And now the moment has passed, i feel confused. I desperately rewind my memory to catch a glimpse of what was. Only impatience is there. -
Everything i have written here and i will write in the future are not written by me, it is an illusion. It is an ongoing procedure that will continue until my "death". Hello READER. I am human(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homo_sapiens). I want to influence my perspective through the new ideas of self assessment that i have had discovered a very long time ago. I ask that you cooperate with me in order to make this a successful endeavour. As my friend pramit once told me : What you desire is self mastery. What you think you desire is neuroscience career. Knowledge cannot be your salvation, you know that. You cannot defeat yourself with only knowledge. You will be defeated if all you have is hypothesis over hypothesis. The refinement of thought must be done at a level below that of the higher cognitive. Master yourself first. Only then will I appear and lead you to the path you need to go.

Perfection is a trap. But your problem is not just perfection. Your competitive spirit is acting in the wrong way. You need to compete with yourself, not those people you barely know anything about(but you assume you know how much they worked). And don't think the system is 100% perfect that it will judge you in the way you want to be judged. That is not going to happen, and this is going to be a recurring theme in your life. You need to let go of expectation from your parents, and realize what YOU want to do with your life. High grades in university is a short term goal. What will those high grades lead you to? Why pursue those grades? You must pursue excellence, not success. If you do this, if you let go of what others expect from you, then you will fall into short term depression which can be really bad and your ego will freak out at this. But its a step in the right direction. Also, do you meditate? If not, make it a habit to do so.

just be aware and don't be hard on yourself if you fail to keep yourself in check. I use "stay focused" which is an app for google chrome, to block sites that are potentially time wasting. I also use a application called cold turkey to ban certain websites. Your brain is amazing at justifying short term activity that will make you feel good. This is going to be a uphill battle. I guess you just want to be aware of the role feelings play when you rationalize short term activity, or be aware when you don't think too much before you click on something.

now that the election cycle(in the US) is over, what are your thoughts? How do you rationalize the result with your world view? What predictions do you offer for important issues like climate change?

It's the point of no return. Once you reach this point, your mind will automatically take over and it will become easier to meditate than it will be to do other things. I have never experienced it, and this is pure friction for me. But i think its a possibility. To give you an analogy, think of global warming. Right now we are slowly warming up the earth through our emissions. But at some point, the rate of ocean evaporation will be high enough that it will accelerate itself. Like a positive feedback loop that requires energy to activate, but once activated, it will not stop. At this point, the ice caps will also melt, releasing methane, and decreasing the reflection of sunlight from white ice. This will also have another feedback loop. These positive feedback loops will give rise to a "super" positive feedback loop. Thus, at this point it doesn't matter if humans disappeared, the earth will continue warming until new life evolves that can change the equilibrium. To give another analogy, think of addiction. First you need to motivate yourself to take in the substance. After that you develop mental dependency, your mind craves for it. If you continue, you will develop physical dependency, which is the point where your body will crave it. At this point, return to a normal state(before addiction) is VERY painful and difficult. Traditionally, that is also how nature works (gross oversimplification here, but this is just an explanation). If you study population dynamics, you will see that nature tries to maintain some sort of balance in all things. But that is a lie. If you see the very long term, there is always evolution, always change. Equilibrium is maintained only in the very short term. Eventually one population is eliminated, or one resource is depleted. It's just a matter of time. How did oxygen consuming species evolve? Because anaerobic organisms consumed all the CO2. How did dinosaurs die? Because their adaptations could not save them from the changes that occurred. It will be the same if humans die. It will be because although we are very good at adapting to short and medium term changes, we cannot tackle very long term species wide problems such as global warming. If you study population dynamics or ecology, you will gain an appreciation for this kind of model.

vegan causes less harm to the environment. If you eat beef, you support growing cows. The emissions from beef are about 10% of worldwide global warming. Even replacing beef with chicken, you are reducing your carbon footprint by up to 75% depending on how much beef you consume. Cattle requires large amounts of land, and produce methane gas which traps 20 times more heat than CO2. Chicken require 1/4 of that land and produce much less methane. It is ideal if you do not consume meat altogether, but its also unrealistic for most people i guess. From a health perspective, moderate amounts of meat is good for your health. Too much may cause cardiovascular issues. You should make sure that meat is properly cooked. That is all i know.

I can't sleep on my back at all. What should i do?

excellent. Everyone, thank you for your replies. Feel free to continue discussion. I have nothing to add that has not already been said.

I have the same problem too dude. Just have to reach a tipping point. To active a feedback system. Or if you don't see things that way, just relax and accept what is, touch your face, feel your breathing. There is nothing to do, and nowhere to be!

Hi, i follow Leo's audio track for meditating, it lasts 20 minutes. Should i go beyond it? what are the advantages of a longer meditation time? Looking for answer from people who meditate. How long do you feel the need to meditate, is my question.

I am afraid of ghosts and imaginary beings. Today i was forced to wake up from pleasant sleep once i saw a shadow transform into a ghost with two swords. I can only sleep in my room which is small and closed. If the door of my room is open, i cannot sleep, because i keep imagining that there is someone else in the house, and i fear that. Please give me advice on how to control my reaction to this fear.

thanks for replying. Rationalizing and being aware of it has not helped me so far. Even mental imagery of being stronger than what i fear, or thinking about what would actually happen if i come into contact with the object of my fear, does not help.
