If you are talking about universities creating innovation its misrepresentation because only a few universities create innovation and those ones happen to be Harvard, Stanford, MIT, etc which are all heavily subsidized by the American government/ tax payers. People like Mark Zuckerberg came from famlies that paid for their education. Universities get free labor from the student's doing their masters and PhD in technology and medical science. The professor compiles the data they collect from the students and give the technology to pzifer, apple etc. In exchange the student when finishing school can get a good job and pay for their 400k student loan. The reason why America is the top dog in the world is because the US government have been waging war to monopolize energy and minerals that the entire world needs to build their own countries. Americans strong military and tremendous accumulation of resources has granted a very comfortable nation where the citizens have mental room to have an imagination. America is great because many have paid the/a price. From native Americans, black slaves, big oil, soldiers lives on every side and the list goes on. If anything the student loan scam is meant to stiffle competition because a person will have to stay in a job for years to pay it off rather than start their own business.

Education is grossly overpriced in America. In most developed, countries it's either much less or free. The more educated people you have in your population the stronger economically a nation becomes. Either complete forgiveness or partial is fair. The less a student owes the more they will spend on other things, like home for example. The universities make so much money elsewhere on students, like on medical and, engineering research. In fact we would not have the covid vaccines without research done by universities so regardless, money will be made off of the students indirectly.

Its hard to know what his intention is but the default of becoming an idol is the people that greatly admire them are cult-like. We see this happen in sports to a lesser degree, such as a figure like Michael Jordon. Thich Nhat Hanh, he was still, humble, really showed no signs of craving, lust, yearning, superiority complex. The outpouring of gratitude after his passing was inspiring and touching. Sure there are teachers that represent infinity and maybe more in touch with it but Thich's ability to exhibit human compassion gave people the warm fuzzy kind of feeling.

I was being sarcastic. I think we are at a time when we do not need to use animals to do our research at the velocity that we are using them, even if it cost us 5% of our population in a pandemic. Our technologies have increased infertility rates in our species so in that way we are paying our own tax. Covid 19 hasn't even killed 1% of our population and people are going crazy. This virus is meant to upgrade our DNA but we treat it like a threat just like everything else. Animals in nature take only what they need but we are the only ones that feel like we deserve more and more. Greed was a necessary aspect of our evolution but I think it's time we need to abandon greed and transcend to compassion and harmony.

Well, vaccines, medicine, equally abuse animals in the same way... the excuse is better them and us. We are doing it for the sake of humanity. Many people here support the use of vaccines but do not think of the cost it takes to save human lives or enhance it by way of different medications. Its difficult to be karma-free in the world we live in.

I prefer silence when doing anything including meditating. Music and sound distort the experience but for many it's useful to help them get into a state.

His critism has some points. In my job I meet a lot of people. There has been so many people that know of someone that have committed suicide. The rates from 2020 was an increase of 23%. 2021 hasn't been published yet. This virus has done more damage socially and politically and the longterm effects of all of this is going to really test us.

There is so many posts about Joe Rogan and too many emotional seizures. Stop giving him attention. This is exactly how Trump won. For the most part it's engrained in our culture from young to judge. Our parents do it, our schools do it. I'm aware I do it, such as when I see a fat person or a beautiful woman. My main point is for all of us to focus more on what we can do rather than what another person is doing or not doing.
