  1. @Potential If you have the financial means, I'd look into depth psychotherapies such as gestalt therapies, and IFS therapy. Developing some mindfulness practices so that you become aware of your unconscious beliefs would be helpful in regards to the therapy, and also just useful in itself, in my opinion, too.
  2. https://centerforintegralwisdom.org/thought-leader-dialogues/ifs-integral-and-unique-self/ Discussion between 3 speakers. Two of which being Ken Wilber (Founder/ creator of Integral theory) and Richard Schwartz (Founder/ Creator of IFS therapy)

  4. @Yimpa Damn, things just keep getting better and better in this department. i wonder how much of an improvement they've managed to make already.
  5. @StarStruck I like it man. I respect all the work you seem to be doing on yourself btw.
  6. @koyadr3 Hey mate, I respect your situation. I'd advise getting started with some inner work on the side as well. Maybe some IFS therapy on the side if you have the finances. Sounds to me like you might be more of a hardcase newbie, which I think requires more inner work on the side. Also, if you want to cold approach, I'd really work on your goal setting. Just work on things like saying 'hi' being your goal. Or even just turning up at the place you wish to game at. Then build over time. Maybe try and get some supportive wings too.
  7. @StarStruck Maybe make some of your free association about her too. I.e. "Ow, cool. I never had the chance to read Harry Potter. I bet you read Harry potter though. You have that kind of a vibe to me" I'm not experienced in game btw. But I'll chip in if i think i can still be of value. Maybe just take my thoughts on this topic with a pinch of salt though. I don't wanna mislead you. I understand the green name colour can imply some authority.
  8. @Lincisman I get you posted this a little while back now. But, in my experience, and to my understanding, the IFS process looks quite different given the way your psyche is currently structured, and what defence mechanisms your psyche has adopted. Some folks seem to get a lot more success working with parts in the body, i.e. I've noticed that to be the case with some who experience serious and chronic dissociation. Also, similar to the user above, I've had a lot of resistance with the process. But again I think that has a lot to do with my specific psychic structure. I think if you go into it having had some effective results in meditation then that helps. Though I don't think its a barrier to entry.
  9. @Hardkill There are a lot of very rich groups and people in the US who put a lot of funding into manipulating the populace into the believing in neoliberal views. Lots of big donor funding for people like Ben Shapiro, fox news etc. I think Noam Chomsky's ideas around manufactured consent could prove insightful for you on this issue.
  10. Hi all, I am trying out experimenting with a meditation where in I just try to note whenever i become aware of a different sense. Each time i do I note 'experience'. My intent is to just attention drift naturally. I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of meditation this. Thanks in advance.
  11. @Something Funny Perhaps you would find value in reading the books, 'Mastery' by George Leonard, and 'Atomic Habits' by James Clear. Maybe integrating the lessons from those books could help make your more intense meditation goals more likely.
  12. Men aren't just putting on a persona for women in my opinion. Its for other guys a lot of the time. If guys acted authentically in a lot of circles they would likely be shunned or even unsafe. The traumatisation during school is pretty harsh for a lot of guys growing up too, especially at schools lower down the socioeconomic ladder. Its pretty brutal the bullying that happens to a fair few of the kids who get identified as outcasts or different. Some of that trauma ends up staying with kids for life. So, there is a lot of survival benefit to maintaining a macho persona. People don't just put on personas for no reason. And, on the matter of pickup, I think what some people don't take into account is how many guys use it as a means to learn serious social skills, hence using it as a means of therapy.
  13. @abundance Thanks for the compliment Yep, i don't doubt the positive impact of meditation in prisons. I believe meditation can be a very powerful tool. I get your point about empathy, meditation and political change.
  14. @Schizophonia I think i found some of your leaked infield footage mate
  15. @abundance I think you'd also need to account for the dark side of meditation. In terms of all the unconscious stuff it brings up, i wouldn't be surprised if some people ended up becoming more violent as a consequence, and that would derail the whole thing. Also, i imagine the optics of such a group meditation would not go down well with many demographics. I.e. i think a lot would see it as a means of trying to dulcify the oppressed sections of societies and they would act in some manner. Really I think improving mass consciousness would be much better achieved via focusing and advocating for political change, and also technological advancement. Mainly advocating for political change though in my opinion.
  16. @DocWatts I'd actually disagree with some of your points of view here. I.e. with regards to "No quantity and quality of meditation in the world is going to help someone who's struggling to keep a roof over their head." I don't think that is true. I don't think its true that meditation will mainly just make them more resilient in the face of bad circumstances. I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few in human history have found peace, despite very adverse circumstances, through meditation. I mean i think that is why meditation is so popular really. It was sorted of created to deal with the depravities of the pre-modern age, where any day you could just die, drop dead, have your wife be suddenly raped and killed, be exiled from the tribe etc.
  17. @Paul Boldyrev Thanks man. I like your vibe btw dude ?
  18. @Leo Gura I think if you learnt IFS theory and had direct experience with it you would have a different perspective.
  19. @Jowblob Ye bud maybe tone it down with the projection accusations. (I'm not speaking in my capacity as a mod in making in this comment though)
  20. @BlessedLion I feel like, from your posts and comments, you're transitioning from stage orange into stage green much more. And I think this post here fits with that. Very stage green attitude, in my opinion. But ye, more on topic, I've felt a big misanthropic mindset come into greater play in my mind. Something i try and work on. Think it was there before. That said, I think a certain misanthropic attitude can be a part of the self actualization journey. Particularly if one's intellectual development outpaces one's inner emotional and belief work. I think that is certainly the case for me and i resonate with the quote: Ecclesiastes 1:18 "For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief". However, my belief is that once one makes significant gains in their emotional mastery journey then that misanthropic attitude becomes more integrated, and just one of an array of various personal attitudes.
  21. @Paul Boldyrev I'd include a concentration practice. Leo has a video titled concentration vs meditation.
  22. @EdgeGod900 Ye it is I unfortunately do not catch your drift *cries*
  23. @integral Fairs. Maybe, at this point of your life, your time would be better spent outside of this forum.
  24. @MsNobody Lmao! I literally had the same exact thought about ex machina. I also thought about the film 'Her' lol. @MsNobody Haha ye it blows my mind that something like this has finally been created. And it was literally created by some dude on reddit who just got a lot of progress out of usual IFS and wanted to turn it into an AI! He says he's going to continue to try to refine it over time too. The future is now
