I am now a junior in high school and have been doing personal development work for about 1.5 years. I have also been involved with highschool sports up to now. I would like a few extra opions from anyone willing to give some. Highschool sports, especially wrestling, take up to 2 hours everyday after school, and the majority of weekends (due to traveling for tournaments). The more I get into personal development, the more time I would to spend on it, and these sports are really taking up most of my extra time. Before I do pros and cons I would to say that I do workout regularly, outside of sports, in the morning. Also I am a lot more of a lone wolf because of my beliefs of non-duality and psychedelics are foreign to anyone I have talked to at my highschool.
Pros-
1. Social benefits (socializing outside of school).
2. Workout.
3. Building mental toughness.
4. Relieving pressure of friends and society saying that highschoolers need to do sports.
Cons-
1. Takes up time.
2. Could create permanent injuries later in life.
3. I won't be pursuing sports at a higher level.
4. Won't have much effect on me later in life.
