  1. @michaelcycle00 You can always actualize yourself and create systems that help emancipate people from their suffering.
  2. @trenton I'd try and physically leave your family environment. Then also do either Gestalt/ IFS therapy
  3. I think the following book is very helpful for bringing clarity to the technique as well. In contrast to other books on the technique, I find the writing much more down to earth and accessible in said book. Book: "Centering Prayer and Inner Awakening", by Cynthia Bourgeault
  4. Centering prayer, as taught by Thomas Keating and the organization he founded, Contemplative Outreach, is a very simple yet profound contemplative practice that orients you on the path toward transformation in Christ. The basic guidelines are: 1. Choose a sacred word as the symbol of your intention to consent to God’s presence and action within. 2. Sitting comfortably and with eyes closed, settle briefly and silently introduce the sacred word as the symbol of your consent to God’s presence and action within. 3. When engaged with your thoughts (which include body sensations, feelings, images, and reflections), return ever so gently to the sacred word. 4. At the end of the prayer period, remain in silence with eyes closed for a couple of minutes. ------ In my opinion, this can also be seen as a type of non directive meditation. Also, you can use the breath, or an image instead of the sacred word too, i,e. sacred breath, or sacred image. A good book on this type of prayer/ meditation seems to be: 'The path of centering prayer: deepening your experience of god', by David Frenette
  5. @ronda I think Shinzen Young's see hear feel mindfulness system could be very helpful for you atm: https://www.shinzen.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/SeeHearFeelIntroduction_ver1.8.pdf
  6. @StarStruck Ye dude, inner game is the true red pill imo.
  7. @Charlotte Hey sorry to hear about your situation. With regards to the low consciousness stuff you are engaging in, I'd accept that that is where you are at. And then make it so those actvities becoming more fruitful for you. So, if you are say using facebook a lot, I'd like a couple high consciousness pages. Or if you can't stop watching films, maybe start a watch project of a higher consciousness type film director. I'd take it easy on yourself too. Maybe do some metta meditation. You didn't choose this health problem.
  8. @The Redeemer This is laughably toxic dude. Its clear to me you need serious psychotherapy.
  9. Unless you go wild on the dance floor. I've had a few girls approach me and sort of game me when i just let myself go wild on the dance floor lol
  10. @Michiryoku Hey dude, Sorry to hear you are going through all this. It sounds to me like you might fit a diagnosis of complex post traumatic stress disorder. I'd recommend you get involved with one of the following therapy types: - Internal family system therapy, Gestalt therapy, Craniosacral therapy, somatic experiencing therapy. Edit: Also, re the ketamine, its my understanding that ketamine is a dissociative psychedelic. So perhaps a different type of psychedelic would be better for you while you are dissociated. That said, I'm not that knowledgeable re psychedelics.
  11. @Scholar I swear Destiny is always debating some random new public figure everyday ?
  12. @Hello from Russia Personally, dumbass type people motivate me to do spirituality so i don't get triggered by their bs anymore ?
  13. @The Redeemer My guess is you are projecting your self contempt onto others dude. in other words, you have deep feelings of shame, and so your mind looks for any indicators that others have disdain/ contempt for you. I have a similar thing myself that I deal with.
  14. @T_i_m First thought in my mind when i read Op's post ?
  15. Found footage of BlessedLion after reading Leo's latest blog posts.
  16. @Federico del pueblo You're welcome mate. All the best with it
  17. @ShardMare If you buy the book 'feeling good' by David Burns that will give you a lot to work with. Also, if you just google cbt worksheets i think you'll come across some resources.
  18. @Federico del pueblo Probably worth joining a specific subreddit and/or facebook group that is about holotropic breathwork. then ask your question there as well
  19. @bensenbiz Same, re doing it for personal growth. I started it based off advice from a youtuber called David Tian a few years back.
  20. @Yimpa Thanks. Reminds of an exercise I used to do as part of a method acting class which involved sort of yelling to try and access blocked emotions. lol.
  21. @bensenbiz I'm not sure. I deal with pretty severe emotional numbness, so I don't know what the norm is.
  22. @bensenbiz To my understanding, Shinzen would class focusing on breath to be an outer sensory experience. He classes physical body sensations, which would include breath sensations, as being an outer feel sensory experience. Whilst the inner feel sensory experience would be your emotional sensations.
  23. @Yimpa Hiya, yep. I would recommend trying out Shinzen Young's 'note gone' technique on the painful sensory experiences "Whenever all or part of a sensory experience suddenly disappears note that. By note I mean clearly acknowledge when you detect the transition point between all of it being present and at least some of it no longer being present. If you wish, you can use a mental label to help you note. The label for any such sudden ending is “Gone.” If nothing vanishes for a while, that’s fine. Just hang out until something does. If you start worrying about the fact that nothing is ending, note each time that thought ends. That’s a “Gone.” If you have a lot of mental sentences, you’ll have a lot of mental periods – full stops, Gones!" - Shinzen Young Here is the full article https://www.shinzen.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/art_PowerofGone.pdf I've also attached Shinzen's dynamic labelling system. You can play around with labelling 'gone' using different intensities of labels, and see what helps you be with the painful sensations with most ease in the moment.
