  1. You have to be slightly pragmatic in your approach. If you don't know how to make a living, try to figure that out first. If you are not alive, you can't read books. If music is your passion, you can start playing on the streets. People will chip in money if they see your passion and love for the music. There is this girl I follow on youtube. She has millions of followers and cheers up people with her music. You can try something similar to what she is doing. I have read all the books by David Hawkins. ALL OF THEM. The only thing I learned from them was to understand myself better. Nothing else. I have read hundreds of books that helped get to the so-called "enlightenment". Enlightenment won't give you anything. Absolutely Nothing. Seek your happiness and fulfillment first. Only when you are fulfilled, you can become empty again. You are more special than you think.
  2. It is impossible. If you don't get enlightened from reading 1 500 books, reading 150 000 won't show you the light.
  3. Everything is perfect, but also everything is infinite. The infinite, although perfect can always be infinitely more perfect.

  5. The muscle test works 'sometimes'. You can test it with different people and validate it for yourself. Even if you don't believe in the muscle test, you should read his books. David Hawkins has an uncanny way with words in describing non-dual experience and outlining the evolution of consciousness. Reading his books will help you with your own evolution.
  6. Byron Katie - on love and self-acceptance. Tony Robbins - on Personal development Neville Goddard - on Self-awareness They have many of their books in audiobook format, so you can take a pick depending on what interests you.
  7. You are only 22 years old. You went on the right path, but you went too far. That is ok. There is no such thing as damaged beyond repair. Everything can be repaired if you have the right tools. You have learned self-help, and that is all the help you need to cure the self. We all make mistakes, and from our mistakes, we learn what to do and what not to do. Do not despair, better days are ahead.
  8. No, I am only lying to five years olds. The explanation was for them. The ones who are lying are economists. They obfuscate language to make their knowledge appear more sophisticated than it is.
  9. You are the arbiter of the truth. God is the arbiter of The Truth.
  10. If you imagine that it helps, it helps. But yes. Once you have "died", life is taken less seriously.
  11. Here is a summary of the world economy for a five-year-old to understand. If you remove the economic jargon, its pretty simple. China makes things and ships them the states. The states buy things from China, thus American gets the goods and the Chinese get the dollars. Chinese get the dollars, and they send them to the NY Stock exchange to invest. Americans have the goods and now they also have the money. China makes more goods, America prints more money. The cycle repeats. Until it doesn't. I agree. But I will probably take a few years for everything to play out.
  12. You have the memory of the experience and its only your memory that remembers the duration of the experience. Therefore you know it lasted longer. It teaches you that time can be fluid. Time exists within your perception of experience and could vary.
  13. Earned is cherished more than the unearned. Earned wisdom is embodied, unearned is not embodied.
  14. It is a gross simplification of trade. When America was an exporter of goods, other countries needed dollars to buy their goods. So foreign countries bought the dollar in hopes to buy American goods. These days, America only sells debt and very few goods. Yes. Most of the debt issued globally is denominated in US dollar, and the dollar is perceived to be stronger than other currencies. But I think America has been abusing their power of global currency for way too long. All abuse of power eventually terminates with loss of power. Thanks for the information.
  15. When you accept the ideas of others, you adopt their perspective. Don't do that. Use their ideas as a small beam of light that allows you to explore the darkness. You can borrow from their light, but as long as you borrow, you will never shine on your own. Create your own perspective. Create your own Light.
  16. We are transitioning to a more green energy economy. The reliance on oil as a source of energy will continue to decrease in the future. America used to be the biggest exporter of goods in the world. Since it exported a lot, it required other countries to hold dollar reserves with which they could buy the American exports. Initially, the US dollar was pegged to gold but later removed the peg. These days, the US has immense trade deficits to the rest of the world, but it kept its reserve currency status. My guess is that this won't remain the case for very long. @commie What a the sensible reasons? I am interested in learning more.
  17. This is transference. He shouldn't channel his hatred into a different object, but rather investigate the root cause of his hatred. Transference helps temporarily, but the original problem is not resolved.
  18. No. I would update my real name to my username. I picked my username, while others picked my real name. But in the end, the name doesn't matter much. You need to be consistent with your views so you don't develop a multiple personality disorder. LOL
  19. This is a good summary. Until recently, oil was the major energy source that moved the world. You must use energy to move things. All the world's oil was being bought for US dollars, which made the US currency a neccessary reserve to be used by central banks around the world. This helped make the dollar a global currency. But the tides are now slowly changing, so expect the rise and fall of currencies in the coming 10 years.
  20. Assume that everyone acts based on what they know. If these people knew better, they would probably have done better. Assume that the root of all evil is ignorance. Of course, there are people that act based on evil for evil's sake. Don't worry about these people for these people are cutting the branch on which they stand on, metaphorically speaking. Would you do that to reward your ego that you are right and they are wrong? What is the payoff of telling them to their face? Why does it matter if you were right when you have already been hurt? Let it go. Don't hold resentment toward them. Forgive them and forgive yourself and move on with your life. Contemplate what would you do differently if you encounter a similar situation in the future.
  21. That is a clever title. Its a book for Nobody. You are the True Yoga Master. The student follows the master until he realizes that he is the Master himself. If the student remains a student forever, then he followed the wrong Master.
  22. Then it is not an addiction. What you truly desire is only the Truth. But Truth can have infinite disguises. Addictions are always misperceptions of what you truly want.
  23. Yes. But do you get your friend? You can't always get your way, and you can't always accept the way of others. Arguments are sometimes necessary to find the middle way.
  24. This is a good approach. Imagine the future you want to live in and make it your reality. Imagine the greatest future for all humanity and make it our reality.
