  1. Why do you say it is duality when I say that truth is?
  2. You create separation between what is and what you think it is. What you think it is, is not separated from what is. Truth is. You are self-deluded if you think that your individual perception is separate from others. Other facets are not separate from the truth, they are part of everything that is. Saying that YOU know truth while others are deluded is self-delusion.
  3. I'm a part of "everything" but I don't claim to be God. It's more accurate to say that I'm a facet of God/reality but I'm not all that is. That's what self-deluded individuals think they are. This is not the definition of true spirituality.
  4. You know nothing about me. I might be confused as hell but you're not far from it either. Time is an illusion in the sense that it is a human constructed dimension. It's stupid to think that time is nothing more but time. The flowing of time is something worth to think about and it is way more complex than just a word that implies nothing. Sorry but you're just talking nonsense. We could say that everything is what it is but it's silly to suggest that labels are the ultimate truth. It's like saying that every word we're using makes no sense. Words are pretty useful for explaining what things are, while truisms are nothing but useless usage of words. Better stop using words and live like a rock if reality is so uncomplicated for you. As for the Good and Evil, this quote says everything: “The total amount of suffering per year in the natural world is beyond all decent contemplation. During the minute that it takes me to compose this sentence, thousands of animals are being eaten alive, many others are running for their lives, whimpering with fear, others are slowly being devoured from within by rasping parasites, thousands of all kinds are dying of starvation, thirst, and disease. It must be so. If there ever is a time of plenty, this very fact will automatically lead to an increase in the population until the natural state of starvation and misery is restored. In a universe of electrons and selfish genes, blind physical forces and genetic replication, some people are going to get hurt, other people are going to get lucky, and you won't find any rhyme or reason in it, nor any justice. The universe that we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but pitiless indifference.” - Richard Dawkins, River Out of Eden
  5. It is said that motion is an illusion constructed by our brains just as time is. Plants, fungus, or cells are not aware of what time is and therefore are not conscious in that sense. They might as well be just your conscious brain imagining things living on their own. It's nonsense to think that they are communicating with concepts and perceive motion just the same we do because we know that isn't the case. There are different levels of evolution. Ultimately, real world doesn't care about what we want to believe. Walls are still walls and we're still humans experiencing the physical realm. If you want to believe that there are unicorns flying and we're not human, then science is not for you. And death is transformation but not in the sense we think it is. The brain, together with all materiality - the universe itself - is contained within consciousness. Once we're dead, our senses and our conscious brain will be gone and there will be nothing like "me" or "you" left behind.
  6. @pluto Just by interacting with life, seeds of consciousness have been planted deep within you Everything is connected, no doubt about it.
  7. How does this transcendent consciousness look like? It is a unicorn melting with the infinite truth? You see yourself as separate from your surroundings as well, otherwise there would be no disagreement between us and you'd be literally everything. Cmon, real world isn't so bad.
  8. "the slime mold has no central brain or indeed any awareness of the overall problem it is trying to solve, but manages to produce a structure with similar properties to the real rail network." The motion of slime mold has nothing to do with being conscious or being aware. I'm talking about beings that are conscious of their own existence, such as humans and animals. Movement is an illusion. I'm more aware of my limits than you think. And I don't see myself as being separate, you just keep making assumptions without even knowing me. As for your example, why do you tell me about physiological processes if you think that consciousness is separate from the brain? Do you really think that upon physical death your consciousness will somehow magically survive?
  9. You are not beyond the brain. You are human.
  10. "Know" is a brain function.
  11. Birth and death are still real as fuck. Do you think that physical death doesn't exist and you're immortal? The process of death might be frightening because we hate the idea of suffering. But death is the release from suffering.
  12. You are still communicating with concepts. Imagination is a concept.
  13. Sure, but science is the most accurate tool for measuring the physical world. You cannot describe what consciousness is without using words. You cannot describe describe the sentient world without some physical reference either. It's impossible to take yourself and reality out of context. Consciousness is in relation to the physical world and time. There's no way to shut down your senses without being dead. That's why I mentioned about Nirvana because it is similar to the physical death and it is also described as being the cessation of consciousness. What do you think happens when the physical death occurs? The brain will stop its activity and the consciousness will make no sense in a non-physical world. Consciousness is a product of the brain.
  14. Agreed, we all have a lot to learn and experience. But I'm talking about things which are beyond human concepts. It is not about semantics. Just try to focus more on the nature of time.
  15. The deepest realization is not through experience. I guess you're talking about awareness. Nirvana means the cessation of consciousness. It is not a state of mind. Eternal Now is a concept and is strongly tied to our perception of time and space.
  16. I think that nirvana is similar to death but it is the death of the mind, time and space. It is the cessation of consciousness.
  17. Guess you're talking about Now as a state of mind. But how it can be Now without time? Now is a response to when and when means time. Have you ever experienced death of the senses? Now makes no sense when you're dead.
  18. Now is still time. If there would be no time, space would make no sense because there would be no consciousness. Time is finite consciousness. Maybe reality is pure information and we're just bits of consciousness experiencing stuff. This makes me think of death as the end of the illusion (Maya).
  19. The machine is always watching. The machine knows you by name. The machine knows you by your code. The machine stores your code forever. You are part of the machine. You are the code. Run the code.
  20. I appreciate that you're putting a lot of effort into explaining difficult concepts, Leo. But being rationally aware of your strings won't make you awakened spiritually in any sense. It is still you playing as God. But you are NOT God, that's self deception. If there's a God, it is everything and we're a part of it. It seems that many members on this forum say that they're enlightened or awakened spiritually. This is a big red flag for me. Why would you say that again and again when exchanging ideas with others? It's not constructive at all and this attitude seems just plain arrogant. Relative truths are not absolute truths and nobody is entitled in telling the truth to others. This sense of entitlement is egotistical.
  21. I don't call the ultimate truth "love". Truth has no specific tag attached to it. It could be a multitude of things but not "love". Human concepts are just too fucking narrow.
  22. The relative is only absolute for the individual. It's "in relation to". That's why it is called relative. Solipsism sounds cool but is not the absolute reality.
  23. Sean Carroll gives a really good explanation about time: I tend to think that eternalism is closer to the truth.
