@Leo Gura Is purity equal to nothingness? When I am pure, I will see you as an equal. Regardless of your past I would love you. If I was pure would I see others as myself? If I was pure, would this mean I have freed myself of transference? How does purity manifest in a human when we have animal instincts?

I personally 'over' buy books. I am also trying to map together a world understanding that allows me to Achieve my life purpose and live the best life possible. So, when I struggle with relationships I buy a book on relationships for example. Leo's list is great, and as you are developing your map take note of where Leo's booklist fits in the map of human existence and possibility. Thought: 1. Buy books relevant to the things you are interested in general 2. Buy books that answer questions you have, 3. Buy books about your dreams, things you liked to achieve. 4. Buy books that lay down programming for future self help books (I listed some I used) 5. Take risks when buying books 6. Read books counter to your opinions 7. Buy books that prep you for reading other books 8. Read books that focus on key areas of your life 9. Read books that are literature but use metaphor for expanding your big picture 10. Consider the 80/20 rule so you can focus on the key books that you will need. 11. Use apps like headway, 12min, and others that allow you to read/listen to microbooks that summarize the key points of books. This allows you to quick gain key insights of 5-10 books easily each week. 12. Read books that could potentially act as multipliers, worm holes, gateways, skeletal structures to in your life. Here are 3 books that I think will aid in peoples programming on how they choose books: 1. The Magic Of Your Personal Brain Power by Howard Vernon 2. The Code of the Extraordinary mind by Vishen Lakhiani 3. The First 20 hours: How to learn anything fast by Josh Kaufman In my opinion each book is worth looking up and reading because they lay down different frameworks for reading and personal growth. I'd love to go into greater detail about these books and how they have helped me! Hope this comment is of interest,

@Conscious life This seems like a very important topic: Let's open it up

@Patt Hey Patt! I am also 24, and also dealing with some things similar. From my understanding you are: 1. trying to build understanding of yourself, and what do with the life you have, 2. You are comparing yourself to others 3. You care what others think of you 4. You think that being 24 means you have to have life figured out 5. You are a creative 6. You are afraid to step out and try things 7. You waffle from one idea of doing to the next 8. When you imagine what you would like to do you instantly hide from it and distract yourself 9. You have internal dialogues of your elders, friends and family in your head who talk you down or out of choosing (This is transference) 10. You are highly motivated, capable, intelligent, young, curious, thinking, and you are asking questions and coming to this forum because at least part of you knows you can change, work on yourself and figure things out. My questions for you are: 1. What would you do if there were no boundaries at all? 2. What 5 things would you think might be worth doing? 3. What change do you wan't to see in the world? 4. Are you reading books and doing self inquiry. Are you aware of the relativity of life purpose? 5. Are you taking time to bring yourself into the present moment? 6. Have you heard of the notion of 'Taking small bets?' ---- I am in the same boat as you in many ways. I am young and I still have a lot of questions. I am also 24 and theres still things like: Education and finances: that I need to figure out in greater detail. I have taken my personal growth and life long education as the most important thing I can do right now. No life purpose, success, happiness, relationships etc can develop unless I actually develop myself to the level I need to be. Learning takes place when we consume and understand information, and we apply it to the real world. This is what I think we do at our age. We develop the best map possible: Read, consume information etc. And we apply it as much as we can to the territory: Applying for grants, meeting people, volunteering, taking risks, going to open mics, doing something just for the sake of learning from it. Become a student of humans nature, remember the 80/20 principal. All things I am trying. Though dropped out of school because I realized I needed to develop self knowledge, work through depression and anxiety etc (mystical experiences led me this way). I have read more books than most of my friend who are in school, have greater self knowledge, self motivated, I've developed habits, worldview, my metaphysics etc. And the universe is bringing my opportunities where my large picture thinking and softskills have managed to land me mentors who believe in my and I am developing more hard skills thanks to them hiring me part time. I will have to create my own path this I know. I am a visionary. It's scary, and I have a large amount of resistance to the call! Perhaps you are too! What is your hero's journey? I am on track in some ways toward moving toward my life purpose, theres still lots of questions, maybes, risks, and doubts. There is also the internal work of transcending the neurotic symptoms I've developed from trauma and years of poor self talk and self image. Over all, just eat grapes for now. Don't worry about the wine ahaha.

The video is very interesting. Has me feeling doubtful, annoyed... I flip flop back and forth. I refuse to believe. I will be comfortable in my confusion and not knowing. My defenses toward Leo are up. He is someone I put trust in over the past while as I worked on myself. This video... Has me questioning a lot of things. It's very interesting. -

Interesting Response. But of course I am stuck in cycling relativity as I process what I am reading. Ego needs say, I respect leaders who speak compassionately. This is Leo, just being himself and thats good. Not really high level, but casual... Note: Awareness, I identify as Vegan. I think Leo, Being selfless, understanding moral relativity... Leo can do anything he wants... It's all relative. We can all do anything we want. However, eating meat seems pretty selfish. Leo has researched food well and he knows. Yeah, we get it it's all relative it all collapses in the one. Doesn't mean this isn't part of a devilry. If you really ask yourself why am I eating this? Wouldn't you come to the conclusion that eating animals is devilry? How does someone purified act? How does someone who authentically love 'I' treat others and engage with them? These are things I am trying to figure out. I am a selfish devil. Ah thats right Leo. We are Devils. Don't tell me you are purified! Killing others for food. Love You Leo. -

"Human beings in a mob What's a mob to a king? What's a king to a God? What's a God to a non-believer Who don't believe in anything?" - No Church In The Wild by Jay Z, Kanye West, Frank Ocean, The-Dream Pretty good Rap lyrics! I agree that most of rap is stage Red. I've worked with a lot of artists from different genres and backgrounds. I shoot live music videos and put on live events. Most musicians I know, rappers or not have a range of values. I don't think they know themselves that will. They display values from across the spiral both as individuals and the whole of who've I've worked with. I am longing for more music that points to God like Rumi. Is stage red rap dangerous? I don't know. Though I do think we are in part what we consume. Every once in a while I like a good rap song! "Pull up like a demon on god, Lookin like I still do fraud, fly a private jet with the rod! - ZEZE by Kodak Black (:

@Yog I know when I was depressed, sad, lost and angry the music I listened to reflected that. I had come across some information that the quality of music we listen to can make us happy or sad. I started listening to happier music and I think it made me happier over time to be honest. Something uplifting everymorning instead of down dreary, or violent!

Reading this book at the minute! It's pretty direct book that gets to the heart of many of my relationship issues. It's been a grate asset to the foundation of relationship books I have read! I appreciate David's perspectives, and as someone who is actively integrating their masculine and feminine sides it has been a surprising map and mirror. It has helped me to make sense of previous failed relationships and gain more insight into myself. I am currently halfway. I can see this masculine feminine interplay already in the relationships that surround me. (Male) I have been realizing I have the capacity for both my core and sexual centres to shift between masculine and feminine. Dominant and submissive. I still have fear and egoic attachments to letting go of my negative motivation towards my masculine mask. Society shaped this ego to fear its full expressiveness. I know I have masculine and feminine elements and though not its intention has helped me to integrate further into my feminine shadow. I don't know what a human is, nor a man or a women. The goal is to step into my authentic power. The Avatar should be able to freely express itself in love.

So, recently on forums and Youtube comment sections I've noticed people presumptuously labelling other commenters stages of development. For example, I had a fellow who was positive because we didn't see eye to eye on the relativity of science (Me suggesting it was relative, and him... well I'm not sure) call me stage blue! ahaha I am noticing the problem with all these complex models, metaphysics, epistemologies, world-views, paradigms, spiral stages... meet that the variances of our own individual understandings easily leads to some sort of corruption. I am not convinced I understand spiral dynamics, though it seems rather intuitive to me. I still have much to learn as well. The idea of this thread is to discuss the problem of our own/ what we have observed of other's relative understandings, bias's, ignorances, blind spots, mistakes, misinterpretations of spiral dynamics, or other models in personal development/ social sciences. -What Stories do you have? -What questions do you have?

1. Mirror Mask and Shadow - Sheldon Kopp 2. The untethered Soul - Michael Singer 3. Linchpin - Seth Godin 4. Laws of Human Nature - Robert Green 5. The Magic of Your Personal Mind Power - Vernon Howard
-
1. Books read maybe, 50-100 I have to keep better track going forward Most impactful books... 1. The untethered Soul by Michael Singer -Helped me to bridge my intellect with my energy and understand my ego and awareness to a higher degree 2. Laws of Human Nature by Robert Greene - Helped me to understand a lot about human nature, and how to ego disrupts what would otherwise be happy and fulling lives and careers. I really enjoy the formatting of Roberts books. Each chapter has a biographical account related to a certain 'Law' followed by analysis, tips, psychology, how to integrate and transcend these traits within yourself as well as how to deal with others who are expressing negative traits/ laws 3. And recently I read a short and easy book by Vernon Howard called 'The Magic Of Your Personal Mind Power'. Super easy read, but with super practical ways of changing your thoughts and realizing how much power we have to control the course of our lives and actions. Great read! (Also his book The Mystic Path to Cosmic Power is a great intro/ refresher for those interested in mysticism that is practical) However, I don't think I can really give like my top 3 because I read books to solve problems in my live, and to expand my awareness map. Each books usefulness in my opinon exists because my mind is triangulating the book given my database with each book I read. Context changes with more insight over time. David Richo's books on relationships and past traumas have helped me, and Sheldon Kopp's book "Mirror Mask and Shadow" help me to accept and forgive myself for mistakes in the past, and to understand and forgive others in my life and society. Happy reading!

Use a short timer like 5 mins, and just don't stop till it rings! Start small. Then take 5 mins to recall what you read by writing it down! this will help you focus in small bursts and then train your mind over time to focus and remember what you read!

I am in the same boat, working on my purpose, writing tonnes of music, playing festivals, creating opportunities for artist, making videos for artists and business building habits, failing, learning, growing etc, etc etc. I'd love to make money from Youtube or Music, however, though I am seeing more and more progress and impact with my craft, my impact on audiences and my community still I am trenched in self doubt. Maybe I wont make a living from music, or youtube. But I know my life is to be an artist, or a linchpin and I want to give my gifts to the world and to serve others.

I find his new stuff to be hit or miss, but greatly appreciate his content! Some of his videos are the best chunks of info I've ever seen!

So, my father who is glued to CNN half his waking time says the impeachment hasn't changed his power as of yet, is that true? -
Hey, I have a fear of abandonment that is deep seated. I think I would talk to a professional or a councilor, as well as buy some books on the subject. Perhaps reading books on trauma, or even self love could help. I noticed on my path that books are great maps but are not the same as working directly with out nervous system. We hold a lot of memories in our body mind. I know I can lash our if I think people are going to abandon me. This is part of my work, as I still struggle with intimate relationships. Full on PTSD and I cant relax... But, I persist, and my gosh growth is so possible as long as you JUST PERSIST!! wooo
-
I think it would really help if you described the feeling! I think journalling is great, but I know people who work with their energies and nervous systems through different types of yoga. Chances are the work we do requires a holistic approach: Yoga, meditation, types of therapy and counciling, journaling etc. Leave no stone unturned. And dont believe the dogma, or darma that things can't change or get better. They do, you are on the heros journey.

For me, I've read some books on developing healthy sexuality and I think its all about moderation and balance. Perhaps, still talking to a therapist or councillor could help if you have deep seated issues like loneliness etc. Not a doctor, but I do not recommend celibacy. We are sexual being in my opinion. For me, I really struggled to do no fap. Though cutting down from 2-3 times a day I think was really healthy. I now have the goal for 5 times a month. Before it was LIKE IMPOSSIBLE NOT TO FAP AHHHH. I found that in my daily journal having a record of the faps I could reflect on helped. I actually think I had a specific note file on my phone.I would record the faps, and whether it was with or without porn. I began Setting goals that I thought were healthy. starting at 15 faps a month, then 10, then 5. For me I think that 5 faps a month really helped me to break free from porn and masterbation being unhealthy. And lately I don't record it because I think I've developed a healthy habit. Some months I would go over, but because I had a record I can take note of the things going on in my life both internal and external. EDIT: Also having a set amount of matches to burn was great, and even if I went over my 5 matches would reset every month so I wouldn't have to worry about going like, 90 days not expressing a natural urge. Ultimately, I wouldn't worry about it. Keep working toward finding that middle path in your life, and remember that Self Love trumps pretty much every other habit. And I am finding it to be the thing that allows the real development of a healthy life.

Yeah! I seems interesting, but the real idea is the grounding element. Just like how telephone wires are grounded. They also are able to measure it pretty easily it seems! -
Hey, Recently came across a documentary talking about the importance of grounding: Seems pretty intuitive that contacting out bodies to our larger cosmic body through the planet would have health benefits. Yesterday I was feeling down and I took some time to go grounding. I felt much better after about 30 minutes of grounding! I am considering purchasing a grounding blanket to use while I sleep. https://earthingcanada.ca/products/silver-plush-pad-kit/ Interested in other peoples opinions!

Woah, thats amazing. I really appreciate your engagement on this thread. I have noticed that I almost instantly recover from my backsliding now. In the past I would be broken down for days, weeks or even months...I am very excited. Very Grateful so far for this community! Looking forward to more engagement with you all!
