Do nothing is the same thing as mindfulness just without the noting method, where you label your thoughts and feelings so make them fall away faster . Neither one is for increasing states of consciousness. They are for clarity. Concentration meditation is more conducive to rapture and tranquil states, not for clarity but might be more "increasing" of a state although I don't think that is the proper word.

you're probably having a psychotic episode. It may be just temporary. Get some kind of psychiatric help or see your doctor asap. If it gets really bad they can give you some medications to stop the crazy thoughts. You don't necessarily have to stay on them but for a few weeks it could give you a needed break.
