@Something Funny Got diagnosed with it, though likely a cptsd misdiagnosis. But in the few years I was diagnosed with it, I researched a lot about it and spent a fair amount of time in online adhd communities.
-
@Something Funny Yeah if you have ADHD, I'd really recommend taking medication for it.

Hey, I think the book, 'The artist's way' by Julia Cameron could be helpful for you. Especially, the journaling method she advocates called 'Morning pages'.

Type of psychotherapy

Concentration meditation or IFS are good starts imo. Especially the former

@Thought Art You the man bro. I like the thread.

The IFS self therapy book series by Jay Earley is a good resource for this sort of thing too, imo. Thing is your gonna be a newbie doing this sort of thing on yourself. Compared to having the expertise of a higher level IFS therapist. So, good to have a mentor via a higher level therapist I think. Can be especially tricky if you have issues accessing self. At least that was the case for me. I tried a lot of self ifs work but didn't get much progress with it.

Here are some recommendations from me. (* = My top recommendations) 1. Try and run some *PSTEC click tracks. Its an NLP/ Hypnosis program which helps eliminate strong emotions linked to memories. (Bit hard to find online though maybe) 2. *IFS therapy (Try and work with a therapist with a level 2 IFS training or above. Bonus if they also work as a program assistant.) 3. Read *Pete Walker's CPTSD surviving to thriving (Also look into CPTSD in general) 4. EMDR (If you have numerous traumatic memories, or they occurred over prolonged period, would prioritize IFS therapy) 5. TRE exercises 6. Psychiatric medication 7. Journaling

“Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work: you don’t give up.” - Anne Lamott

The old seek first to understand then to be understood is a good principle in my opinion. Sort of say what they said to you in a reworded format, and be like 'Am i understand correctly that you... [insert reworded]' Failing that, crucial conversations is a good one imo.

IFS. Even just knowing the theory is helpful imo.

Really recommend this line of massage guns. If price is an issue, can look into getting one second hand
-
@Bear632 Deep tissue type stuff imo. Also, not just doing it one off, but say twice a month or something like that, I'd say. But better still, I'd try see a massage practioner who will sort of tailor their approach based on how your body reacts imo.

Sign you've grown imo Also, you might like the book, 'The power of regret' By Daniel Pink

Hey dude, Am impressed by the action you're taking. Sounds to me like you are doing the right sorts of things. Perhaps also adding in massage to help with the trauma trapped in the form of body tension could help too.

Well, cut my dick off and call me Ulaxella, I think I've finally made it out of the inner hood

@ZenAlex Have you tried any chanting meditations before?
-
@ZenAlex Yep. Just would require more expertise and be less likely imo. I've read numerous stories of people with severe cptsd recovering w/o meds.
