  1. @Serotoninluv I was simply attempting to ask Leo if he abided with Absolute peace and happiness that comes with true Self-Realisation that all masters speak of. This Happiness is our nature, it is inherent in The Absolute/God/The self or whatever you want to call it, so to me, it’s almost like a litmus test for true self-realization and stabilisation there, and not just insights or awakenings.
  2. I agree with you in terms of the Francis quote below, and that realisation of I Am The Self/ Awareness etc and that’s ALL that exists is it. This is it. However, not every awakened being has this understanding. go listen to Eckhart or Tony Parsons Then go listen to Rupert/ Francis and you’ll notice subtle differences. I agree there’s an end to seeking though, and that comes with realisation of The Absolute, of This, and with it all concepts and notions of enlightenment and spirituality are simply destroyed. Anyone who says they are an enlightened person has much further to go. Enlightened people don’t exist, all that exists is The Absolute, and those who are conscious of this and those who it is veilled in. and, all that is left is THIS. It’s ridiculously simple, yet paradoxically can be so hard to “get.” But, God is literally staring us in the face in every moment.
  3. @max duewel I do around 1-2 songs worth, but I’ve been doing cold showers for 4 years since I found out they help acne and redness, now tbis is just added incentive! I’m going to try some 10 minute showers this week and hopefully an ice bath if I can make it work?? But I’d say start at 10 seconds at the end of your hot and work up to a 2-5 minute cold daily shower + mixed in some cold exposure challenges, as I go through the Wim Hof course I’ll update you guys
  4. 1 Week update. I recommend 1 session of 4 x 40 breaths on an empty stomach, followed by a cold shower to work best for me, doing it at night gave me too much energy! Still have a second cold shower at night though, won't be stopping that Going through week 2 of Wim's course now so will update. Also, from the PDF going to try a 10 minute cold shower this week, now that will be fun.
  5. @Raptorsin7 There’s not that many typical teachers who offer it, many stick to talking to a large audience as you can reach more people easier and when you have 1000s of followers I guess it’s a lot easier, although it’d probably be possible for Rupert and Co to do some 1-1, but maybe it’s just not for them. Also, people have a lot of resistance paying for 1-1 sessions, not sure why when they can be so beneficial, I guess it’s because back in the day Jesus and Buddha and Ramana were giving it all away for free, however, they also weren’t living in 2020 in the west, but I do understand people’s concerns. But, that goes out the window if people are then willing to pay 1000s for a retreat, and maybe that’s why big teachers don’t do 1-1, I remember Eckhart saying he had 4 million sitting around in the bank. Although, that must of been a shitty deal with his publisher, he’s sold millions of books ? Also, say your retreat can hold 50 people and each person is paying £1000 for the week for accommodation, food and teaching. Say you pay the hotel, £600 per person to cover the room and food for a week, that’s not a bad profit left over for a weeks work? Average 1-1 costs like $100-200 say, that’s 100-200 hours of work to make the same amount, these Non-Dual teachers must be loaded ?
  6. @Serotoninluv I wasn’t talking about human happiness, Or a happiness dependent on anything whatsoever though. More, the “happiness” inherent in The Absolute, and inherent and the Realisation and abidance as The Absolute. I also agree it goes far beyond happiness, And awakening is simultaneously very destructive and can have serious repercussions on your “human” life, that’s part of truly accepting and integrating the understanding. I’m not saying it’s all sunshine and rainbows, far from it. In fact, I agree more teachers should be honest about this. My teacher ended up leaving her marriage, creating issues with her children, and cutting contact completely with her family for many reasons and completely starting a new life that caused a LOT of issues relatively speaking, of course none of this was an issue for The Absolute. Im also not sure why everyone got so defensive, I just asked a simple question to Leo, as I wanted to know his answer. I didn’t comment at all on his path or his deepest desires, it’s his path and I respect that, and whatever he decides to “pursue.” And for you, I completely respect that, and I wish you well in healing the issues you spoke off in relative life, I know health and personal issues can often drag one Down, always here if you need someone to chat to man ??
  7. @Leo Gura I just have one question for you Leo. Are you happy?
  8. @Beginner Mind there’s plenty of teachers out there who offer it I think even our own @Nahm does ? But, yes of course I’m not doubting Rupert you know how much I love him! I just feel it could be hard to to “all the way” without additional guidance in some cases
  9. @Beginner Mind If I’m honest I didn’t find that practice much help from Rupert, for me it took working 1-1 with a teacher and working through certain blockages and sticking points, basically a whole process of “unlearning.” That’s kinda wbu o moved away from Rupert and mainstream teachers, they only offer retreats, which are great but I see 1-1 as like 1000x more effective. it’s like Being taught a sport 1-1 compared to in a group, you’ll get much more out of it in a 1-1 setting for sure, as the session is dedicated to you and your game in that case and what you need to work on. Let’s just say there was a lot of storms before the sun came out for good, it wasn’t as simple as clicking my fingers, I know for a lot of other people it’s similar, whereas, some are lucky and “get it” instantly, that wasn’t me! As @Nahm said Being is all there is, it is just often Veilled in 99.9% of beings.
  10. @Beginner Mind Eventually awareness “fuses” the background and foreground and you simply abide as The Self always. Hard to put into words and that’s probably a shit description. Put simply, Yes, there is a peace and happiness that never leaves. But it’s not like the happiness of your sports team scoring a last minute winner, more of a subtle absolute peace and happiness that never leaves.
  11. Remember awakening is all about unlearning and realising THIS is it, concepts are great to help on the journey, but as always the map isn't the territory. Just be without expectations and paradoxically the peace and happiness will arise naturally, from abiding as what you are.
  12. @Tanz For sure man! @andyjohnsonman It's awesome isn't it! I think I've actually been overdoing the breathing and am just going to do 1 session of 4 rounds x 40 breaths going forward, but will do 2x cold showers because I think I'm a bit addicted to them @remember Defo, ease yourself into cold exposure, no need to go climb mount Everest in shorts on Day 1, although I think Wim does that to create hype and attention around the method and to get people intrigued, and maybe he just does it for the fun of it!
  13. @mandyjw I get your point and I’m sorry about your experience, but I guess it teaches us to listen to our body, and know when enough is enough. I understand, but that’s the issue with going mainstream, in a digital world with attention spans of 2 seconds you have to catch people’s attention something like ”Breathe for 10 mins, then have a cold shower and you’ll have more energy and focus and help your immune system” doesn’t catch attention like ”How A FREE Breathing Exercise + Shower Method Can Help Make You Immune To Colds and Flus (And Heal 100+ Other Ailments)” So, it’s striking that balance, from most of my research the claims seem pretty backed up, but I do see your point big time of course, the funny thing is, he does none of the business work, it’s all his family, and if they have a % stake in the $$ that could be why? Although that’s just speculation. As with any teaching, take what serves you and helps you and leave the rest
  14. @Gneh Onebar It's crazy isn't it!!!! @nistake Glad to hear @Jkhv1 Yep, good points man @mandyjw Highly disagree, he done this for 20 years+ before he got any recognition, in fact he was depicted as crazy on Dutch TV, it's only the last couple years more and more people have got into it. I would suggest trying it or at least watching Wim before claiming that, seems very harsh @remember Sauna and Ice Baths are awesome! Although saunas will be closed down for months I imagine @electroBeam good luck @Epikur Hmm thanks for the video, but I haven't noticed that yet, I'm still sleeping around 11PM and waking at 6:30am, defo noticed more energy but not lower intellectual capacity. @remember Thanks for the info, and yes ALWAYS listen to your body! @en-el hak Interesting, studies on him and his students showed the opposite, so I'd like to see references on that.
  15. @andyjohnsonman Start with 10 seconds at the end of your normal shower, then keep adding 10 seconds per day, until you can have 1x fully cold shower for 2-5 minutes, you'll hate it at first, but I LOVE them now, I just need to find a way to create Ice Baths, as I've heard your not meant to do it in your normal baths @andyjohnsonman yes that's awesome, tracking the breath hold like a weight training session almost. @Harikrishnan Yep it's awesome, don't back out of the cold showers though
  16. @Consilience Easiest way is to follow his guided breathing, 30 full deep breaths no break between inhale and exhale, then there is a period of holding your breath between each round- 1 minute, 1 minute 30 seconds and 2 minutes his course has 4 rounds of 40 breaths and the holding breaths time period is then 1minute 30 seconds, 2 minutes and then 2 minutes 30 which is seriously hard. I would say do the longer in the morning once you are used to it, do the longer one followed by a cold shower and then in the evening do the shorter breathing followed by another cold shower. Really helping me, it’s awesome!
  17. @d0ornokey Maybe as a beginner that wouldn’t be best, I’m not sure how that would effect the body, so I can’t say, just check out Wims stuff on YT for more Info man @Visionary That sounds like an awesome practice bro, especially during the breath hold .
  18. @Gneh Onebar yeah man cold exposure is the really fun part, although not many would agree there! don’t get me wrong it’s a challenge but it’s a fun one!
  19. Like Pluto said, ultimately ZERO difference, The Absolute will still be The Absolute whether it's just 1 person conscious of this or 7 billion. Relatively speaking, well, the 'world' would be a VERY different place.
  20. Awesome man! Hope you followed it up with a nice cold shower Also, when you're ready to step it up do the 40 breaths for 4 rounds with holding the breath for 1 min 30, 2 mins, 2 mins and 2 mins 30
  21. @Leo Gura I just made a thread on it, his YT one is 3 rounds of 30 breaths, and around 10 minutes, then I'll have the cold shower for 2-5 but I've been doing them a while and I'm weird and love them now In his course, the 'longer' one is 18 minutes, and 4 rounds of 40 breaths per round with 'no breathing' time of 90 seconds, 120 seconds, 120 seconds and lastly 150 seconds (I can't do this yet) I'd say start with the 11 minutes one, and try to turn your shower cold for just 10 seconds and work it up. If you like it maybe get his course it's like 50% off due to Covid-19 atm, I'm on week one. The third component is the stretching/ meditation/ mindfulness work which you probably won't need really as you already do it. The biggest thing for me is how much energy and buzz it gives you so early in the morning, and it makes you feel amazing.
  22. @Leo Gura Honestly, I was skeptical that a bit of breathing and cold showers could help that much, but I thought I'd give it a go and am doing it morning and night, and fuck me, it seems like something that should be taught in high school. Wim is a genius, to say the least, I also like how he's appealing to the mainstream by being scientifically tested on left, right and centre so all the practices are 'scientifically approved' which is like a Stage Orange society's dream. I'd love for you to do it every morning for 30 days and report back any changes you notice, actually just got an idea for a thread.
  23. @Leo Gura didn’t know where to message you so thought I’d put it here. have you tried Wim Hof Method to help you heal your thyroid and other issues, I know he’s helped a lot of people with issues that just wouldn’t go, and the Breathing + Cold Showers can’t hurt with this Virus going round, especially the breathing. Over the last few weeks I’ve been practicing since Covid came over to the UK, and it’s helped clear my sinuses and boosted my energy hugely, id recommend it to anyone, especially during this time. here’s the basic breathing, and the cold shower is simply starting with 10 seconds, working up to 2-5 minutes, combining the 2 is like a mini high. https://youtu.be/tybOi4hjZFQ
  24. @Salvijus what else does he say? Insomnia And “energy issues” is exactly what Martin Ball is going through after years of 5MEO abuse. I personally have no issue with Psyches, but surely there’s a reason 99.9% of teachers warn against abusing them?
  25. @fridjonk No, it was actually me that brought up the conversation as I suspected for a while that Leo wasnt, I’m not doubting he’s had awakenings on these trips, but that’s very different to abiding as The Self. Plus I’m not talking about the most awakened being of all time, I’m merely saying Leo isn’t, I don’t really see a need for a “most awakened being of all time” like I said there’s simply those that have recognised the truth of their own being, awareness becoming aware of itself. And, I never said it mattered or had authority, and I am not saying they have anymore authority, I am just saying what we discussed, you’re free to disagree with me, it’s up to you what teacher resonates with you, I’m just sharing what I think about this. And, sorry Leo doesn’t come across at all as the most awake being of all time lol. Yes, I am aware I’m biased to what helped me awaken, I am aware that all of reality is simply imagined and a dream, and is simply The Self, and yes I am aware I am very early in integration work and have a lot of integration work to do. Just to be clear I only link teachers to reflect my direct experience, maybe I should stop but I just feel since they are more experienced in verbalising these teachings they can often say things better than me, not as a means of giving away authority. There’s a reason I only usually link teachers such as Rupert, Francis, Ramaji, Ramana etc as these are Self-Realized beings, not simply awake. And, yes of course the 2 images you presented are equally beautiful absolutely speaking, I see what you tried to do there of course ? And, just to be clear I have ZERO problem against Leo at all, and I have repeatedly praised many aspects of his work, I am merely pointing out the issues I can see arising and why I don’t think he’s as awakened as he says he is, sorry. And, like I said, if you believe he is, that’s up to you. And to your highlighted point, it is simply Consciousness becoming aware of itself and waking up to its own being.
