I thought this thread was related to the ongoing heat wave in europe that has led to the deaths of nearly 4000 people this year even before peak summer heat has begun. Around 15000 people died in europe in the 2025 heatwaves. Europe is the fastest warming continent in the world, and I would say its environmental issues should take greater priority at the eyes of its leaders at present to prevent further such tragedies. -
Drugs will not lead to a permanent state of nondual or unitary perception, known as nirvikalpa samadhi in sanskrit. It can help one to get a glimpse into higher states of consciousness with artificial means. However regular use of them instead of using meditation can lead to addiction to such drugs. Cravings for drugs actually create more vasanas or psychological impressions that strengthens duality rather than creating nonduality. Many crimes have been committed under the influence of drugs. The Nazis used drugs to stifle their sensibilities during their numerous crimes against civilians during invasions, though it is part of soldiering conduct not to harm civilians. The enlightened master Meher Baba stated that " Enlightenment is not found in a pill. " No user of drugs ever in the history of the world has attained the bliss and joy found in enlightenment. The bliss of enlightenment is also of a permanent nature in stark contrast to that of the temporary highs of drugs and alcohol charecterised by painful hangovers later on. Repeated use of drugs can also damage the capacity to meditate. Osho had talked on the nature of drugs ... https://www.oshotimes.com/insights/health/mind/understanding-addictions/ https://oshofriends.com/counseling/25566?__cf_chl_f_tk=RbUE3GRjnZBx7_74tdTc7FUm2O3nUz5CHQCVo.6JTOc-1783311572-1.0.1.1-qC_AAdLDjH0bKueYe61bBXwtWnr92JXMxGiG6uVMGGc https://oshofriends.com/counseling/32474

Lions and tigers eat other animals for survival. They do not kill other animals abundantly to deposit them in a bank account or convert them into good looking furniture. Due to human activity related to hunting, habitat destruction and poaching, around 60 percent of global animal population in the last 50 years have become extinct, as per scientists, which shows how dysfunctional humans have become and out of sync with nature, existence and environment around them. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2018/oct/30/humanity-wiped-out-animals-since-1970-major-report-finds Also, due to heavy hunting and poaching, most lions and tigers are close to extinction. India is the only country that has at present lions, tigers, leopards, snow leopards and cheetahs in its jungles at present. European trophy hunters have been accused of mass murder of even endangered animals like cheetahs for their skins, and which are essentially harmless to humans. I had created a thread in this regard.. As I said earlier, thought is a double-edged sword that has both destructive and constructive aspects, and how it is wielded depends on the consciousness of the one who wields it. Many great civilizations came down due to a lower state of consciousness in its leaders. Germany had the best philosophers, scientists and engineers in the world in the first half of the twentieth century, but poor leadership by the likes of Wilhelm Kaiser and Adolf Hitler brought the nation down to ruin and disrepute through the two world wars which originated in europe. U.G.Krishnamurti have also expounded on the destructive aspect of thought, and have lamented that it is not used for functionality alone. Some sayings of his in this regard... -
"Love is the natural condition of all experience before thought has divided it into a multiplicity and diversity of objects, selves and others." ~ Rupert Spira "Love is not sensation; it is a flame without smoke... When the heart is empty of the things of the mind, and the mind is empty of thought, then is there love. That which is empty is inexhaustible." ~ Jiddu Krishnamurti “In any relationship, especially marriage, be as free of compulsive thinking as possible. In other words, the more space there is in the relationship - inner space - the more love there is because love arises out of the inner spaciousness.” ~ Eckhart Tolle You are solidified silence, awareness. A thousand hours of speech cannot equal one glance: a hundred glances cannot equal a minute of silence. ~ Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

What you have written shows a simplistic understanding of Krishnamurti as well as poor comprehension skills which would explain why you have not profitted from it, while I know of others who had a quantum leap in terms of gains from the same. Krishnamurti has stated the importance of thought in our practical affairs as in engineering or planning or writing. You can use thought for practical purposes as in planning or scheduling activities and then switch it off. Most people don't how to switch it off and consequently suffer from burnout from incessant thinking and emoting leading to anxiety, absent-mindedness and a host of psychological and physiological issues in the long run. Krishnamurti also derides the tendency of thought to create divisive images and which damages relationships at an individual and collective level. https://www.krishnamurti.org/transcript/thought-and-its-limitations/ Thought based on its conditioning creates psychological self-images at a dualistic level which is bound to result in conflict if the other does not conform to the field of likes and dislikes of the self-image. You can see that all wars and conflicts based on religion, nation and ideology have corresponding self-images of Jihadi, crusader, Zionist, Russian, American, European, capitalist , socialist, communist and so on. Animals and birds do not fight each on the basis of religion, nationality and ideology and they usually migrate through man-made borders without visas or passports and so on, much to the wonder and amazement of human beings not used to the same. Thought can be used by human beings constructively for developing material well-being, and it can also be used destructively due to psychological insecurities emanating from the self-images created by thought. A time may come when the destructive aspect of thought far outweighs its constructive aspects. Due to the divisiveness caused by thought in human relationships, Krishnamurti and other nondual teachers emphasize choiceless awareness or consciousness emptied of psychological content or presence as a better tool for developing and sustaining human relationships. This is bound to bring a quantum leap in relationships at the individual and collective level for the better. -

Jiddu Krishnamurti's book 'Freedom from the known' is considered to be his greatest work, and essential to understand the theme of his teachings on the nature of the mind, thought, origin of desire, sensation, ego, self-knowledge and so on in all his subsequent works. This is now available freely on the internet. Some insightful excerpts from the book on the nature of pleasure and cravings... -

The two World Wars which originated in europe on the basis of military alliances killed over a hundred million people. Historians state that poor and incompetent diplomacy and negotiations was a major reason for the world wars. It looks like this latest european war might break past world records in world wars.

Durability under all possible situations and circumstances can be seen as evidence enough. Yes, there are some principles that are tested enough adequately, and which can serve as lighthouses or beacons to navigate through the seeming chaos. -

If it is just a theory that's subject to change would obviously mean that the principle in question is not tested enough. -

Well, I like to read books dealing with principles that can be tested rather than stories. Stories or narratives emerging from someone's viewpoint tend to be biased as the vast majority of humanity is unconscious and portraying events in tones of black and white as per their conditioned subjective outlooks. And this subjectivity is similar or varies to the subjectivity of other human beings leading to consensus or conflicts respectively, but rarely leading to the truth. -

This book was written by Radha Rajagopal Sloss, who was the daughter of Krishnamurti's former associates Rosalind and D.Rajagopal. D.Rajagopal and Rosalind were assigned by the ageing Anne Besant to look after the young Jiddu Krishnamurti following the death of his younger brother Nitya. D.Rajagopal used to compile the speeches and talks of Krishnamurti for printing them and he did this for a long time. However later on Krishnamurti's friends found a lot of discrepancies between his recorded talks and the way they were printed and edited by Rajagopal with his own inputs which significantly distorted the messages. Consequently a rift with legal and financial issues came up between them as Rajagopal was egotistically adamant in his right or privilege to edit Krishnamurtis works as he pleased, and Rajagopal was subsequently prevented from editting Krishnamurti's works later on. This put a lot of strain in the lives of the Rajagopal's leading to the breakdown of their marriage, and narratives of betrayal was pointed at Krishnamurti for not being grateful enough to the Rajagopals for looking after him while he was growing and vulnerable. The bitterness that followed possibly induced Rajagopals daughter to spawn these insinuations against Krishnamurti, after his death when he was not even in a position to defend himself if needed. These details are available in the book , ' The light of Krishnamurti' by Gabrielle Blackburn. It is also possible that there was a wider and invisible conspiracy against Krishnamurti's legacy considering his teachings criticising organized religion and religious conditioning which would have upset many of the theocrats profitting from such a system. If the sheep get smart enough, they might start thinking for themselves and may even get bold enough to disobey the wolves who have been shepherding or conditioning them to the slaughterhouse of religious wars and conflicts without any issues for a long time. -
Attention is food for the ego, and too much of attention can indeed produce entitled super-brats who insists on 'my way or the highway' . They can be highly destructive due to a limited perspective of life. The brilliant German chancellor Bismarck considered the young German emperor Kaiser Wilhelm II to be a pampered and spoit brat who "wanted every day to be his birthday". Kaiser Wilhelm II heavily contributed to the outbreak of World War I through aggressive militarism, the abandonment of Bismarck’s careful diplomacy, and ill-thought policies that turned a localized Balkan crisis into a global conflict that resulted in the deaths of millions.

"Awareness is primordial; it is the original state, beginning-less, endless, uncaused, unsupported, without parts, without change. Consciousness is on contact, a reflection against a surface, a state of duality. There can be no consciousness without awareness, but there can be awareness without consciousness, as in deep sleep. Awareness is absolute, consciousness is relative to its content; consciousness is always of something." ~ Nisargadatta Maharaj 'Awareness becomes consciousness when it has an object. The object changes all the time. In consciousness there is movement; Awareness by Itself is motionless and timeless, here and now.' ~ Nisargadatta Maharaj

Dada Gavand is an enlightened sage of modern times who was influenced by the writings of Jiddu Krishnamurti and had spent time with him as a spiritual seeker in his youth. Dada's core teachings after his own enlightenment reflected Krishnamurti's philosophy, emphasizing silent watchfulness, choiceless awareness, and freedom from mechanical thought. I had created a thread on Dada Gavand's account of enlightenment .... -

Bruce Lee himself was influenced by Jiddu Krishnamurti's teachings, and the core of Krishnamurti’s philosophy—rejecting rigid ideologies in favor of unconditioned, honest self-expression and choiceless awareness—served as the philosophical bedrock for Lee's creation of the martial art of Jeet Kune Do. Lee was an avid reader of Krishnamurti's books, and his copy of J.K's book, Commentaries on Living 1st Series (published 1956) is heavily annotated and underlined. His own teachings on Jeet Kune Do mirrored J.K's own sayings. Krishnamurti famously declared that truth cannot be confined by any path, religion, or structured organization. Lee adapted this concept, famously stating, "Truth has no path," using it to reject the rigid, traditional forms of classical kung fu in favor of fluid, adaptable fighting. Jeet Kune Do serves as the foundational framework of modern mixed martial arts forms as well. It breaks away from rigid traditional styles, emphasizing efficiency, directness, and the philosophy of adapting any effective combat technique regardless of its origin. https://steemit.com/philosophy/@jokerpravis/jiddu-krishnamurti-the-philosophical-inspiration-behind-bruce-lee-s-martial-art-jeet-kune-do http://www.becoming.8m.net/bruce02.htm https://brucelee.com/podcast-blog/2018/7/31/110-bruce-lee-library-commentaries-on-living This shows how philosophical insights have been brought into applications in the martial arts, and I would say it is possible that Krishnamurti's teachings can spawn similar applications in various other fields as well.
