  1. I have experimented with psychedelics in the past, and I have experienced these amazing mystical states and nirvanic realms. I did experience a psychosis, and I thankfully recovered quickly from that paradigm lock. I don’t want to risk my mental health with psychedelics, but I am still very passionate about Truth. I have tried meditation but it gives me de-realisation. Literally whenever I stop meditating my de-realisation goes away. I feel quite lost spiritually. All other aspects of my life are actually going very well.
  2. I have been contemplating the idea of life narrative and how we all have an egoic based narrative set for our lives. I will begin to explain how deep this goes, exploring the concept of narrative lock. Firstly, to understand this, we need to look at what a narrative is. Our entire life narrative begins with a consistent first person narrative. We are living a life where things are happening to us, whether they are good or bad. Because of this limited perspective, we have blind spots. Imagine the difference between watching a movie in first person vs third person. In third person narratives it’s easier to see the bigger picture and the storyline isn’t diluted by subjective opinion, as the perspective is more factual and omniscient. Your egoic first person perspective has thoughts and emotions which warp your life narrative. For example just by having a specific belief system, you may think the government is out to kill BAME communities with Covid vaccine trials. This is is total nonsense, formed out of irrational fear. The fear creates governmental distrust and commonly it forms rebellion. Now you’re on a rebellion against the government. This rebellion neglects the amazing advances in science and to your quality of life. I have seen this too many times, people end up working minimum wage jobs as they feel victimised by the world and feel they are controlled by the “elites” and it all started with these irrational beliefs. That would be a narrative lock. Your narrative in your head has materialised in the real world as an actual story and now your ego is stuck in it. To escape a narrative lock requires awareness of the narrative you’re in. For example, the person who went against the government, in this example, could realise they have interest in a specific science e.g. health (hence why they were so concerned about the vaccines) and they could actually go and explore the field of health themselves, developing key skills and opportunities and entering into a career they’re passionate about. Also be aware that narrative locks work by routine and sleep/wake cycles. You’re only awake so long, and then you’re asleep again, and sometimes you’re not even aware of how your narrative is being locked by your specific routine. An example of this is getting a part time job. Some people get narrative locked in the part time job and they can’t escape it. They think that job role is their life. The way to escape that narrative lock is to have your long term vision written down, so you can refer to it when you feel lost. Sometimes people take psychedelics and that gives them a different perspective and that awareness of their life narrative can be the cause to change it. I hope you kinda get an understanding of what I’m explaining. I don’t want to make this post too long.
  3. @tosee2020 Your eye is obviously straining to focus properly, check to see if your prescription is correct. It may be an issue with the adjustment period.
  4. @AlwaysJoggin It’s just against human phycological wellbeing to isolate and do nothing. It would obviously lower mood and negatively affect mental health. You can find articles about people who have mental breaks from meditation. Meditation isn’t for everyone. If something else works well for you keep doing it. I find I don’t like meditating but hugging my pet I could do for an hour, because it’s actually therapeutic by nature. It doesn’t cause any signs of distress.
  5. Leo, do you have anymore insight into permanent liberation. How might the mechanics of liberation work from a neuroscience perspective?
  6. @WonderSeeker Life has cyclical patterns to it. Depression is, poetically, like the seasons.
  7. @Shiva99 Losing interest is a sign of depression you may need to get CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) to help understand what’s going on in your mind. There may be deeper issues your not fully conscious of. It may just be a case of not engaging in activity, leading to negative thoughts and emotions and creating a cycle where you think negative thoughts about the activity and feel demotivated to engage in them. You might need to create a better support system, everyone needs someone to talk to. Also fixing your financial situation is very important. Alcohol and Gambling are two things I would be high cautious of. Gambling is statistically against you, you’re guaranteed to lose money from it. Alcohol is a downward spiral stay completely away from that, if you’re an alcoholic. Scale your mood from 1-10 during the day, and find out what lifts your mood in a health way. For me personally self-care increases my mood 2-3 points. Also, I go through cycles of depression and then other times I feel amazing. The main thing is to try to maintain a relatively stable mood.
  8. @black_math49 I agree on the transcendence of physical experience, not on the transcendence of physical laws.
  9. @black_math49 I understand the perspective your coming from, however it doesn’t dismiss the dualistic nature of reality. There is still the laws of duality in place, whether you transcend them or not.
  10. @bejapuskas We’re having a respectable debate, it’s not going around in circles. I’ve actually got some insight from this.
  11. @Bill Hunter You had a temptation, you acted on it and there wasn’t some theological God to punish you. The only thing punishing you was your own guilt. Sexual desire is deeply rooted in men’s phycology and a lot of men have gone to sex workers. That isn’t to justify it, it’s just to reassure you that you’re not alone. I personally don’t believe women should sell themselves sexually as the insides of a woman’s body are not a workplace. You could consider it a lesson on how to treat a women correctly. You don’t view women as sex objects but as people with thoughts and feelings. Making mistakes is the hard way of learning in life, but the lessons learned will stick deep with you, and you will come out a better person. The guardian issue you’re talking about is not new. Priest have been suppressing sexuality in society for a long time and as a result prostitution was born. You can read about this on Osho’s blog. http://www.osho.com/osho-online-library/osho-talks/beauty-satisfaction-prostitution-fb4edfac-0de?p=b8069eac11b0e454b8b916e67cdfc4b8
  12. People do not understand the scientific process and it’s benefits. It’s a shame people are exposed to excessive amounts of misinformation on the internet. If people were genuinely interested in Chemotherapy they could read scientific journals which actually talk about the benefits and cons about this cancer treatment, in a non-biased way.
  13. @Michael569 So you gonna back up these claims with some peer-reviewed literature?
  14. Yes, but that doesn’t necessarily interfere with one’s ability to look directly at Actuality with clear discernment, unless your intellect interferes as a distraction. Once you have enough awakenings, it doesn’t matter what you give your authority to, there’s a permanent paradigm shift.
  15. @Carl-Richard You’ve already given your authority away to theoretical ideology and you don’t even realise it.
  16. @Carl-Richard Such a pointless question, I’m finished with this discussion.
  17. @Carl-Richard Do you know what common sense is?
  18. @Carl-Richard I’m not deciding which authority decides that. It’s common sense, Jesus!
  19. @Carl-Richard No! This is empirical evidence. You’re not gonna change the fact you can’t fly. That’s an authority you’re not going to change. You don’t decide that.
  20. @Carl-Richard Science is a rather big authority figure when it comes to reality.
  21. @actualizing25 You still have to contemplate, meditate and build a theoretical framework to get the benefits of psychedelics. There is no other way to get to those extreme levels of consciousness, without altering the chemicals in your brain. Those insights on psychedelics provide clarity to what Being is and can cause permanent consciousness increase. It just seems a waste of time without it to be totally honest.
  22. @Sam Alexander Your meditation practice is cutting the false barrier between yourself and actuality. The mind creates a foggy cloud that stops the mind from observing actuality concisely. Your discernment is being sharpened to a point where reality is becoming mildly disturbing. You are becoming aware of emptiness how alien-like infinite intelligence seems. You’re realising how alone God is. God literally creates false egos to experience being not alone. It’s not absolutely insane.
  23. @Johnny5 I have read all Santata Gamana’s yoga books, tried the methods for months and they were honestly a useless waste of time.
