  1. Everytime think somebody bring this karma bullshit idea I like to think about the holocaust Innocent people suffer awfully so dont´be so arrogant.
  2. what is the teaching of this exactly? can you understand infinite trough words? Was this video actually useful for you or anybody? I mean in a contemplative way, not as intelectual understanding.
  3. He talks about non-dual stories for hours but if you question it, the answers is go and find by yourself. This doesn't make much sense. If the point is to be open and investigate by yourself, then why does he tell us all that stories about infinite, non duality, love etc?. These are all IDEAS (from his trips or whatever) not direct experience. Once you put direct experience into words it is not direct experience anymore, it is a story. So basically the audience is intellectually learning that lessons.
  4. Because inifnite is one of the labels mystics use to describe consciusness. His insight make sense. I don't think you can see Jesus permanently while you are sober.. However you can see reality as infinite permanelty if you are aware enough.
  5. Did I try to debunk insights about God? wtf I think you totally misunderstood my posts in this forum. Maybe because of my dry way to write. I just try to express differente perspectives that make sense to me. I am not 100% sure about anything and I am open to everything. Thats how contemplation and also science work. I didn´t say the guy is deluded nor @DoTheWork by the way.
  6. The user DOtheWork recently created a thread, and unfortunately it got locked as soon as I posted my reply, so I have to post it here: @DoTheWork This is NOT "total awakening". When one is always living in the present in the moment, boredom simply doesn't exist. This is a classic example of ego thinking it totally "awakened". Take a break from psychedelics and work on observing your own ego-mechanism. This is a very serious issue, because a lot of people with big "spiritual" egos who start doing powerful psychedelics, very frequently delude themselves during the trips. What happens? The ego sneaks through the backdoor and starts to overtake the narrative. People report "channeling", talking with "entities", , living in many different dimensions at the same time, etc - not recognizing the imagery that they see and experience during the trips is just part of divine imagination. Because of this, a lot of people including LEO, delude themselves very heavily and think that they have "directly" experience something, when it was just their ego operating. (example: Channeling God, keyword "channeling" ) This is coming from somebody who has done a lot of psychedelics (including 20 5-MEO DMT trips and 40+ N, N-DMT). It is a huge trap (one of many), that even LEO as you can see is not immune to. whoareyou Posted September 17, 2019 (edited)
  7. It would warn you to not take too much pschycodelics and keep traditional path. I don´t see any of those arkah theravada guys saying they desire they didn´t have all that experiences and go back to their ordinary previous life.
  8. They are actually the same. You are looking for the same even when you have two labels for that. You are looking for Happiness (enlightenment) = Truth (understanding) = God
  9. so, did you do it and achieve enlightenment? otherwise how do you know it is the best way?
  10. Can awareness without any object be experienced? For example, coma or Emptiness meditation can't be experienced. According to the Buddha and Nagarjuna no, Absolute and Relative are the same, so Consciusness is always conditioned by objects. There isn't awareness without objects. The Absolute doesn't exist. The Buddha denies that there are some God/Love/Absolute ontological principle. Indeed, he strongly fight this previous veda absolutistic point of views.
  11. I don't mean be aware of whatever randomly arise in your mind; I mean be aware of intentionally thinking to do some hard task. For example, planning and writing a university thesis. In this scenario, is there a different between think and contemplate thinking? When I drop all intentions it is easy to contemplate reality but when I have to do "mind tasks" I feel I lost aware of the present moment. To me it is like pushing in opposite directions: intentional thinking is desire to reach someplace and contemplation of present moment is the opposite.
  12. Yes. Still don't understand what is the point/goal of the thread.
  13. My mind is bringing dualities again and again. I can't control it.
  14. At the beginning of the journey, you thought you were your thoughts. Then you started to note/be aware of you thought and realized you weren't that, you realize there are deep stuff. The same happens with that experiences, you are sure that it is Ultimate Reality but it isn't because you can note it. There are another argument: If One/Pure Awareness could see itself, why would it create Relative?. Why aren't we eternally in that Pure Awareness that you are mentioning?
  15. Not in theroy, but empirically based on my observation. For exampe, most know intelectuals of my country (I can give you the names if you want) went from green to orange. They were basically hippies in the 60s and 70s but they grew and now they are liberals (libertarians, classica liberal, liberal-conservatives) whose discourse is basically focused on individual liberty. Could you name an intellectual who was libertarian and now he is green? I can´t find anyone. Also, I observe most people evolve from green (teenagers and 20s) to orange and not the other way around. In fact there is a saying that goes like this: If you were not left (green, hippie, collectivist) when you were young, it is because you didn't have a heart, if as an adult you are not right wind (liberal-conservative, orange), you are stupid. How do you explain that? According to spiral dynamics they went backwards but it is pretty clear that they are more mature now. This is just one of the inconsistencies of Spiral Dynmics. I have a lot more. As time goes on this theory makes less sense to me. It has holes all over it.
  16. You have the memory of that experience, so there there was somebody/something there to experience that experience, so whatever it was you went through it was not One/Pure awareness.
  17. It's also important to note that the Mahasi tradition teaches us to systematically develop the ability to access nibbana, aka cessation or fruition. Many people, including myself, have trained in this way, and their reports are remarkably consistent; there is no experience in nibbana. You simply lose consciousness. I realize this isn't very romantic, and I apologize for being such a bubble-burster, but there it is. Kenneth Folk
  18. Buddha point of view about God would be something like what you called God is still an experienced (can be noted). Give to this experience an ontological status is methafisical thinking, not experience. This is the most honest and radical way to understand reality. The tricks of mind are infinite. Absolutism has some degree of wishful thinking when not power purposes. I sceptic about this point of view, just exposing it.
  19. No. Buddha original teachings (theravada buddhism) is not what mainstream commentators think. I study the topic from the most advance researchers and that is what they conclude. I can share with you the sources. Buddha strongly fight spiritual Absolutism.
  20. If they are dogmatic about the taxes is because they rationally get to some economic principles which is convenient follow under any circumstances. There is actually a higher degree of rationality involved in thinking under a system vs think without system. It is not a dogma like religion
  21. Define the distictions between orange and yellow according to you clearly please, in order we can continue the discussion
