can do for your fellow human being.
  10. Leo `s course is especially made for you..!
  11. Filling up your stomach for 60% once a day in the late afternoon is enough, besides something small in the morning. Off course you should not have a physical job. Important is though to get the right proper food. I have great experiences with Ayurvedic food, 100% satvic food. Check out the internet for that.
  12. `The Boss` with, to my opinion, his very own created bhajan. The video is great with images of his fans, who are so hopeful, thankful and joyful. Shivers down my spy... and a deep bow to a enormous friendly rocker.
  13. That`s not science. It`s a mixture of thousands years old Hindu-knowledge with certain beliefs, claims and divination.
  14. With meditation you have to deal with layers of experience. You dive deeper and deeper and in a way every layer has it`s own lila-point. The Buddhist would say it`s total emptiness, the Hindu would say it`s total fullness. Both are right. It`s non-existence as well as the only existence. I think you`ll get the point, right?
  15. @cetus56 Well, the personal mind has a beginning and an end, so it is a relative existence which finally means non-existence. Imagine the lila-point as the black hole of the mind. You can extend your mind and the ego till it finally dissolves in the big mind with spiritual practices. The other way is to increase your mind and the ego, finally into the lila-point, lets say the black hole, where it will get destroyed and from where transcendence takes place. The first one being the `easy` way, the second one being the hard way. The lila-point is the point from where the `divine play` arises from. It is the centre of existence.
  16. Whenever you want something really bad it means you think about it a lot. A strong will is nothing more than a repeating thought... With meditation you are able to get insight in those patterns of the mind, so you can become independent of them. In a way wanting all kinds of stuff is limitless. Understanding is the key. In many cases there is no clear `why` to the wants, just an ego-joke.
  17. @Toby You have to learn it from a qualified teacher, so you need to take a course.
  18. The best tool I am aware of with dealing trauma is a technique called the Sudarshan Kriya. You`ll learn a immense powerful breathing technique which will cleanse your entire system. The big advantage here is that there has no re-living to take place, the cleansing goes smoothly and effortlessly. It`s healing power is widely recognized, governments around the globe are now providing it for their vets and even prisoners. It is provided by the NGO called The Art of Living which is widely spread throughout the US. Check their website for more information and the theory behind it.
  19. Lila-point is the centre of consciousness.
  20. Freedom and discipline are opposites and they are also complementary. The purpose of defense is to protect freedom. But is there freedom in defense? Do soldiers have freedom? No, they are bound, not allowed to put the right foot down when told the left foot. Their steps are measured; they are unable even to walk with a natural rhythm. There is no freedom in defense, yet this is what protects the freedom of the country! Freedom without discipline is like a country without a defense. Discipline protects freedom. They both go hand in hand. Understand this and move ahead in life. You have certain restrictions that allow you your freedom. You can focus either on freedom or discipline, and be happy or unhappy. Fences have a definite place and purpose. If you build a fence all over the entire property, then where will you put your home? Yet a well placed fence protects the property. Love puts you on track. Fear also puts you back on track, as is the case with religions that have put fear as the main motivating force. Nature itself induces fear in a child at a certain age. A child has no fear when very young; he gets 100% love and attention from the mother. But as he grows more independent, nature brings in an iota of fear; he learns to become cautious. With increasing freedom, the child learns to walk more carefully. There is a state of absolute freedom, unlimited bliss, the freedom Advaita* talks about. But the Advaita Knowledge has been totally misused according to people’s fancies and conveniences. We need to be very practical. There must be freedom in the mind, love in the heart, and discipline in action. Fear of losing freedom brings discipline and defense. And the purpose of defense is to eliminate fear. *On this Path, Knowledge is your freedom - and also your defense
  21. Yes. When the mind moves back to the Lila-point, it`s increasing. The more it`s increasing, the more it`s empty. Till it vanishes totally. This is what the jnani-yogi does and he will enter the dark night of the soul. From that point transcendence has to happen, but that`s bliss.
  22. In the past I quit a lot of relationships or changed them to an infrequent level. Imagine how you deal with a ten year old child. You don`t tell everything but you stay friendly with him and may be try to point at certain things. In that case you should not have any expectations, it is like it is. The red line in all human relationships is the way you express all the aspects of the human values. That`s also the main thing how people will remember you. During the years I have changed from being the black sheep in my family to a person everybody seems to love. Though I know no one is really capable of understanding me, they all come for advice or just to express their lives. At first try not to proof anything, just be and time will be on your side.
