I haven’t done a trip on a serotonergic psychedelic in around 9 months until last night. I’ve been getting to ridiculous levels of consciousness sober and on THC ever since quitting typical psychedelics. Considering I can now access formless jhanas on my own rather quickly, I’m really interested to see how this goes. I realized the most helpful thing I’ve ever gained from psychedelics was getting deep into boundless space and boundless consciousness (5th & 6th jhana). This was a truly lucky experience which allowed me to have much greater control of deep concentration states in the future. The way I see psychedelics now kind of surprises me. My meditation teacher, who started his spiritual journey with psychedelics, always said they can lead to the path but are not ultimately the path. I used to disagree quite heavily on this. It just didn’t make sense why what produced so many of my deepest insights back in the day was now just a secondary pursuit on the path to total Liberation. To me, the comparison between someone benching more weight due to using a weightlifting shirt and psychedelics comes to mind. One day you’ll likely find yourself needing practical strength, but you probably don’t carry your weightlifting shirt around 24/7. I think learning mastery which can be accessed nearly 24/7 is so much more helpful, but I will say that psychedelics are probably the single best tool to lead to further development later on. They just simply stop producing lasting growth because the insight produced can be outpaced by other states such as nirodha samapatti (cessation). A big problem comes with the difficulty and rarity of such states. Psychedelics do produce measurable and repeatable results although there is certainly high variation. This is an advantage when it comes to meditators who struggle to access deep concentration states. Ultimately, the state is NEVER the answer. It is what transcends all states and is present in all which truly matters. This is what I like to call “crystallized insight.” Insight can be present or at least produced from essentially any state. You could do somewhat effective insight practice while watching spongebob. If your goal is “higher consciousness” or some other specific detail or aspect of a peak state, please trust that this type of seeking ultimately meets its end in effectiveness unless you realize that dissolving the dualities inherent in that peak state is where true progress is found. Realizing oneness isn’t really a big insight at a certain point. Dissolving the entire continuum of oneness and multiplicity will take you much further. There are ALWAYS subtler dualities and definitions to be understood and transcended.

Sure, but the more important foundation for all of that is diet. Why don’t you make a post about these things so we can learn from what you’ve mastered in those areas?

I’ve become satiated in the spiritual stuff I’ve heard people being able to do other than mahasamadhi which I have no interest in (do not derail the thread about it either please). What are some awesome spiritual goals which keep you guys motivated to keep going?

Only productive debate is allowed. Call me any derisive words you wish. Humiliate me. But do not post low-level objections. Supposing this is even a good thing and you want liberation, what would you ask me if I held the key to Liberation right in front of you? Would you deride me about how I do not hold the key, examine the key for years asking constant queries, or would you go do something else like masturbate? If I were to suggest a course of action to take, I’d suggest you call your mom or favorite person who will pick up the phone. Tell them why you love them. Nothing here lasts for long.

Enlightenment… Nobody Gets It Here I describe why I’m #1 from an honest yet egoic perspective.

The highest attainments pertain not to a state which one constantly experiences but rather the effectiveness of the tool you use to cut through illusion: Realization and Understanding. Level up those, and that is enlightenment. Experience every aspect of sensate reality that Leo did on his most boisterous research-chemical-in-the-bum escapade, and you have not reached the highest attainments. Develop the same Realization and Understanding which Leo has continuously and constantly use it for ever growing development without end in a compassionate, beautiful, and highly sophisticated moral way, and you might have found the thing which is never found which always finds everything.

Once you penetrate the illusion, you discover the true parinibbanic bliss which comes from fucking the illusion with itself by continuously destroying itself in evermore intricate and tantalizing ways. The best part is the fucking does itself in a completely intuitive and human way in which you discover that the greatest illusion was that anything could be more “enlightened” than you always were. Now you just see the connections of how this eternal death functions.

The greatest thing is that even if I’m wrong, it only reinforces the fact that my true nature is even more astounding than the incomprehensible majesty which I seem to not be able to get rid of for more than a few minutes and even then those moments are great.

About five seconds. No determination is needed to be absolved in formless jhanas or even the main focus object of a formless Jhana in a formed experience. I say to those determined to awaken that the best determination is focused on living the most illustrious version of all and every of your passions, fantasies, and attractions and realize any suffering that comes on that path is the greatest gift.

If you were in front of the Buddha in the flesh 2,600 years ago, what would you ask him?

Because he knows we are dying for eternity falling off a cliff in a burning car while a nuclear bomb goes off in our anuses. Why the fuck would he care about speaking nicely to help you maintain your pleasant illusion?

But you hold all of those things within your own key to your own personal enlightenment. Your journey is 100% unique, but what makes up our journeys does seem to overlap you must admit. But good job noticing and staying true to the individuality of your path ??

If I say I am an arahant out in the open most of the time it’s completely unproductive on all sides, so here I say Liberation which is more palatable and focus more on the fact that I might not be what I claim. I guess I played the game too meta in my attempt to advertise my message to egos.

Enlightenment? It’s part of the focus of this forum.

“Absolute Love is great, but once you get the message, hang up the phone.” Okay… he didn’t really say that, but he did say this about psychedelics: “If you get the message, hang up the phone. For psychedelic drugs are simply instruments, like microscopes, telescopes, and telephones. The biologist does not sit with eye permanently glued to the microscope, he goes away and works on what he has seen.” I suggest what your soul really wants to know is how to love the experience of Absolute Dukkha. What could destabilize you after that?

Your genuine human experience if we’re not hiding things.

Damn it! I don’t like this! I want more haha ? but I don’t give enough of a shit to care on much but just being a good person to others longer than 5 minutes to actualize anything anyway. Even feeling my super satisfying bliss sensations just isn’t worth the effort anymore. I’m just a bum, and it feels so devilishly good.

It’s just inevitable that positive sensations create dissatisfaction eventually and usually have dissatisfactory elements to them even in peak experiences. Just examine your ultimate version of god long enough with the three characteristics and it’ll become an empty shell. Nothing satisfies forever.

This isn’t intellectual loving of dukkha. It’s like jaw-dropping realization that what you were running from your entire life is like your greatest soul mate and perfect match. All sensation is dukkha. And this is no different than saying absolute love. It’s just from a more effective angle now that I’ve actually experienced this stuff with dukkha. It’s way more useful in daily life than absolute love ideas ever were.
