brother I was not trying to argue about the degree of russian interference... That is up in the air, but given how tight the election was... I would not be shocked if it actually did make a difference... besides the point. You can discredit sources on an ungrounded basis if it is convenient in maintaining your worldview... facts are Trump's campaign was doing shady dealings with russia and there was russian influence in the 2016 election. I don't know why you are marginalizing the findings of the bipartisan intelligence committee, while seemingly putting so many chips in the mueller report and year old analysis surrounding it when it was not very comprehensive relative to the new report.... You call me childish and yet you say things like "in your opinion it is alright to put secretly recorded audios, emails, twist and put information as they want about Trump, but when it comes to showing dirt about Democrat party it now interference with election, ohh god. " I never said that was ok and I am against corruption no matter where it is. I never claimed to be "conscious and superior". I am not a democrat at all and am highly critical of their dealings. Notice how you are making all these stories up about me lmao. I want as much transparency and as many whistle blowers as possible-- on both dems and republicans... We are talking about trump's corruption bud. I am more than happy to discuss democratic corruption in another post. Get your head out your ass. -

@SunCat I do think that leo can at times come across as arrogant. That said, at least from what I have seen, he rarely has very hot takes from my perspective. This dude is wild for saying Jimmy Dore is more politically conscious than Leo. Leo said that Trump is the most corrupt president in us history. He also has said that other presidents such as Obama and Bush were also corrupt-- thing is they were not equally as corrupt. Also, recent evidence has made it clear that there was some level of Russia involvement. While Pelosi and co played it up way more than they should have... it happened. Leo doesn't just point out Trump as the only problem, he understands that the system selected Trump. Trump is the byproduct of late stage neoliberalism and a lack of proper education. Also, you can't say that democrats and republicans are the same. Yes, both serve corporate interests. That said, who is more aggressively trying to decrease taxes, cut social security, increase fracking, decrease regulations on corporations, cut education, cut infrastructure, nullify lgbt rights, create an american exceptionalism narrative, actively scapegoat the other side of the aisle as the root of all problems, discredit academia, bloat military? There are levels to this shit. degrees of corruption. It is very fair to say Trump is the most corrupt president in us history in terms of repeatedly violating the emoluments clause(signing arms deals with saudi arabia on their terms after taking bribes through his hotels for example), flamboyant nepotism, and stuffing his cabinet with lobbyists while simultaneously trying to create an image for himself that he is "anti-establishment". -

@Bodigger well, There is straight up recordings of him saying something along the lines of "If you didn't go to Vietnam, you could just go on the dating scene and get a medal of honor from that. More men Die at the hands of women than from Vietnam. " This man literally used his privilege to avoid fighting in that war. There is also video evidence of him calling John McCain, someone who was captured and tortured in vietnam for 5 years and refused to be saved unless they released all other men in captivity, a loser and tried to prevent the white house from lowering their flags for him when he died... These are a few examples and I have tagged some things below if you are interested. Is it that hard to believe that he would call veterans losers behind closed doors? -

@Bodigger So what criticisms of trump specifically do you think are unfair? -

@Rajneeshpuram Ok... you can criticize your country's response. Other countries such as New Zealand, South Korea, and Finland were transparent and quick to act on the matter. They were some of the safest countries during this pandemic. -

He could have followed suit as like every other competent country's leadership and said something like. "This is a serious situation. If we take proper precautions such as social distancing, quarantining, masks,, etc, we can mitigate the spread to keep our country safe and get back to business in less than a couple months. "-- compare that to what he actually did-- calling it a democratic hoax and saying it will disappear like magic. -

That is a good observation lol -
@MsNobody He doesn't hate women. He is just has more expertise in attracting women than attracting men, so of course he has more to say about the former. It sounds like your problem may be that you gotta find the right kind of guy. Where do you meet guys? night clubs may not be the right place for you.

@Leo Gura Leo, can you please consider blessing us with a conscious pick up vid? I think it is long overdue.

I think everyone is scrambling for Lebanon because it is a strategic location... everyone is tryna get something out of it... France, China, Russia. That said, I think that they are far less corrupt than the actual Lebanese government. -
TrustTheProcess replied to Focus Shift's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
@Husseinisdoingfine You can't just jump from capitalism to a truly egalitarian globalized economic system. It may be possible to have a democratic socialist system, but at the moment, we don't even have the material conditions to do so. Social democracy seems to be the most logical next step as we enter stage green. Personally, I think that we will never have a purely socialist system(the same way we have never seen a purely capitalist system). I think it is more likely to have a globalized soc democratic system with the floor of poverty being raised as technology and efficiency improves. Marx is one of the most brilliant social philosophers in history... that said, I think it is best to take his insights with a grain of salt and to not hyper-idealize the ism attached to him.
