@rudirotbart I have something similar. I would suggest doing some metta meditation. Plus some depth psychotherapy. With the metta meditation I would practice in short bursts. For example, breakup doing a 15 minute loving kindness video into say three minute bursts. The reason I say this is because I imagine that the metta meditation will be quite triggering for you. And by breaking it into parts, I think it's going to be more likely that you're able to be consistent with it. Just a guess on my part but it's the case for me .

@Mileyofpink I'd start doing some sort of inner work, such as meditation. If finances allow for then I recommend also getting started with a depth experiential therapy. That type of therapy, to my understanding, is about really processing the underlying feelings you have stored away in your subconscious. Examples of these, in my opinion, would be gestalt therapy, internal family systems therapy and somatic experiencing therapy.

@BlueOak I'd say stage yellow careers. So it wouldn't tell having a job where you are essentially in a position of responsibility with regard to some sort of system. For example if you were to become a well regarded and effective policy advisor within a government then you could have a very great impact. In my opinion, I'd say being in this position of say a policy advisor would actually enable you to do much greater good and say being a therapist. Forward with a therapist you are limited to say a number of clients in the hundreds during your career. However on a governmental level he would be making decisions which affect the lives of millions of people in that country alone, let alone if you were to influence something like foreign policy. I think the key difference with the stage yellow career is that you are thinking big picture. It's not just how can I help this suffering African Village but instead how can I affect the entire economy of this African country. The former helps dozen's, the latter helps millions

@RebornConsciousness I would agree if we're just talking about me right now. Or for 99.9999% of people. Even those with very high amounts of mindfulness skills with, I imagine, not be able to resist the pain and say torture. But I imagine there are some who have reached such to a high degree of consciousness that they could be tortured and not resist the Sensation . So the thing is I'm not just saying any dude can just decide in the moment that they're just not going to resist the pain or just apply some mindfulness technique to stop resisting in that moment, no. I imagine it requires immense cultivation of skill to acquire that level of mindfulness ability such as to not resist severe pain such as in a torture scenario. I think it is perhaps achievable. -

@Rasheed you can still have pain, pain is an unavoidable part of life. No matter how spiritually developed someone is, in my opinion. However, in my opinion, it is our resistance to that pain which creates suffering. So where there is pain it does not necessarily mean that there is suffering. Because if we do not to resist pain, then it's only pain, not suffering. And, with Spiritual techniques, I believe you can train such that you do not resist pain and hence you do not suffer. -

@pablo_aka_god I'd do a deep dive on inner work. Ie something like pstec or ifs therapy. Plus start a meditation practice of some sort that clicks with you. Also, field report

The self is always coming through

@integral I would disagree. I think that's a very black and white statement to make.
-
@enzyme I wouldn't get dogmatic about avoiding medications . I'd just make sure you've taken into account the relevant considerations and weighed up the pros and cons for yourself.

@Spiritedness I'm still relatively a newbie when it comes to shinzen Young's work and I'm still playing around with how to set up I practice overall. However my intention at the moment is to have a Letting Go style (non-directive) practice alongside these two shinzen practices. Shikantaza would fit in that category of letting go, for me at least. However, my mind struggles with Shikantaza at the moment. So I'm more pulled towards stuff like one giant mind comment if you're familiar with that. -

@Spiritedness also I'd really strongly recommend giving PSTEC click tracks a real go. I'd start off with the basic package. It's a essentially uses, to my understanding, a mixture of NLP and hypnosis. And I've heard it's very useful for a lot of folks with regards to essentially stopping certain emotions from occurring ever again. You can get access to it online. I can't remember if the basic packages for your knot it may cause some money though. I don't think too much money though -
@DefinitelyNotARobot game global is a useful site for that

@Spiritedness Hey dude, I'm still in the process of sorting my stuff out in this area as well. By still think I can contribute something of potential value. In terms of therapy, what comes to mind is you could try out ifs therapy and/or somatic experiencing therapy . With regards to meditation, perhaps shinzen Young's work could be quite good for you. Two aspects of his work strike me as particularly of value to you Firstly, his see-hear-feel technique. I think that could help you deal with the emotions and thoughts that come up and have an improved relationship with these sensory experiences. Secondly, his ' focus on rest' technique. I think that has the potential to induce tranquility in you. Here is a doc: https://www.shinzen.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/SeeHearFeelIntroduction_ver1.8.pdf There is also a course called 'unified mindfulness' which explains it. The course is probably more accessible too He also has YouTube videos about these two things as well -
Yes, thank you from me as well Leo. I am very grateful for your work

@Simple Success I think ifs parts work could have some answers you're looking for
-
@ivankiss you could try and incorporate a non-directive meditation practice. It could help balance you out. My understanding is that shinzen young recommends having both a directive and non-directive meditation practice

@DefinitelyNotARobot find an online forum where people organize Wing meetups. Then arrange to meet up with various wings. Head out with them and then screen them for the qualities you want . If they don't have the qualities that you want then don't meet up with them again. If they do then meet up with them again.

@StarStruck what you could do instead of printing it out is save it as a PDF. Then upload it to say a Google Drive
-
@StarStruck I personally always think the more backups the better

@assx95 Id recommend starting to field report. That way you can ensure that your engaging in deliberate practice rather than aimless practice. In my opinion, the channel karisma king has some good videos regarding field reports. See YouTube for this content.
