@Leo Gura I'm not seeking to attack anyone. I never had. This is about trying to raise consciousness here about some of the "gatekeepers" that were talked about in the video I shared and their unconscious bias as a result of their privelidge. In terms of identifying neoliberals vs progressives, I was referring to political figures. Many self-identified progressives, especially many of the "white gatekeepers" like Ana Kasparian, Emma Vigilan, Cenk Ugyr, Sam Sedar, and David Doel, kept illogically propping up Warren but bringing down Tulsi. They would do this despite the loyalty Tulsi Gabbard has shown towards Bernie Sanders since 2016 and the disloyalty Elizabeth Warren has shown towards him since 2016. Also how some of these "white gatekeepers" like Michael Brooks have shown their unconscious white privelidged bias by dodging debates with minority progressive youtubers like Niko House because he was "bored," people telling Niko "who do you think you are trying to debate him" and how if he did that to a white progressive like Kyle Kulinski all hell would break loose and people would call Michael Brooks a scaredy cat. And how Mike Figueredo would call an 18 year old Brazilian progressive youtuber "dumb" and "fucking stupid" for pointing out mistakes Mike made about Tulsi Gabbard's healthcare plan. After she did hours of research, hours of putting a video together, etc. Such acts like this makes minorities feel unwelcomed. That's why there are no African American female progressives on YouTube. Again, this is not about attacking them. This is about pointing out a major blindspot. Raising awareness so we can raise consciousness in our society. Not every white progressive has this unconscious bias either. This includes people like Jimmy Dore, Lee Camp, Matt Taibi, Ron Placone, Kyle Kulinski, and Graham Elwood. The biggest example are those that study US international relations like the people on the Grayzone (Aaron Mate, Max Blumenthal, and Ben Norton). Everyone who I mentioned here must have probably done something in their life to the extent of what @Serotoninluv did to realize and overcome their unconscious white privileged ego.

@Raptorsin7 Yea I know, I was in the that trap for a while when I had other goals in mind for my future. However, after reanalyzing my goals I am getting more involved by going to rallies, getting interviewed, reading more books, going to speeches, etc.
-
@Raptorsin7 Every day new things happen. Every day you and I learn something new. I can focus on both personal growth and activism. Both go hand in hand, this was a major focus in Ecodharma by David Loy. And the major focus in so many other books on Leo's booklist is about us made in the image of God: creators. We create systemic changes and we create our growth.
-
@Parththakkar12 I would prefer to answer if you still have that question after watching the video first.
-
@Raptorsin7 I guess Bernie Sanders, Tulsi Gabbard, Code Pink, Progressive Youtubers and journalists, and all other movements and individuals should stop what they're doing because they have to save themselves first. I guess Leo should stop actualized.org because he hasn't saved himself completely yet. I guess none of us should really express any of our education to promote change until we all reach high levels of enlightenment then?
-
@Raptorsin7 The systems growth is my growth too. That is the Self. Ignoring politics is ignoring the Self.
-
@Raptorsin7 I am aware of what you said and I am thankful of it. It doesn't mean I can't bring something he's overlooking to his awareness. Because that is also part my growth as well. "Blue no matter who" is illogical to progress. Corporate Democrats work for the same people as corporate Republicans. Both cause just as much damage. Look at the deregulations Obama and Clinton did and the growing wealth inequality under their reigns.

@Hatfort Agreed, he and Tulsi are the only true anti-war candidates. -

@Hatfort Hillary Clinton was being way more hawkish than Donald Trump during 2016. She even said she would "totally obliterate (Iran)." Let's also not forget her horrible foreign policies that even ended with an open slave trade in Lybia. Under the Obama administration, we ran out of bombs on the 7 countries we were (and still are) attacking: Iraq, Afghanistan, Lybia, Syria, Yemen, Sudan, and Somalia. The silver lining with Trump is that he is so dumb that rather than spend a year building a good argument for getting us into Iran, like Bush did with Iraq and Afghanistan, he impulsively just assassinated their well respected general. People were shocked and the war was disproved by an overwhelming majority. If it was Hillary or another corporate Democrat, they would've worked their way up to starting a war and many people would buy it. -
@Leo Gura I think you could have a great video discussing what was said from the 47th min until about the 60th min. It'll also make people more conscious about some of the struggles you might not have realized about minorities even around some supposively stage green (or like @Apparition of Jack said, stage green with a blue/orange shadow) whites. Tbh, Leo, I know you may not be doing this on purpose, but you do try to make me feel guilty for "attacking progressives" even though I'm just trying to spread more conscious awareness and give constructive criticism. And rather than actually hear me out, it feels like my well thought out analyses are dismissed before you try to understand what I'm saying. It probably has to do with the way the governmental system currently operates doesn't hurt you nearly as much as it hurts me or other poor minorities. You're well off economically and you're not a minority. So some things fly over your head because it's not as much of an inconvenience for you, but it is for a lot of us. "Blue no matter who" doesn't fix our problems. Telling people "this is the best we got" is like telling black people that during (and after) the Civil Rights that "this is the best we got." That just because we got rid of slavery or got rid of Jim Crow, that they're shooting themselves in the foot if they try to make people more aware of so many of the injustices still happening to them because it creates too much infighting. You have a major egoic blindspot that many of us have noticed and it seems like you're not doing anything about it.

@Hatfort Please do not forget that Trump is a symptom, not the problem. The problem is money in politics preventing policies from benefiting working people and grossly enriching elites. If we got rid of Trump and had Biden, Buttigieg, or Warren, a symptom (Trump) would be gone, but the problem is still there. Therefore getting rid of Trump is not a priority, but a step that needs to be taken with the right course of action. That right course of action is electing a true progressive as president and continuing to protest/inform/push for positive change. Be wary of the "blue no matter who" mentality. This is what keeps society stuck. -

Everyone, as systemic thinkers, let's realize that Trump is not the problem, but a symptom. Having him as president is equally as bad as having Obama, Biden, Warren, Bush, Clinton, Klobuchar, or anyone else in the corporate establishment. We will continue to bomb other countries for oil, deregulate big industries, cut welfare, not have single payer healthcare, have stagnated wages as the price of living goes up, have jncreasing student debt, etc. This is because they all get paid by the same people, the rich elite. -
@Consilience Definitely backfired on Warren and the establishment.
-
@Derek White Thank you for sharing. It definitely sounds like your teacher lived in a bubble for a long time. Many Americnas don't know that in many countries with colored that have some level of socialism education systems have high performance ratings in literacy and mathematics. It's as though he took it as a threat that people of color in other can be smarter than white north North Americans. All the more evidence that we need to implement required study abroad programs.
-
Clearly you didn't watch the whole video, just the part that talks about Warren being an abuser. I'd say do some of the practices that @Serotoninluv did. You need to discover them on your own rather than argue online.
-
@Leo Gura We need to know which leaders are actually progressive though. If we don't, then we'll be duped into more neoliberalism like what happened under Obama. We then evolved into a Trump administration. Not spreading this awareness of Warren's fakeness and people's unconscious privileged ego instead of taking action to wake people up is like settling with a method for meditation that is taking you slowly towards Self-Actualization and maybe never reaching it when you have other options like taking psychedelics or Kriya Yoga that can speed up the process. A lot of people didn't see through Warren's fakeness, mainly privelidged stage green whites who mean well but haven't taken notice of their ego blinding them from this reality. I'm not saying I'm going to dump or leave the movement, just making an observation and asking people's insights for a conscious solution. This is about improvement. We can't settle for what we currently have, especially when there's so much error. I'm also not seeking any infighting, just seeking a proper way to spread consciousness to fellow progressives who mean well but are unaware of a major blindspot.

@Cocolove Yea that's what I meant, the rise of more stage yellow pushing stage green. -
@Nahm They view inequality as evil. Many dismiss or "cancel" anyone that has displayed an action that they perceive as being oppression towards a certain group or towards the environment (cancel culture?). Their biggest moral value is equality and fairness. Tbh, I've watched Leo's videos on spiral dynamics and I've read The Religion of Tomorrow by Ken Wilber, which integrates spiral dynamics into his stages of conscious development, but I haven't read the book on Spiral Dynamics in Leo's book list yet.

Could this be what Ken Wilber talked about in The Religion of Tomorrow: the next stage of consciousness spreads exponentially across the world once it reaches 10% of the population? -
@Husseinisdoingfine This feud does matter in the sense that it further shows who's really on the side of progressing the world and who's on the side of the establishment status quo and corporations but pretends to be progressive. I'd say that much like how Trump was a Democrat his whole life until he found it convenient to be Republican for his own personal, Elizabeth Warren was a Republican her whole life until she found it convenient to be a Democrat for her own personal gain. We know she pretended to be Native American for 40+ years to get into college and other conveniences.
-
@SerpaeTetra I think its pretty obvious that they are pro Warren and Warren was never a real progressive, but an opportunist and a compulsive liar. She is part of the establishment, just like Biden, the Clintons, Obama, Pelosi, etc.
-
@purerogue No one ever said or implied that everyone else is an angel, just that white people have a certain subconscious priviledged ego that other people don't have because of how our current societal system operates. Did you watch the video?
-
@Serotoninluv Thank you for sharing this. I have definitely noticed these types of behaviors from stage green whites in the work place but also in college. It also depends on where they've grown up and who they consider close friends. And it feels like a brand new world when you live in other countries. I think overcoming this ego, for everyone, can be achieved if we change our education system to be more open to learning the realities of different cultures. I remember Leo suggesting in Part 4 of Conscious Politics that he'd make it a requirement for young students to study abroad at least once.

I saw it, true progressives saw it, low consciousness "progressives" like TYT didn't and are having a hard time accepting it. Warren is not Bernie's ally. Nor is she an ally to the progressive movement.
-
Objectively, yes. If you receive money from the corporations you're supposed to be fighting against, you are not a progressive news channel. Robbie Jaeger has done great work researching all the behind the scenes dealings TYT has done with corporations that also fund establishment Democrats like Hillary Clinton and Chuck Schumer.
