So, recently on forums and Youtube comment sections I've noticed people presumptuously labelling other commenters stages of development. For example, I had a fellow who was positive because we didn't see eye to eye on the relativity of science (Me suggesting it was relative, and him... well I'm not sure) call me stage blue! ahaha I am noticing the problem with all these complex models, metaphysics, epistemologies, world-views, paradigms, spiral stages... meet that the variances of our own individual understandings easily leads to some sort of corruption. I am not convinced I understand spiral dynamics, though it seems rather intuitive to me. I still have much to learn as well. The idea of this thread is to discuss the problem of our own/ what we have observed of other's relative understandings, bias's, ignorances, blind spots, mistakes, misinterpretations of spiral dynamics, or other models in personal development/ social sciences. -What Stories do you have? -What questions do you have?

1. Books read maybe, 50-100 I have to keep better track going forward Most impactful books... 1. The untethered Soul by Michael Singer -Helped me to bridge my intellect with my energy and understand my ego and awareness to a higher degree 2. Laws of Human Nature by Robert Greene - Helped me to understand a lot about human nature, and how to ego disrupts what would otherwise be happy and fulling lives and careers. I really enjoy the formatting of Roberts books. Each chapter has a biographical account related to a certain 'Law' followed by analysis, tips, psychology, how to integrate and transcend these traits within yourself as well as how to deal with others who are expressing negative traits/ laws 3. And recently I read a short and easy book by Vernon Howard called 'The Magic Of Your Personal Mind Power'. Super easy read, but with super practical ways of changing your thoughts and realizing how much power we have to control the course of our lives and actions. Great read! (Also his book The Mystic Path to Cosmic Power is a great intro/ refresher for those interested in mysticism that is practical) However, I don't think I can really give like my top 3 because I read books to solve problems in my live, and to expand my awareness map. Each books usefulness in my opinon exists because my mind is triangulating the book given my database with each book I read. Context changes with more insight over time. David Richo's books on relationships and past traumas have helped me, and Sheldon Kopp's book "Mirror Mask and Shadow" help me to accept and forgive myself for mistakes in the past, and to understand and forgive others in my life and society. Happy reading!

Use a short timer like 5 mins, and just don't stop till it rings! Start small. Then take 5 mins to recall what you read by writing it down! this will help you focus in small bursts and then train your mind over time to focus and remember what you read!

I am in the same boat, working on my purpose, writing tonnes of music, playing festivals, creating opportunities for artist, making videos for artists and business building habits, failing, learning, growing etc, etc etc. I'd love to make money from Youtube or Music, however, though I am seeing more and more progress and impact with my craft, my impact on audiences and my community still I am trenched in self doubt. Maybe I wont make a living from music, or youtube. But I know my life is to be an artist, or a linchpin and I want to give my gifts to the world and to serve others.

So, my father who is glued to CNN half his waking time says the impeachment hasn't changed his power as of yet, is that true? -
Hey, I have a fear of abandonment that is deep seated. I think I would talk to a professional or a councilor, as well as buy some books on the subject. Perhaps reading books on trauma, or even self love could help. I noticed on my path that books are great maps but are not the same as working directly with out nervous system. We hold a lot of memories in our body mind. I know I can lash our if I think people are going to abandon me. This is part of my work, as I still struggle with intimate relationships. Full on PTSD and I cant relax... But, I persist, and my gosh growth is so possible as long as you JUST PERSIST!! wooo
-
I think it would really help if you described the feeling! I think journalling is great, but I know people who work with their energies and nervous systems through different types of yoga. Chances are the work we do requires a holistic approach: Yoga, meditation, types of therapy and counciling, journaling etc. Leave no stone unturned. And dont believe the dogma, or darma that things can't change or get better. They do, you are on the heros journey.

For me, I've read some books on developing healthy sexuality and I think its all about moderation and balance. Perhaps, still talking to a therapist or councillor could help if you have deep seated issues like loneliness etc. Not a doctor, but I do not recommend celibacy. We are sexual being in my opinion. For me, I really struggled to do no fap. Though cutting down from 2-3 times a day I think was really healthy. I now have the goal for 5 times a month. Before it was LIKE IMPOSSIBLE NOT TO FAP AHHHH. I found that in my daily journal having a record of the faps I could reflect on helped. I actually think I had a specific note file on my phone.I would record the faps, and whether it was with or without porn. I began Setting goals that I thought were healthy. starting at 15 faps a month, then 10, then 5. For me I think that 5 faps a month really helped me to break free from porn and masterbation being unhealthy. And lately I don't record it because I think I've developed a healthy habit. Some months I would go over, but because I had a record I can take note of the things going on in my life both internal and external. EDIT: Also having a set amount of matches to burn was great, and even if I went over my 5 matches would reset every month so I wouldn't have to worry about going like, 90 days not expressing a natural urge. Ultimately, I wouldn't worry about it. Keep working toward finding that middle path in your life, and remember that Self Love trumps pretty much every other habit. And I am finding it to be the thing that allows the real development of a healthy life.

Yeah! I seems interesting, but the real idea is the grounding element. Just like how telephone wires are grounded. They also are able to measure it pretty easily it seems! -
Hey, Recently came across a documentary talking about the importance of grounding: Seems pretty intuitive that contacting out bodies to our larger cosmic body through the planet would have health benefits. Yesterday I was feeling down and I took some time to go grounding. I felt much better after about 30 minutes of grounding! I am considering purchasing a grounding blanket to use while I sleep. https://earthingcanada.ca/products/silver-plush-pad-kit/ Interested in other peoples opinions!

Woah, thats amazing. I really appreciate your engagement on this thread. I have noticed that I almost instantly recover from my backsliding now. In the past I would be broken down for days, weeks or even months...I am very excited. Very Grateful so far for this community! Looking forward to more engagement with you all!

Hello Everyone! I've been watching Leos Videos and working toward self actualization for the past 3 or 4 years. I started from a really rotten low place: Mental health problems, no habits, smoking pot, ADHD etc and Ive come so so so far! Leo of course is partly to thank as other influencers and plenty of books, apps and techniques. How do you guys handle backsliding, or reality showing you how much work you have to do. The focus of this thread is dealing with things like: Impulsivity, drug use, negative thinking, resentment and Devilry. Honestly, I am a leader working toward self actualization. I get huge downloads, visions, and mystical experiences. However, still I backslide from time to time and demonize others. My mind creates stories about others and how bad they are, even though really maybe its me thats being a devil. Or am just as much as a devil. I recently lost my best friend and business partner to my self deceptions, neediness etc. I am interested in speaking with people about: - Transference, backsliding, relationship issues, shadow work, devilry, being in positions of power, ego, survival, self deception, mentors, etc Looking forward to speaking to you Devils
-
@Surfingthewave Thank you! How are you dealing with your own devilry? Self love is important, really grateful for Leo's last video. I am aware that backsliding is a part of it. And when I came out of my resentful devil, make believe bull shit I was spewing on my 'friend' It was too late and I have now further pushed them away. I am hoping to heal things, but when I deceive myself and make things worse, it can make self love harder. Though, more and more as I work through my heart wall, and open my my bodies energies I experience more self love. Which, as you have said now that I think of it... During each of my last back lashes I experienced flashes of intense self love, and even visions for my purpose.

What confuses me is the "Generous minds" I like your interpretation. "brute beasts of the intellectual domain" Yes, sure this is a fact. A paradigm, something to be tamed through open awareness and openness to information and new maps of reality.

I think Leo does present his message in a way that encourages you to find your own truth. I've watched nearly all of Leos video at this point and I think to really understand him is to realize that he means no dogmas or paradigms of any kind and to read from diverse sources. Here is how Leo wants you to use the videos: Be reading diverse books based on what YOU want to learn about and develop during the week. Be experimenting with habits, nutrition, spiritual techniques, therapies. His videos are like a candy, or a snack on top of the work that YOU should be doing to find what YOUR truth is. Or, ultimate truth. I find again and again that what Leo is teaching is present in all types of self help books. Leo reads tonnes of books, and its now obvious to me he at least teaches from these books. So, his world view is pretty extensive. But like the saying goes. "If you meet Buddha in the middle of the Road, Kill Him". However, Leo should make this more clear... However, he isn't like your daddy or something ahahah -
For examples: Through mindfulness I often observe that I have multiple opinions and drives over situations. Especially when my ego is threatened I can see my higher and lower self. It feels so right to give into the shenpa, resentment, greed, lust or devilry. The fact that these lower impulses are so convincing and powerful has me really wary of putting myself into a leadership position. I am highly aware that, yes, I am corruptible.
