When I insulted you personally? If I'm saying that you're self deluded thinking that your truth is above others, then I'm talking about your ideas, not saying that I know you are self deluded. But I have no reason to justify myself over your inflated ego. You clearly didn't understand what I was trying to say. It's not my fault you can't handle the truth. As for the insult part, you're the one judging without knowing me personally or my life experiences. Don't judge someone until you've walked in their shoes. "That alone speaks volumes about your low maturity level and high level of internal turmoil." - this phrase alone shows that spirituality stinks and you're not in the position to help my understanding. Thanks for the passive-aggressive behavior. Asshole.

Do I have to meditate with eyes closed? I'm asking myself all kinds of questions all the time. For example, why now I'm typing these words and then I'll see myself in another place? Why I can't see myself in both places or see that I'm both death and alive? Why we move from the past to the future and not otherwise? We think of time as a normal dimension and rarely question the nature of time. But time and MOTION is more alien than that. -

Sure... but there are multiple factors that can make an individual aware of certain aspects of life. Thinks like experience, open-mindedness, imagination, curiosity, intelligence are also vital in the process. I've met people who didn't care about spirituality at all and they were really gifted in that sense. And there are folks who think they are enlightened/awakened but they're rotten on the inside. So it really depends on each situation. Some people are naturally gifted and have truly remarkable experiences without doing anything special. -

There's a lot of introspection, contemplation and deep feelings as well. Humans are complex beings. -
That says a lot about you And I suppose you think you are really spiritual and humble with this attitude, huh? Please take your chill pill next time you open your dirty mouth and pretend that you know strangers on a forum. You're not in the position to tell me about matters I'm not aware of when your IQ hits rock bottom

Thanks for the answer. By alien I meant to say that it feels as if there's some life force that makes us experience things in our temporal dimension and we're just vessels inhabited by it. I don't identify with the "force", that's what I did all my life thinking that we're the authors of our own fate. Now I think that the force is beyond our control and we're already stuck in space and time. Could this be God or infinite consciousness, I don't know. But "me" feels like a pixel on the screen and nothing more. It is called overthinking -

Are you sure it is "you" imagining? I have this permanent alien feeling that me is not me, even though it feels like me. Isn't fear a human emotion? What if this "alien entity" has taken over our existence and we're just living its dream? -
Sure, I also had a dream in which I died and there are no words to describe nothingness. Theoretically, when you die, you let go of all your earthly attachments. No one knows what happens after death but death is the opposite of life. It is said that death is the release of suffering because attachments bring suffering.

Sensations and thoughts are part of what you are and they are essential for the self-inquiry process. Meditation won't make you enlightened but it can help you focus better. Your sensations & thoughts are perfectly fine, don't fight them. -

From my perspective, nope. Death has no consciousness. Consciousness is life and death is the opposite. There's no consciousness to be aware of nothingness. "Nothing" makes no sense when you're dead. -
Why it can't be otherwise? After death, consciousness ceases to exist and you'll more likely be dead. That's a natural thing that we innately know. Death is death, life is life. You are a possession, why do you want to take "you" in the "afterlife"?

I don't need your hug. Go and preach your false love and spirituality in your fairy tale land
-
You are really stupid if you think that enlightenment means saying you're enlightened. I don't care about your bullshit opinion. My words make no sense in deaf ears. You're just living in a fairy tale land where only enlightened know the truth. Truth is beyond your bullshit ideas.

As a subjective experience, they are real. But objectively speaking, they are just an illusion. It is like playing a role in a movie. You're not the actor but you're playing the role. Life is like a movie where actors are just playing their roles. Self is not the image you are identifying with. You are nothing but the puppet of the life itself. Once you're aware of the strings, you start to question your very own existence. But you're still a puppet. Puppet only plays its role.

Self is an illusion. That's why you're self-deluded.

Thank you.

Hi Leo, First of all, I want to thank you for your video about reality and infinite consciousness. It truly helped me gain a deeper awareness of what is and opened the door to new possibilities. But I have certain doubts about "my" imagination and I often find myself questioning the nature of reality and consciousness. Here are the questions: 1. If the flowing of time is an illusion constructed within our "brains", what can we do about it since everything is predetermined and nothing that we experience is under our control? We have no free will and time is just a persistent illusion, then how is this illusion the ultimate reality? Could there be something even more alien than that? 2. What do you think happens when we die? And why would we imagine something like this in the first place? Is it possible to be both dead and alive at the same time but we're just not aware of it? Think about the Schrodinger's Cat. 3. Do you think we could somehow break the chains of our past and future and choose what to feel, think or imagine? It seems to me that there's no way out and everything that is, IS beyond our sense of self, space or motion. In other words, to me consciousness is time... and time is just an illusion. I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Thank you

@poimandres Thank you for the elaborate answer. From my perspective, consciousness is a human concept and cells aren't conscious because they don't know what consciousness is. I could say that everything is an illusion and nothing exists at all but that would be counterproductive. As long as we can communicate with concepts, we can share ideas about everything we know. But that doesn't mean that consciousness is beyond time and space. It's still within this physical realm, be it real or not. As for the idea that you are the universe, I see myself as a micro universe living in a macro universe. I also think that everything is connected. However, I don't see myself more than just a human. Not in this physical realm. Maybe after death we'll all be free of all illusions.

Yes, you are brainwashed so don't fucking tell me or others what truth is. Truth is. Nobody is entitled in knowing the truth while others are not. Everybody is right in their own little universe. Truth is impartial. That's what I'm trying to tell you but you keep repeating the same bullshits over and over again such as truth is this, truth is that. Or you need to be humble, you need to be enlightened and you need to be this, you need to be that. Stop projecting your own bullshits when describing what truth is. My position is to defend the other facets of truth. I'm pointing to the self delusion because that's where the misconceptions come from. Once you start accepting the other facets of reality, truth will become impartial.
-
I'm telling you to stop telling me what should I do. I can also say to stfu and stop spreading lies. But I'm trying to have a civilized conversation with brainwashed people like you. Telling me that I'm wrong doesn't make you more right. As long as you're telling me your own truth in an arrogant way, I see no reason to be humble in telling you my own version of truth.
-
I'm here to exchange ideas and tell my own opinion. Who are you to tell me to stfu? It's not me who claimed to know the truth and say that others are deluded. That's what I'm pointing at. I'm self-deluded as well but I don't claim to know the truth better than others. I don't claim that I'm right and others are self-deluded. I'm just a mirror showing what is. So who the fuck are you to tell me what I should do? I live according to my own laws. Don't preach me the truth because you aren't the absolute.

Time. I would define consciousness as being the perception of time. For the normal meaning of consciousness in psychology and neuroscience, biological cells would not be considered conscious. One could, however, expand the definition of consciousness to includes cells, at least in a metaphorical sense. But that doesn't make cells aware of their environment. Cells function more like cogs in a complex machine than like autonomous creatures seeking out a life in an uncertain world. I already mentioned that they might as well be just your conscious brain imagining things living on their own. Nobody knows for sure what reality is, but since the flowing of time is an illusion, it's fair to say that the physical world might be an illusion as well. Even so, you can't make a cell aware of its environment. A cell is just a cell and we're still humans, no matter how much we'd want things to be different. The temporal perception of things makes our understanding pretty limited. That's why science struggles to provide an objective answer beyond the limited perception. It's the most accurate tool that we currently have. If you don't believe in real world - and I believe only what I see / experience because that's the only way of knowing - then you're free to believe in abstract things that cannot be proved. I prefer to stick with science. And I don't claim to know the truth, that's why I opened this topic. I'm searching for explanations that science might have missed. But all I get are just repeated thinking patterns. No one has said nothing new here.

I don't preach false humility, in fact, I don't preach anything. You are completely missing my point. If you think that self-inquiry means arrogance, then you have no idea what humility is. And I have no reason to be humble with people like you who are preaching false spirituality and call it humility. Your know-it-all attitude is nauseating and you don't know shit. This is like saying "you aren't God in the absolute sense, you are human imagining you are God". Imagination isn't the same with facts. I can say that I'm a unicorn flying but this would not make me more or less human. "Me" resides in my human body and mind. Thinking that I'm God won't help me transcend the physical reality. A donkey dressed in human clothes is still a donkey.

I'm not egotistic if I say that truth is. Not saying that truth is what I think it is either. But Leo said that he knows the truth and others are deluded. That's the same as saying that truth is [insert definition here] while other statements are false. As for the God part, I don't see how "me" could be everything. For me it's sufficient to say "I am" without using the "God" word. So why would I use fancy words like "God" instead of "human"? "Human" is not separated from "God".
