  1. This is a person that doesn't care about what's accurate and just wants to reinforce pre-existing convictions. And this guy has told me to be mindful of my own biases and paradigms many times in the past, yet doesn't follow his own advice, so take anything @integral says on this subject with a pinch of salt, he knows nothing about veganism. He just wants to keep finding excuses to stay as he is because he's too used to his current lifestyle. @The Caretaker I've been vegan for over 7 years. Bloods tests fine, feel fine. Have met plenty of people the same. I'm open to the possibility it may not work for everyone though. People's bodies are complicated. The best advice I could give op is to use a website like Chronometer and input your daily diet into it, and should show you what you're getting enough of and what you're not. Try to mix things up, get blood tests if you can to see if you are deficient. I don't know where OP lives, so maybe his options aren't so great, so tbh eating some animal products may be necessary for some people. I supplement Omega 3, but that's about it. I used fortified Milks for B12 and Vit D. The reality is it's a fact that you can meet your needs if the environment allows it.
  2. They don't think it will happen to them I guess.
  3. Sounds like you've turned meditation too much into a goal oriented thing. Just let what happens, happens. Letting go matters.
  4. Allow the science to guide you to what might be true, and find out what's true through your experience of what works for you.
  5. I've seen plenty of people do fully raw vegan and suffer tremendously despite claiming to get tonnes of calories and also meet their nutritional requirements. It's not a good idea, don't do it. I've never seen a single good example of a raw vegan proving why their diet is superior to others in practice rather than just in theory. They all look like they age very quickly around their 30's/40's. I'm saying this as a vegan also who easts mostly whole foods. A good mix of cooked and raw foods is the best. Oats, cooked vegetables, Tofu, Beans, Cashew milk. Nothing wrong with these. Even if it is possible to meet all your requirements on these things, you have to eat MASSIVE portions and it looks expensive, not practical, and really unpleasant also.
  6. The behaviour I see in this video I've seen come from many narcissists I've met in my life. They devalue and humiliate their partners in front of a social group. I've seen quite a few of her videos online, and they are helpful, but whenever I get a glimpse of her unscripted, I get red flags constantly. I want to know if this is me misinterpreting this behaviour, but this person seems extremely insecure.
  7. Sure but when the accusations and evidence start to pile up. She's quite grandiose, and has made plenty of grandiose claims about herself. She says she's a spiritual teacher yet seems extremely insecure beyond belief.
  8. @integral @Judy2 Start from about 1:45 and just watch for like 5-10 minutes. It just feels like she hates even being around the guy.
  9. I will be nice and try to remember your pronoun, just don't shit on me when I forget because I'm doing this as a favour to you, it's not something I'm obliged to remember. This is your preferred language, not mine.
  10. They only thing in life worth valuing is the quality of experiences of living beings, there's literally nothing else. I only care about people because they can experience things, positive and negative. That's the only reason I value their lives and respect their rights. Since animals have the capacity to feel, I respect them and prefer not to hurt them unless I have a very good reason
  11. I appreciate your honest response about this.
  12. Don't expect me to provide a detailed response if you've literally just googled "Why not to be vegan" and just copied and pasted a crappy response like this. I've been vegan for 7 years. I've got blood tests. I'm not deficient in anything. Veganism is not a nutritionally deficient diet, and world health organisations have recognised it as a nutritionally sufficient diet. You can get everything you need from plants. Why do you need to justify your food choices based on what you can theoretically do without - Because eating animal products and contributing the exploitation of animals without a very good reason is immoral and also bad for the environment. The fact that you have to ask why a Vegan would typically go vegan makes me think you've not really researched this subject, if that wasn't already obvious by your cut and paste crap above about what you supposedly cannot get as a vegan. Why do you have this slave mentality? Wtf are you talking about? Also I don't get any cravings.
  13. Vegan here Humans are opportunistic omnivores, we eat what we can get our hands on. That being said, you don't need animal products to meet your nutritional requirements if the plants are available to you, this is a fact. There is not a single thing that I cannot get while being vegan. All I need is 1-2 supplements and I'm fine. Been vegan for over 7 years, blood tests are fine. I get veganism is harder for some people, and not everyone's bodies react the same, so some people may struggle to make it work practically. I don't preach on anyone, all my acquaintances are meat eaters, I'm not a dick about it. Eating meat is not essential for a lot of people who have the plants available to them. It all depends on circumstance. If not fully vegan, then at least going more plant based would definitely be better for the environment. Omega 3 is often supplemented through cod liver oil or plant based alternatives. You're either getting it naturally from fish or nuts/seeds, and many people eat neither.
  14. Hi, I've been trying to resolve my mental health issues, and now live a super healthy lifestyle. No alcohol, no drugs, no porn, minimal junk, no video games, no regular TV, I spend more time outside and eating a healthy diet etc. I've got to therapy but it didn't do anything for me. I found all these changes have made me feel better, however no matter how healthy, self aware, mindful I am, although I can feel some satisfaction from life, it never quite feels the same as it did about 10 years ago before the worst of my depression/anxiety kicked it. I remember how I used to live. I had some healthy habits, but I used to video game and drink regularly. I'm concerned I may have overstimulated myself into numbness, as it does feel like I am numb to life and no matter how healthy I live, I never feel as alive as I did when I was younger. I'm in my 30's now. I try to focus on moving forward, not looking back, but every so often I get moments of feeling alive and emotional, and now I realise I feel emotionless most of the time. Symptoms - - Low motivation. If I live healthy lifestyle, I can be somewhat motivated sometimes, but by default I feel very low motivation - Emotional flatness. - Higher levels of irritability. - Great difficulty feeling stimulated by life. Things don't feel exciting to me. If I live the very heathy lifestyle, I can appreciate what I have, and if this is the best I can get, then I can accept it and be grateful for it. It can take some satisfaction from life and not suffer much. But it's like around age 22-23 I switch flipped in me and I felt different for seemingly no reason.
  15. I don't understand how these two could possibly be mixed up.
  16. @leogura. You guys are missing the point of what I'm saying. You're taking the coin flip comparison too literally. I'm saying an uninformed person could have chosen the right side here, and I don't believe all the info regarding this virus was made available to make a truly informed decision. I'm saying that there was info available to take a risk on, but it was a risk either way, which is a reasonable position to have. Whether you took the vaccine or didn't take it, you were taking a risk. There are smart and dumb people on each side.
  17. The Whale. Those shrimps could feed many animals, not just one whale.
  18. You can choose how to manage them though
