  1. He isn’t making concessions, removing from the discussion to major threat Russia sees of Ukraine joining NATO allows for more good faith negotiations as Russia will see continuing as less a means of survival
  2. The 43,000 comes from Ukraine, but they are hiding the reality to avoid demoralization. The US estimated Ukraine had 57,000 killed and a confidential source told WSJ they had 80,000 killed in September. The 850,000 claim about Russia comes from Ukraine so they are likely exaggerating and includes killed OR wounded. If we are counting wounded then Ukraine’s number is also much higher. Ukraine has done 10 mobilizations, Russia has done one. Russia has 1.5 soldiers and 2 million reserve, and has 4x the population as Ukraine. The Russian economy grew in 2024 according to IMF and the world bank.
  3. I would love for everyone saying trump is betraying Ukraine to explain the alternative. Just keep funding the war until Ukraine literally runs out of men? There was no progress being made.

  5. Many of those men are in sexless relationships because the woman got them to marry on the promise of intimacy then stopped it when they couldn’t leave
  6. It is a double standard. When a man wants to get laid or ghosts a girl he gets accused of “using her”. But if a woman is directly seeking lonely men or men in unhappy marriages to pay her we are supposed to applaud her. It’s a toxic business model. The women doing it become desensitized and develop contempt for men which damages their future relationships, and the men get exploited for their resources and don’t pursue healthier avenues of connection.
  7. Sounds like you want traditional values without a traditional man. Usually it doesn’t work that way.
  8. If China can become strong enough quickly it would make the US more reasonable about countering it. When the US wants to stop a power that is not yet strong they will use extreme violence and wreck entire countries. Look at what they did to Iraq, Syria, Libya, none of which were even considered actual threats to US safety. China wants to expand its influence in its region as do all countries. This won’t stop. The US trying to aggressively counter it will make China more aggressive in response and things will spiral out of control. China has internal human rights abuses, but that’s not an issue for the rest of the world as bad as it is. Regarding its foreign policy which is what affects us it has so far been more focused on soft power and economic development. The US is far more aggressive and regularly backs backs dictators, coups and extremist groups and has caused proxy wars that kill hundreds of thousands. A strong China and strong US could counter each others worse impulses. As Chinese become wealthier they will want more freedom domestically like the US, as China expands its influence less-violently it can pressure America diplomatically to be less violent in its foreign policy. An example of the difference in foreign policy tactics is recently China tried brokering peace between Iran and Saudi Arabia and Hamas and Fatah through diplomatic talks. The way the US dealt with Saudi Arabia and Iran was supporting Iraq invading Iran killing a million people, then toppling Iraq and allowing Iran to expand its influence in the chaos, then supporting Saudi Arabia committing a genocide in Yemen to counter a Iranian proxy. And the way it dealt with Hamas and Fatah was allowing elections between them despite knowing Fatah had become corrupt and unpost, then when Fatah lost backing a civil war to try and get Fatah to overthrow Hamas, then later allowing Israel to purposefully fund Hamas to weaken the PLO and keep them split to avoid a peaceful settlement which has caused more internal polarization Israel.
  9. I have mixed feelings on trump winning. On one hand his antics are turning US allies away from us and risking our economy which could hurt me as a citizen, on the other I’m glad US hegemony gets weakened because it could make it less damaging in the future as its positioning to try and take on China. If the US neocons and deep state managed to do to Asia what it did to Latin America and the Middle East we are screwed. On one hand he’s said insane things about the Middle East and filled positions with war hawks which could lead to disaster. On the other hand he did force a ceasefire in Palestine, is pushing for one in Ukraine, and has hired some less hawkish people to prominent positions and signaled wanting to avoid a major war. I also think this could lead to democrats waking up and rebelling against the ineffective establishment of their party in the future.

  13. The ancient story is Jews were expelled but probably many stayed and intermarried and overtime became modern day Palestinians. When zionists first wanted to establish a homeland for Jews, the religious Jews preferred Africa. But they decided on Palestine because of the biblical connection to give it religious legitimacy. Now in Israel there is a movement that thinks they need to take over greater Israel and destroy Al aqsa mosque and rebuild the third temple to bring about the end times In the US there is a large evangelical population and because ancient Israel is mentioned in the Bible they think modern Israel will bring the end times.
  14. If you are allowed to just take land because 3000 years ago your ancestors loved there people would be fighting all over. The native Americans would be allowed to take over New York City. In addition modern genetic evidence shows Palestinians are related to the original inhabitants
  15. the UK itself colonized countries once, and at one time supported apartheid South Africa. When humans see untapped resources they can take or a population they can exploit they have a way of convincing themselves doing so is the right thing. It’s a bad cycle of israel having to collectively punish Palestinians to keep them expelled and subjugated to maintain a Jewish state, making Palestinians and surrounding countries radicalized and attack, making Israel feed into its victim complex and become more militarized and dehumanize the Palestinians more. They lobbied governments and media intensely so the older Gen grew up during a time where Israel’s crimes were hidden and it was portrayed as morally righteous and the victim. In the past you would get blacklisted for criticizing them. Now that changed thanks to alt-media as well as Israel becoming less appealing to liberal westerners as it became more right wing so the younger generation turns against them.
  16. - it’s not questionable, it’s normal for colonial movements - radical movements and racism - because of lobbying and silencing critics they get away with it
