@Bill W you don’t understand the magnitude of which the need to survive drives your life. Feelings are a means by which the agenda of self survival is maintained. Survival precedes feelings

@Leo Gura dammit Leo I’m trying?

It’s all about survival. Kobe benefitted my survival. He provided value to ME. I don’t give a shit about the millions of other people dying on a regular basis because they provided no value to my life. Why do you like Leo? Or anyone else for that matter? Because they provide YOU value. They benefit YOUR survival. At the end of the day, I’m all I care about. You’re the same way. Survival aka self preservation is the core mechanism of the mind. Don’t act like you’re above this. You’re correct; we human are shallow, selfish, and devilish creatures. It is what it is??♂️

There is this ever present unease in the back of my mind. An unease that I've noticed in essentially everyone I've ever interacted with. Why? Why must we be so discontent at all times? Why do we always wish things were different from what they are? Why are we constantly seeking distractions from this unease? Seeking sex. Seeking food. Seeking entertainment. Seeking pleasure. Seeking any temporary escape from this discontent. Why can't I be okay with what is? Why does stillness drive me so mad? What is this constant unease that's forever whispering into my ear?

@Recursoinominado Completely forgot Leo did a video on ego backlash. Thank you for pointing that out. I re-watched it earlier and it seems the biggest thing is simply loving yourself. Showing compassion towards yourself and realizing that ego backlashes/backsliding are a natural part of the development process. They're something to be expected. And as you said, try to use self discipline to the best of your abilities to keep at your healthy habits. Now I feel more prepared the next time it happens.

I recently did a 6 day fast followed up by an LSD trip. It was a great week which provided me much “consciousness” growth. During the fast I even had my first mystical experience while being completely sober. However, the week following I had a severe ego backslash. I slid back into many “lower self” behaviors and it was extremely taxing on me emotionally. I felt depressed, lost and hopeless. It’s taken me a full week of this helplessness to feel myself and return to my healthy habits. I’m wondering how the rest of the actualized community deals with/prevents backslides? Do y’all have a ritual or “defense protocol” in place when you feel yourself backsliding? Note: I also struggle with loving myself and showing compassion during these periods of ego backlash. I’m the type to “whip myself into shape” via discipline and that simply doesn’t work for me during backslides. Any advice on how to deal with these periods in a resourceful manner would be appreciated.

@seeking_brilliance so true. It's like dogs chasing me down tryna bite my ass. Definitely motivating to keep me moving but I'm not necessarily enjoy it -
@Leo Gura I was literally thinking of your video while I was typing that. Look at you doing a good job of reproducing yourself as well Leo

What an interesting experience that must be. The seconds before imminent death... I like to think as Kobe was holding his daughter tightly in his arms, seconds before the downward twirling helicopter morphed into a fireball as it smashed into the hillside, that he became enlightened. That his sense of self expanded beyond the superstar that is "Kobe Bryant" and enveloped his daughter and the 7 others in the helicopter. As well as the helicopter itself and the rest of reality. That in those split seconds, Kobe realize his God self and became infinite as he transitioned out of the human realm. But who knows

In my opinion, no. Not at all. Esports is definitely on the rise but so is the NBA. Especially in the US and China.

The illusion is still going strong in the minds of his millions of fans

"To begin depriving death of it's greatest advantage over us, let us adopt a way clean contrary to that common one; let us deprive death of it's strangeness, let us frequent it, let us get used to it; let us have nothing more often in mind than death. We do not know where death awaits us: so let us wait for it everywhere. To practice death is to practice freedom. A man who has learned how to die has unlearned how to be a slave." -Michel de Montaigne Remember, you must die <3

I definitely respect the decision from Leo. In fact, it inspires me seeing how he lives what he speaks. How he’s “eating his own dog food” if you will. Life is all about balance.

It sounds like you don’t have much life experience bro. You need to start doing thing. Pursue new experiences. Get uncomfortable. You don’t know yourself well enough to know your life purpose. Get out your bubble.

It’s a useful model -
It feels as if thoughts spontaneously arise "within me". Meaning, I don't see, hear, taste, smell or feel thoughts "out there" but only within me. I can't seem to get a grasp on thought. I can't seem to pinpoint where thoughts arise from. I'm also wondering why I can only experience "my" own thoughts and not the thoughts of others. In fact, at all times I have no certainty as to what another person is thinking or even that they are thinking... which is fucking with my head. My questions are: 1. What are thoughts? 2. Where do thoughts arise from? 3. Where do thoughts go after I'm done experiencing them?

Just buy the course and get to work bucko. Find out what life purpose is for yourself

I don't follow. Why does "everything" (by which I'm assuming you mean sensations?) take time to register? And how do thoughts occur before realizing? For example, if I touch a stove, I register the sensation of heat before I experience the thought of "this is hot". The only thing I can find that's before (or behind) sensation is awareness itself. -

@Serotoninluv Thank you for the in-depth response. Thinking of dualism as more of a spectrum rather than binary is something I've never considered or tried before. Interesting. With regards to psychedelics, I've never focused on achieving non dual states. Although I've certainly experienced them, my next trip I'll set the intent of inquiring further into this sense of separation I feel and bring more awareness towards it. Also thank you for those exercises. I'll certainly try them. -
@Austin Actualizing tbh I’m not a big fan of those. They wont fix the root issue. It’s a bandaid solution. Your shoulders will go back to being pulled forward when you take it off. If you suffer from kyphosis you need to focus on lengthening the pec fibers (use a combination of stretching and MFR), lengthen the cervical flexors (muscles in the front of the neck) and strengthen the thoracic spine (mid to upper back area). Look up “thoracic extension” exercises and focus on that. Or YouTube search “functional patterns kyphosis” for more info. Chest up, shoulders back
