Wouldn’t your soul already be in a different dimension if thats what you believe you are? Where is your soul located in this dimension then?

Its paradoxical and doesn't work that way. If you are talking about true enlightenment -

Exactly I've used fluoride-free toothpaste for the last 4 years and my teeth have been better than ever How about avoiding the things more concerning to cause cavities (sugar, processed foods) with all around clean nutrition and staying on top of your dental hygiene with fluoride free natural toothpaste and flossing? How exactly is one gonna get cavities that way? -

I'm not familiar with who you are talking about, but, how many Zen masters have wikipedia pages though? To my knowledge not many. There can't be a direct correlation between self mastery and fame Usually the most noticed celebrities by the masses have the biggest egos (kardashians, lol) because so many lost people idolize their lavish lives wanting to be them. The bigger you get as an ego-less person the less of the general public there is that is gonna relate to you or value/understand where you are coming from -

Leo doesn't talk to fish dude, he talks to the camera in his white shirt. The fish has no concept of ownership and isn't even aware of the concept of "fish" by the way. -
Another good substitute for caffeine is a cold ass shower right when you wake up in the morning. A tall glass of water with lemon juice and taking a freezing shower after is a powerful morning routine. The CEO of Onnit Aubrey Marcus put that in his book "Own the Day", I've tried it and its a great way to start some of my days, at least for me, so something worth giving a try

Yes, going off topic on a little rant here but I think coffee being a social norm is the lesser of 2 evils compared to alcohol being a social norm. The chemical is literally poison for your body. Such a poison your body will stop the metabolism of nutrients to excrete it from your body as fast as possible. Not to mention the other chemicals that are lumped in with the alcoholic beverage in wine, spirits, ect that cause all sorts of health problems. Was reading articles about cancer causing chemicals in wine. Not to say coffee can't have bad byproducts included like heavy metals, but can at least be minimized by going with organic coffee. At least coffee can be used in strategically as a exercise/fitness aid to give you a little metabolic fat burning boost on a morning fast for example, alcohol has literally no such use. And as far as caffeine disrupting sleep, which it does (especially the older or slower metabolism a person has) this can be remedied by not taking it past noon or maybe like 2pm at the latest since the half-life is roughly 6-8 hours Society has deemed alcohol only "socially acceptable" (unless you are on vacation doing all day drinking) for later in the day use most of the time, which is even more likely of lowering the quality of your sleep and fucking up your REM cycles. BTW @Consilience Some things that have helped me when I do drink coffee is putting raw cacao powder in it for the magnesium which helps natural energy production, along with taking an L-theanine capsule with it to offset the jangling/jittery effect. As well as substituting it for matcha green tea at times. Go organic too when you do indulge, not all coffee is equal, even if it means spending a couple more bucks its worth not getting the nasty heavy metals

I would say I'm at a lower stage of enlightenment, where I am just starting to get the ball rolling with practices of meditation and self-inquiry as well as reading books and tripping on mushrooms with intent to let go of my notion of self. I'm really excited to be on this journey and I feel a powerful alignment of my consciousness that I've never felt before in my life. My emotions still get the best of me more than I want and I struggle with over-thinking and anxiety about certain situations. Just this morning I was worried about being late to class at university, being my first day in the class worried the teacher will thinking poorly of me, even though me being late this morning was not in my control, I hit horrible traffic even though I planned ahead the night before, I struggled to let go of this anxiety minutes before showing up. Everything turned out to be perfectly fine though, which helped reinforce my original intent, but small battles like this are kind of helping me chip away at the bigger things I need to let go of in my life. I've been a Personal Trainer for around 2 years and fitness/physical therapy is a realm I want to achieve mastery in. I'm pretty passionate about fitness and can become neurotic about working out at times. I started off being neurotic about the way I look, I got past that (mostly) and now I do different forms of exercise just because I find it fun and makes me feel alive, but can be neurotic about that too, so I am still battling to find a balance. -
If you are addicted to something, like coffee, a good recontextualization would be, instead of viewing the coffee as an object that provides happiness for you, view yourself as the true source of the happiness that was being brought out by the action of drinking coffee. Realize that you are the source of all happiness and it can be attained regardless of having the coffee or not. That being said, your father who hasn't spoke with you in years wants to reunite and get a cup coffee with you at the coffee shop, meet up with him and enjoy the coffee.

Mix in as many different modalities as you can, meditation, self-inquiry, mindfulness, contemplation, yoga, psychedelics and build on them. read a lot of books remember though the map is not the territory, there is no fastest path, it will be different and unique for you -

And going beyond that, there is no such thing as right or wrong But at some point you have to let wisdom do the talking, not non-dual theory -

Seems like you are stuck in a conceptual prison of over-analysis. These thoughts wouldn't be going through your head if the situation was actually happening to you. -

Lol, the only reason you aren't dead right now and you are typing on this forum is because you have acknowledged the dangers of relative reality and your survival. Why are you even wanting to bet money with me if its all awareness? lol. Whats the point of that dude? -
TrynaBeTurquoise replied to Ibn Sina's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Thats beside the point. So if a police officer told you to put your hands behind your head at gunpoint because there happened to be a misunderstanding about you being a criminal lets say, would you not do it because "its all God and its all you, so whats the point?" Would following orders be just living as a reduced self? Or would it just be the wise thing to do? If you put your hands behind your head you are acknowledging the relative. Just as the absolute is relative, the relative is also the absolute. -
TrynaBeTurquoise replied to Ibn Sina's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Yes, I understand that. Absolute and relative are the same, from the absolute perspective. You have to integrate the absolute back into everyday reality my friend, or you are missing the point of spirituality. You can't just be referring to everything as God all the time even though that is ultimately true, you are right. Like a policeman wants you to pull over your car and you say to him "there is no car I can pull over officer, its only God, its only me!" -

Thanks bro, you are me and I <3 you too, in the absolute sense, not romantically. Hidden Text-> Okay, maybe a little bit romantically :0 -
TrynaBeTurquoise replied to Ibn Sina's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I think its just relative. Take a simple seemingly dumb object like a rock and travel into the sub-atomic realm that comprises it and it won't be simple at all anymore. You might even find Ant-man down there too -
How do you know you are in a human body? Because you've been conditioned to believe that your whole life? Was that an original thought of yours that no one ever told you? You knew the concept of "human" or "body" before someone fed you that information? Nope You say you can't be God because you can't make things appear and control physical reality at will (leaf falling off a tree). Can you partially create/manipulate things in the environment? Yes, you can plant a seed and a plant will grow. But you can't even control your own thoughts and emotions at will. Can you partially try to change the thoughts in your head and repress your emotions? Yes, but ultimately you are controlled by your thinking/emotions to an extent you aren't even conscious of. Why else would you suffer in life? So your logic here holds no ground. You can't even control yourself. Your body doesn't even need your "conscious control" to do anything at all, billions of cells that make up your body are doing billions of tasks by themselves that you couldn't even describe. At what point do you stop being the billions of cells you are comprised of and become who you define as "you". There is no such a hard line, try to find it, it doesn't exist. At what point do the neurological circuits in your brain become more than just neurons doing their own thing you aren't aware of and become "you"? If you have a pure open mind you reconsider who "you" truly are.

Quitting coffee isn't gonna give you more natural energy directly. Upping your fitness level and metabolism will. You need to up the intensity of your exercise. That being said coffee isn't bad itself. Poison is in the dosage. It can be used as a valuable tool at times, or other forms of caffeine like matcha green tea. Just use it strategically.

Because “you” arent a human in the absolute sense, you are God imagining you are human. This doesnt mean you neglect your human life. Do self-inquiry practice. Try to find where the “you” resides in your human body and mind. Youll be unable to find “you” if you do it correctly.

Oakland decriminalizing all psychedelics is a huge step forward in the right direction. Grateful that psychedelics are not a top busting priority, now that more people are being woke to how ridiculous they are to be illegal. Portland Psychedelic Society on youtube is a good resource for a lot of cutting edge psychedelic info -
Did you mean to quote Leo? i didnt say anything about duality Truth just is, yes. You are right about that. Your core misunderstanding is what you think the word “you” is referring to when you take the statement “you are God” and get outraged at how someone could be deluded thinking that they are God. you have to examine deeper what “you” is referring to, its not your ego, your personal identity as a human that encapsulates God, yet that is still a part of God.

Anyone else experience this? the other week on 2g of psilocybe cubensis watching planet earth admiring the beauty of the jungle, I am looking at a monkey in a tree, and this eye ? just suddenly opens up on the fur of the monkey or your entire visual field just becoming eyes, just popping out of everything is a common one I would read of trip reports any significance to this or symbolic meaning? -
Dude at this point I don’t even know what you are trying to say. Read a book about non-duality or two before you dogmatically state your beliefs against something you clearly don’t grasp. Its like you are trying to argue against something which you don’t even understand what the counter argument is trying to say.

Hyperventilation is short, shallow breaths that actually de-oxygenates you from my understanding. The shamanic breathing is deep breaths into your diaphragm that will give you excess oxygen compared to normal breathing. From a physiological standpoint its not dangerous in of itself, but there are other factors like your mental state to take into account. If you are a healthy individual with a healthy mind who practices meditation I wouldn’t worry too much.
