  1. I've started writing some random shit in my spare time relating to awakening & what not, mainly for myself and just a way to journal, but I thought I'd share this as I think it could help some people (hopefully) Self-Help (Self-Actualization) & Awakening ARE Compatible… Wait a minute, isn’t Self-Realization the realization that the separate self / little me / ‘Ego’ you believed yourself to be all these years is a bunch of bollocks, a mere concept & thought that you’ve kept running for X amount of years. It has never existed in it’s own right & never will. Yes. Put simply, it’s not only the realization that Awareness / The Self / The Absolute (I will use these 3 synonyms throughout these writings to refer to the un-nameable truth of your being, the ‘good’ Voldermort if you will) is what YOU are, but it is what literally EVERYTHING is, The Self is quite literally ALL that exists, for nothing but the Self could exist, when you investigate this deeply. BUT, that doesn’t mean you suddenly become beyond human, or float off into space (maybe if you went for Mahasamadhi ?), no if anything it makes you more human, and more able to authentically express your individuality & your personality. Except you no longer identify as them. In fact, the concept / function of an ‘Ego’ is actually very beneficial for the practicality of living. I mean without the ‘Concept’ of Charlie where would employers know where to send your money, who would the delivery driver to deliver your Food to? You get my drift. The problems arise when we then entangle this with who we essentially are, then the I-thought is born, and as they say the rest is history. Only when we investigate this I-thought, it’s source & return it, to its source as we then able to bask in the joy of our true nature, while living as an authentic, unique, human that this understanding, happiness & love expresses itself through. Anyways, returning this to the topic at hand, on why they are compatible. See, ‘Self-Help’ is so broad, I actually recommend this video for realizing the breath and depth of the topic- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJXthKsytpE As you can see, 35+ subfields of Self-Help! Awakening alone isn’t going to make you a master of money, a health expert, an athletic beast, a productivity dynamo, a sex god, a tech wiz, a marketing master and so on and so on. Awakening can certainly help with many topics related to Self-Help, but to think you won’t need further guidance and help on many of these, is simply naïve. What genuine awakening will do, is stabilize you in genuine peace & happiness, absolute fulfilment. Meaning, you will no longer use any external means- money, people, objects, knowledge- to try and fill that existential void we all know so well. For example, when teachers say ‘the end of Desire’ (Buddha, Francis Lucille often says the end of Fear & Desire) they mean the end of seeking fulfilment & happiness as a separate entity which is perpetuated by endless desire. Then, desire simply arises from fullness, from happiness, as a means to express itself and have some fun! Oh, and of course from love, think of how many people (unenlightened as well) eventually turn to a ‘life of service’ which is unique to each body / mind, but comes from Love! Life simply becomes a fun game, and unless you want to go and live your days in some sort of monastic community, or in a cave in the Himalayas, Self-Help will prove to be a great help to you, no matter where you are on the path. It will help you not only integrate your awakenings deeper and deeper through work such as Shadow work, releasing trauma, overcoming addictions etc but used in conjunction with true spirituality can literally create the life of your dreams. BUT, be careful not to use Self-Help for devilry, for example using the Law of Attraction so you can get a Bugatti to show off to your friends & make them jealous. (Nothing wrong with fast cars & nice houses, as long as they aren’t being used to fill a sense of lack!) And, since awakening leads to true happiness & the end of the sense of ‘lack’ and ‘resistance’ that we became so accustom to, it actually makes Self-Help SO much easier. It makes life effortless, because you are doing things simply because you want to, not because you feel you need to, to find happiness or fulfil yourself. In fact, I would also say, realization of the Self makes ‘you’ MUCH more powerful in your abilities to create your dream life, become the best version of yourself & be a force for good in the world, since you are no longer depending on a non-existent personal entity for your motivation & drive, but quite literally have the Universe at your disposal. One catch though, you won’t get away with a lot of the shit ‘normal’ people do, as your actions come from Love, Happiness & Truth, So, don’t think that awakening means an end to the game of life, in fact it is only the beginning. And, it doesn’t mean Self-Help becomes useless, although maybe we could come up with a better term, since ‘Self’ tends to get a bad rap in spirituality, maybe ‘Life-Skills’ as that’s precisely what Self-Help is teaching, the valuable life skills & lessons that will help you live your best life. But, remember to live as & from the Self, not on behalf of a separate entity. Example 1- Earning money selling shitty products, then spending all of this money on prostitutes & shallow pleasures alone. Or, earning money consciously through a business / career that helps people & that you enjoy, making smart investments that creates financial freedom for you & those around you, sharing your wealth & being generous, becoming in touch with the natural law of abundance & desiring for the sake of sharing, not simply for the self alone. Using money not just for yourself, but also for the greater good. Self-Help can help you do both of them scenarios, they are 2 extremes, but it illustrates how different living from The Self is compared to living on behalf of a separate self. How Self-Help Helps Before Awakening While awakening can happen to ‘anyone’ at any time, many beings quite simply are not ready for a true spiritual journey, in fact the majority of people aren’t. Go up to someone on the street and tell them the separate self they believe themselves to be doesn’t exist, and that they literally are Pure Awareness, and that you are them, and no other has ever, or will ever exist and they will call you crazy and carry on about their day. However, go up to someone, tell them they can use the LOA to manifest their dream life, that you can teach them to start a business, quit their job, optimize their health and find their dream partner and they’ll be over you like a rash. We’re all after happiness, and to find the source of true happiness we need to realize where happiness is not found first. But, while getting rich, or getting in shape won’t make us ‘absolutely’ happy, they certainly will make someone feel better, relatively speaking, compared to being obese & broke. Also, many topics of Self-Help are often infused with quote on quote ‘Spiritual Practices’ such as Meditation, Gratitude Journals, Overcoming Addictions (12 steps is VERY spiritual / religion based, just look at Russell Brand), releasing Trauma, dealing with emotions, Mindfulness etc etc. Practicing these will help someone ‘get in touch’ with their True Nature on a regular basis, and will help them progress on the path so to speak. Not only that, there are many foundational habits that I believe really help someone on their own spiritual journey, and just in life in general as I have outlined above. Not only that, having these solid foundations in place, gives someone the inner space & outer freedoms to pursue awakening wholeheartedly without extreme anxiety, worrying about paying their bills, or weight issues troubling them. So, Self-Help can act as a great pre-requisite for awakening. Then, post-awakening, this incredible life that Self-Help has helped one build can then be evolved to become a true expression of The Self, instead of a means to fulfilling a separate self, and can become an expression of love for life. The Business / Career, Relationships, Psychology, Fitness, Health etc can all be used in service of truth, and be used to not only better one’s life, but to help others. For there are MANY ways to express this understanding that goes way beyond the token ‘Spiritual Teacher’ role. In fact, as many more people awaken, we will begin to see awakened Personal Trainers, Therapists. Addiction Specialists, Businessmen, Relationship Therapists, Sexuality Coaches etc etc and having awakened beings at the forefront of these fields will only better them, to say the least. So, when people say it’s either Awakening or (Insert typical thing here) or that awakening means to end to any form of Personal Development, answer them, well you might see it that way, but I’m going to have both! As a quick aside, this doesn’t mean it has to be like that for everyone, each being is unique and has their own path, and many crave the quiet life, or the hermit life, or whatever life it is they want, and may not be interested in Self-Help at all, and that’s fine too. This is simply meant to show you, how you can pursue these if you wish, and how awakening & Self-Actualization are 2 sides of the same coin, and beyond that actually fuse into one epic coin ? Also, here's a link to the GOAT of this topic, Nahm's thread, he's the living legend in this realm-
  2. Here's the thread- Just bought myself a whiteboard, looking forward to delving deeper and deeper, it's very fun!
  3. @Thestarguitarist14 @SoonHei Agree, true creativity is literally created from source & comes from source, therefore it is an expression of this naturally.
  4. Seems like your morning routine is a bit much & overwhelming you. 2 hours for breakfast & getting ready? Couldn’t you like pre make a breakfast a few days in advance & shorten your time to get ready?
  5. Maybe you’re looking for a really long answer but I feel it’s as simple as this- When you are truly awakened, know yourself to be pure awareness & have stabilised in absolute peace & happiness, you are happy. From there you simply express this happiness, love, understanding in ALL areas of your life for the joy of doing so! You live from the heart & simply do whatever your heart “desires.” These desires are Gods / The Absolute / Awareness’ desires to express itself, and therefore, your happiness is not dependent on their fulfilment, and put simply life becomes a game, a joyous celebration, a permanent vacation as such. This doesn’t mean you have to teach, you can express this understanding in a multitude of ways & each being has their own unique way, it’s not WHAT you do, but WHY, and when the action is coming from love & happiness, you know it is a desire of awareness. You may become a gardener, an athlete, a coffee shop worker, but whatever you do will come from this place of love & naturally you transmit your understanding from a place far beyond words. So, what’s the point? To enjoy the game! you say you are completely happy & fulfilled, in the nicest way, if that was the case this question wouldn’t arise, as you’d be too busy enjoying & basking in your happiness! In terms of purpose, as you know all purpose is manufactured, as Leo presents in his LP course, maybe take that and that will help you find your unique way of expressing this! Once you truly know yourself, and abide as that, then whatever purpose you conjure up will be from a place of love & understanding, and that alone will make a beautiful & noble pursuit. BUT, you won’t need it to make you happy, as you say you are already happy, so you simply partake in it for the joy of it, for the love, for the desire to help people, in whichever way you do. The game of life is fun! This ended up being quite long haha, anyways, I recommend watching this interview- it will answer a lot of your questions- I would recommend from around the 30 min mark, where Francis says how his relationship with his teacher went from asking sincere truth seeker questions to eventually just a friendship revolved around enjoying life, after he was stabilised In peace & happiness. Thats the message, awakening is the BEGINNING of truly enjoying life!!
  6. @fridjonk Yep, and then when that “need” / “neediness” / seeking something in others drops away, true friendship can begin, if you so wish of course
  7. Wanted to share this awesome guy I found on London Real's podcast recently called Ed Mylett, a lot of you have probably heard of him before, but if not I highly recommend checking this guy out, especially if you want to smash those fundamentals and get your basics sorted out. He talks a lot about Purpose / Living your best life, not wasting your life, building those foundational habits, building wealth consciously, family, fitness / health etc. His brand is called 'Maxx Out' which sounds very Orange in itself, but to me it goes far deeper than typical Orange PD stuff and I think it would really help a lot of people here to learn and implement this stuff either way, I'm certainly learning a lot and implementing stuff into my life! 2 things in particular made me think he was a bit beyond Orange- He said something along the lines of that he always wants to be challenged by people and forever growing in all areas of life, never settle and always learning from life and people around him until he dies, which I found to be very inspriational. He also interviewed both sounds of the presidential debate and asked very impartial questions to give his audience a glimpse of both sides Here's the interview I first watched, and he also has a really awesome podcast with a wide array of guests, where he interviews high performers from lots of difference performance from a wife array array of life. https://londonreal.tv/ed-mylett-maxout-your-life-how-to-become-an-elite-performer-elevate-your-life-to-new-heights/ At the VERY least he has a LOT of healthy Orange aspects that we could all do with implement!
  8. ^^^ Do whatever the fuckkkk you want, it’s your life after all ??‍♂️
  9. @28 cm unbuffed Work hard, play hard. If you’re seriously focused at work you’ll have cycles where you have less time for fun in general, but then they’ll be cycles where you allow yourself to have more relaxation time & fun. Video games are just a form of fun, if you aren’t addicted and it’s improving your life than go for it. I play sports games socially with a few friends, Fifa if you’ve heard of it, but only certain game modes, there’s a game mode called “Ultimate Team” that is really toxic for getting kids addicted & getting them to spend £1000s to get the best cards, it’s essentially allowing gambling for U18s & that mode alone earns them billions, but I think they’re starting to investigate this. @HP Lovecraft I agree, video games are a form of art, unfortunately they have been taken over partially by Excess stage orange (just like other mainstream forms of art) meaning that some parts have become toxic, but that isn’t Video Games fault per se, it’s a side effect of the society we live in! Anyways sorry for the rant, just choose your games carefully and have fun!
  10. So true, Leo covered it partially in his Zen Devil video, and his LP course I'm sure expands on it a lot more. I think a lot of people on this forum look to build skyscrapers without having barely any foundations in place, and then wonder why it comes crashing down, or involves a lot more work!
  11. Wanted to share this book I read recently called: 'How To Own The World' By Andrew Craig, an amazing investing / personal finance book, that gives the perfect foundation for one to start their investing journey and it highlights how easy it really is to learn the basics of investing, and how not all bankers / city workers are evil, although there's a LOT of shit out there. The book teaches you how to start taking back control of your personal finances and start your journey to true financial freedom with just 10-20% of your income every month. I feel books / education like these really need to be taught more at school as 99% of people have no idea about how to grow their money, and the fact we basically have 0% chance of a state pension & that you need £750,000 to have an 'average' £30k a year salary during retirement. This book is particularly great for UK folks as it goes over ISA's, SIPPS etc and the best ways to invest in them all. Also, a great quote of his (paraphrasing) is that people often see money as the root of all evil, and that the Stock Market is only for the elites etc, when in reality, if more and more people were financially literate and understood money, great companies that are innovating and improving our world (like Biotech etc) would have much more money, and would be able to solve the world's issues faster. In fact, our financial illiteracy only feeds the real toxicity of society- Payday loans, insurance scams, poverty tends to lead to more crime etc etc Whereas, learning how to take care of your money removes SO much stress & anxiety, and allows you to focus more on what matters in your life! This is the book- https://www.amazon.co.uk/How-Own-World-life-changing-bestseller/dp/1473695309 And here's an interview with Andrew that I loved-
  12. @commie @soos_mite_ah That tweet to me shows a number of things- Young people fed up of being system slaves & doing soulless jobs A misunderstanding of Capitalism, and like you said using massive hyperbole The need for society to evolve into a much more human-centric form of Capitalism / Society, where $$$ aren't the only / sole focus, but actually creating impact, helping people etc is, Businesses aren't the issue, there are plenty of amazing ones doing great work, it's more how a business is run, it's missions etc, and excess stage Orange creates a lot of shit @soos_mite_ah I was in a similar situation to you a few years ago when I was leaving school. The thing I realized is you can easily create a business / career that is conscious, and that doesn't simply mean being a Spiritual Teacher, it could be anything. For example, you could work in finance, but work for a finance company that is dealing with innovative companies & progressive businesses, for example, I invest in a fund that literally does just that, they invest in the future essentially, in companies that are creating outstanding work. You could take this example, to the majority of industries out there, not all companies are toxic stage orange ones, and we need more people like you, like people on this forum, working / starting great businesses that are conscious and go beyond earning $$ alone. Remember, money is simply an energy, and believe me, it's better to master that energy, then be a slave to it, plus you can then use money for good, and to create financial freedom for yourself. @Preety_India 1) sorry for hijacking the thread to respond to that tweet! 2) I'm really sorry to hear about your family, and how they are imposing their beliefs onto you. Have you ever done an Enneagram test? You sound like you could be a Type 9, 'The Peacemaker' who craves peace & the simple life, Ramana Maharshi & Eckhart Tolle's are both 9s. That's the thing we often miss with awakening work, is understanding our own personalities and how that effects life post awakening & during consciousness work, there is no 'one size fits all' approach as we all have unique personalities and interests, and that's what makes life so beautiful. I would 2nd what a lot of people have said on here about the LP course, building the skills to create your own income etc, as this will help you find a job in line with your spiritual growth, and as I said above that could be anything, doesn't necessarily have to be 'Spiritual' on the surface, but, more how you perform your job & interact with the community & customers. Also, I know you have little interest in doing so right now, but you can still earn a lot of money from more spiritually evolved jobs, I mean Eckhart Tolle is worth like $70 Million these days I think lol, but of course if you have no interest in that side of life, that's fine too, each to their own I really hope you manage to resolve this situation, and I hope you find a career / business / job that really peaks your interest and that you love to do!
  13. @ivory I'd love for you to share your insights regarding friends & a fulfilling social life, sounds like a really interesting read! Not sure why everyone has gone into defense mode regarding friendship, like anything it can be one of the most beautiful aspects of your life, or a toxic drain, all about finding a balance that works for you and friends you can trust and build deep connections with. If you don't want friends at this time in your life, then don't form any friendships. But, true friendship really is one of the more beautiful things in life, but I love socializing so could be slightly bias! However, the point you don't 'need' friends is true but extends far beyond Friends in terms of awakening / Self-Realization. When you are stabilized in the peace & happiness of The Self, you then don't 'need' anything for your happiness as your happiness isn't dependent on anything. BUT, it doesn't mean you suddenly stop doing anything (you can if you want!) it just means life instead becomes an expression of this peace, happiness and love you feel, and you do things for the love of them, instead of seeking happiness in them. So, this makes the possibility for true friendship much likelier as you aren't trying to gain anything from your friends, you are just celebrating life with them, and forming a friendship for the fun of it, and your happiness isn't dependent on it. So while, yes you don't need friends, you can make that argument far beyond friends, and then Friends, Relationships, Activities etc simply become something we do for the love of it as an expression of the understanding.
  14. @SoonHei thanks man, if only I could take credit for it, but we both know that’s not possible
  15. @Seraphim Thoughts remain, but the Thinker / I-thought will be dissolved. Thoughts are not a problem, and in fact when they are your slave & not your master, they are very helpful, like a good tool. And, yes once you see through the I-thought it is like “permanent inner silence”, but probably not what you’re thinking about. There are thoughts, but when you fully accept and embrace them, there is no resistance to them, meaning thought is no longer an issue, same as feelings. Well yes & no, action is taken because you want to do it, for the joy and for the love of it! But, of course there is also still an element of routine & discipline, I still have set work hours, and plan in workouts & meetings etc, but you could say each moment is a spontaneous joy, and each moment is fully enjoyed and embraced. Remember, life is the perfect test for how integrated your spirituality and awakenings truly are!
  16. Great thread and I agree heavily, especially with your point about the dysfunction shown in the forum. I don’t understand why people want to transcend their humanness so much, why not both? I get if you don’t want to have friends, but awesome friends can really enrich your life. Personally, I think awakening actually allows us to experience deeper & truer intimacy with friends & romantic partners that allows to love even more & without the “need” for them to be happy, as our happiness is no longer dependent on external things, but our peace and happiness is found in the self. It sounds horrible to say to someone you don’t need them to be happy, but it truly allows for a much deeper & more intimate connection and actually allows you to be yourself! At the end of the day, if you don’t want friends nobody is going to force you to have them, if you want / have friends, enjoy them and be a good friend yourself
  17. can you send the link to sign up to his list?
  18. Personally I think this part of the path (the inward path as Rupert Spira calls it) is very necessary to help you realise your true being & your true nature, and begin to rest as that. BUT, remember spirituality isn’t about starving yourself of life, instead it’s about truly enjoying & embracing your life. So, you say about distancing yourself from loved ones, just be careful with that that you don’t become a plank of wood in the name of spirituality, remember to embrace and integrate infinite love into your practice and use this in your life & your relationships, you will gradually become more loving & intimate not less. Remember, awakening & abiding as what you truly are doesn’t mean you’re no longer human & have no individuality, in fact it’s the opposite you liberate yourself from the tyranny of the seperate self, and can finally be YOU without any restriction & you become MORE human, and more authentically you than ever before. I understand why you want to do this, and building discipline is key in any area of life, but be careful not to make spirituality into a suffering contest for yourself, you will hey much further lovingly inquiring and questioning who you are followed by abiding in that silence & resting as you are. Remebevr to enjoy life!
  19. I've seen this question pondered on here regularly, as well as in many spiritual seekers and communities, so thought I would share this gem from Rupert. Hint- Because you love to & want to, and it comes from your happiness, love & understanding Oh and practical reasons!
  20. @SoonHei Exactly! It's so counter intuitive as it actually frees you to enjoy whatever the activity / relationship etc is as you aren't asking this activity to MAKE you happy, instead you are already happy & are simply engaging in X,Y, Z because you want to. It sounds subtle but it makes such a huge difference in one's interaction with the 'World', activities, people, etc etc.
  21. I wanted to start this thread to discuss Money, a topic many people like to ignore in their lives and push it away. Firstly, we have 'Personal Finance' and learning how to become financially free, escape wage slavery, build good money habits etc. So, anyone who had any tips on this please leave below, it is important life skill if we want to remain in society of course. Then, we have the future of money & how it will evolve as society evolves into green & eventually tier 2. Of course you hear about the 'end of money' which sounds great (think Star Trek clip) but I feel is 100s if not 1000s of years away as would require a globally Turquoise society focused solely on the betterment of mankind. So, for now and the near future, I would like to have a discussion on how we can utilize money effectively in our personal lives & collectively, here's my ideas / topics of discussion: Creating your own wealth consciously either through a career / business / investments that actually help people and contribute to the betterment of Mankind. This could be anything from being a pro athlete in the sport you love & spreading love, to being a Spiritual Teacher and helping awaken people, to selling Yoga Mats online, we all have our own ways! Using money consciously- Supporting small business, helping businesses that are focused on betterment of society, investing in companies that are good for humanity etc Conscious Corporations- @Leo Gura covers this well in his Politics videos, but preventing Monopolies & making sure Corps are actually working for the good of society The Banking System- The whole system is very, very corrupt when you look into it, essentially there is never enough money in circulation to be paid back, so the banks always win, a little like Casino's and Bookmakers, something needs to be done about this, I can't imagine Payday loans will exist in a more conscious society lol. UBI / Survival needs- This will prevent people dedicating their lives to survival, like so many do now, it's just about how we implement it of course. Any other ideas anyone may have! I look forward to a fun discussion!
  22. Read No Mind, No Problem by Ramaji, this book & meditTuon teChnique helped me so much with this question, no answer here will fulfil you, you gotta find it out yourself...
  23. Logan’s development over the last few years is pretty crazy, I mean just look at how his brother still behaves.
  24. Just wanted to make this thread so we could all share motivation for exercise & healthy eating, as it is such a fundamental habit no matter what you are trying to achieve but one many can't seem to crack or fall back into old habits. We all know how great working out & eating healthy feels and is for us, but when starting we often need more than that. So, share your tips on how to make this a lasting habit, how to get into a routine of working out & any motivation habits you have. Of course, discipline always trumps motivation, but it's that first step to building that discipline that is the hardest part, then it becomes as normal as brushing your teeth! So, let's help everyone get this foundational habit sorted ti improve every other aspect of life.
