  1. High: historical awareness, support for the marginalized, equality, non-judgmental
  2. DOJ shutting down crypto fraud unit: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2025/04/08/cryptocurrency-fraud-unit-shut-down/82991750007/ Some good commentary by Coffee:
  3. You can do a 401k. That is investing and will get you matches from your employer, which can add up a lot. I think that's a realistic compromise for the majority people. It also encourages you to stabilize your income. Some jobs still offer pensions. If you're in the US you'll also collect Social Security, assuming it's not dismantled by Trump. Is it really more realistic to expect people to be savvy investors than to grow their income? An unexpected bill is what happens when all that inevitably fails. Here in the US we have millions of people with medical debt. You're almost as likely to end up with medical debt than not. Then there's also credit card debt, student loans, etc. What you're describing is not a serious strategy.
  4. Only if you don't need that money. The whole point is that if you're already struggling financially, you might need it. What happens if you get an unexpected bill? Maybe you personally will make it work, but I wouldn't consider that generally good advice for lower income people. Lower income people need to be protecting the money they have and working on growing their income, not investing in stocks. Otherwise you are putting the cart way before the horse. A 401k might also be relevant, depending on your goals.
  5. That seems backwards. If you don't have hundreds of thousands of dollars, you shouldn't be seriously investing in the first place. And if you are, then I would be extra cautious about holding during a crash, since it will tank everything you have. The people who can do a long hold and weather a crash are the ones with more money. They can afford to ride out the bump.
  6. Did you deliberately intend to become clairaudient?
  7. It was volatile but ended up not being too bad for US markets today. Both S&P and DJ down under 1%. Even Bitcoin is up right now. Of course Trump is doubling down on everything, so this is definitely not over.
  8. It feels like a big crash might be coming tomorrow. Strap in ya'll.
  9. Here you go: High: heart > head, ecology, high ego-development
  10. Game B in a nutshell. High: broad ego identification, systems thinking
  11. That's sounds like a great description of Žižek. But he's still wrong.
  12. @Emerald I apologize if I crossed a line. Guys, be careful of ganging up on her. That's not what this should turn into.
  13. Such a woman response
  14. I still kind of am. It just needs to be balanced. It's a nuanced issue. In the past, men have made mistakes both being too authoritarian and being too egalitarian. I'm interested in helping guys to correct both of those.
  15. That is NOT the case for my past partners. The more we had an egalitarian dynamic, the less likely we were to have that sub/dom relationship. It's the ownership that creates the safety and polarity, not lack of ownership. How much I feel the need to govern her behavior usually just naturally adapts to how mature she is. If she's very responsible and capable, I feel the need to do less. If she's not, I feel the need to do more. IRL it's not nearly as authoritarian as it might sound . Respecting her sovereignty is part of positive ownership. Being a slave owner is not my thing.
  16. There's surely some difference. You probably don't need to tell her not to put her finger in an electric socket. But also, those lines may not be so distinct at times. Women literally call men "daddy" in bed.
  17. What you're missing is that men who are more masculine want to be depended on. Much more so than depending on her. This is an actual need, not dysfunction.
  18. This. Don't talk about it, just do it. They'll appreciate it whether they understand what's happening not.
  19. Keep in mind Sowell is a darling of conservatism, NOT a lefty:
  20. Can you explain more about what you've learned regarding the biology? Or perhaps point in the direction of specific resources to learn?
  21. Not only will you experience pain, you must walk into the pain over and over again.
  22. @Santiago Ram what religion are you? I had some fear of blasphemy as well. The key for me was to deconstruct my religion so thoroughly that blasphemy became impossible. It’s like seeing through a magic trick. Once you see through it, you can’t seriously still believe it. You may just have to bunch through the wall here. Question the whole thing to death.
  23. This is a longer one but I think worth it. Low: argumentation, debate, bluster, being opinionated, conspiracy, lack of education
