It's truth. But it's also all predetermined anyways. You have no choice in the matter. Even the outliers are predetermined too and everything in between. This should be liberating though and not paralyzing. Unfortunately, most get paralyzed by these real hard truths. Still, it's all about the experience and the fun and the chase, so what's there to lose to try since it's all a game?

TikTok would be fine if it adhered to the typical Western/US based app algorithms (money based, ad based, clicks, etc like Facebook, Twitter, IG, etc ) but it doesn't. It's a different beast of an algorithm all on it's own. It's like if you injected an algorithm with meth and let it run unmoderated--which is basically in layman terms what TikTok is. It's social media cranked up to 11. This is also done very insidiously along with triggering your dopamine with bite sized video content, scrolling, likes, notifications, etc. All completely designed to keep you on there. The latter isn't news to anybody since most people know what social media does to the brain (thanks to documentaries like Social Dilemma for example). The thing is, THIS social media app (TikTok) is extremely toxic. It's super obvious that this is the crux of the "problem" and why the US wants this app for themselves or to just nuke it off the US app store all together. TikTok BRAINWASHES. That's all it's about. Sure data being sent to China is a concern but that's easy to prove or monitor, this is what the courts were all about but that's surface level stuff. The US doesn't like TikTok's algorithm and what it's doing to people in this country. Adults, teens, young adults are all moving and acting different because of TikTok content. China knows this and does not use the same algorithm that is being used on Western countries on their own citizens through TikTok--they have their own 'tailored' algorithm there that's nothing like the Western version. Apps like IG, Youtube, Twitter, etc make it quite difficult to become famous or gather a large following in a short amount of time. It is by design. This is not about Facebook, IG, Twitter, etc not being able to compete with TikTok, so this is all done to be the winner LOL, no.. It's the algorithm. With TikTok, things go viral in hours and you could amass a massive following in days or weeks. A symptom of this, is EXACTLY how Andrew Tate came to be on the internet. He was always out there but he basically hijacked and rode the TikTok algorithm into gaining a massive following, a lot of money and notoriety. My question is: Say TikTok/Bytedance says OK, the US can buy our app/algorithm from us for a lot of money.. would that mean the US will implement this style of algorithm to US Western apps like Twitter, IG, Facebook, etc? Imagine how horrifying a TikTok based algorithm being injected into Twitter would be lmao.

I had a Vine account when it was at its peak popularity. It was amazing tbh, no ads, infinite scrolling and the vines were 6 seconds for the longest time. It was SUPER addicting I’ll admit though. Which is why when TikTok came out I refuse to download it. I’d be on that stupid thing all day and who knows what the content would’ve done to my brain. Those who had and browsed Vine many years ago will understand this.
