@Zen LaCroix Works great for crunches but people downplay the side effects IMO, especially with regular use. Even at low doses, the day after taking (ar)modafinil my head feels just empty and I struggle to form intelligent thoughts. Also has lowkey addiction potential, as it makes getting things done so much easier. Regular use (2x a week at 50mg) kinda makes me depressed. If you decide to do it, I'd say take a 2-week break in between and don't become reliant on it.

Sleep 7-8 Hours of uninterrupted sleep, with no screens at least 1h before going to sleep, preferably waking up at the same time every day Fitness Hit the Gym or do any other physically demanding activity for 30mins 3x a week, and try to get some sunlight by taking short walks as breaks most days. Common sense nutrition is also of big value. Don't have giant meals before working or your brain won't work, eat your fruits and veggies, limit sugar, etc. etc. Love This might seem like a weird one, but make sure to not become emotionally closed off. Make some time for friends, family, or and people you love. Open up, have things to look forward to, and make time for things you enjoy. You won't be able to do a 7-month sprint, make it enjoyable. Meditation Take some time off every day to let your mind calm down and focus on your surroundings. Doesn't have to be anything crazy, 2-10 Mins is fine. Supplements Preferably get some bloodwork done before you give your body things you don't need. Supplements will have the smallest effect of all the things I mentioned here. Fish/Krill/Algae oil (If you aren't eating a lot of fish) Vitamin D3+K2 L-Theanine Possibly various Vitamin B's if you are lacking them in your diet Kreatin There are dozens more but honestly, the effects of those I already mentioned are super subtle and you'd be much better advised, to work on other fronts than supplements. Everything that will have strong noticeable effects (caffeine, modafinil, etc) will also have noticeable side effects and are ultimately not sustainable. Finally, I'd advise you to create a routine that works for you with breaks and studying clearly separated.

Right-wing propaganda.

Assuming you want to hit legs 2x each week, alternate between those two workouts:
-
Doesn't seem necessary atm. Wouldn't really hurt either though.

To be fair, they have to be. Most people are idiots. If the average dude on the street resonates with a university professor, the university professor must be quite the idiot. If people like JBP, Lex Friedman, Joe Rogan, Andrew Tate, etc. would share deep Wisdom, most people wouldn't care and thus those public intellectuals wouldn't be popular.

By "work" in this case, I mean doing whatever it takes to achieve your goal. If you've tried something and it didn't work, you try something else. You educate yourself, identify the problems you've encountered in the past, tweak your approach, and build habits. Are you having trouble eating? Find solutions to that problem. Do you have a hard time being consistent? Find solutions for that, too. All of this can be emotionally and physically difficult, but when you say, "I've tried everything," it seems like you are shielding yourself from these difficulties. Again, if gaining weight/muscle isn't a priority for you, that's totally fine, but be careful about the story you tell yourself, you might actually believe it.
-
@Twentyfirst respectfully, that just sounds like a bs excuse you are telling yourself to not do the work. If you are not willing to do the work, that's cool but don't lie to yourself.

You track your calories via myfitnesspal or any similar app and eat ~500 calories above your baseline consistently over weeks, preferably while doing weight training. If that doesn't work, further increase your caloric intake. Should I give you my Paypal now or?

Surely it is impossible to be THIS unaware

She's not gonna let you smash bro, you can stop. There could be a person in congress advocating for the murder of innocent children and some of you would be like: "Bro, come on, why are you criticizing this person, they are clearly stage red, come on bro u need to understand them." People are criticizing Sinema because her position changed from what she ran on. That's a good thing. We want people to criticize politicians if they do dumb shit. We all understand that she is not a Marxist, people just expect that she does what she promised. This is not a strawman, this is not demonization nor is that projection.

As far as I know, Hitler was an infant when his older brother died, I doubt that had any significant effect on him. The Nazi party didn't exist back then. He joined the DAP.

@AtheisticNonduality No, it's monkey brain to ascribe Leo's weak political analysis to being Tier 2. Instead of engaging with the issue and thinking about it independently, he jumps to the conclusion that this is just another example of progressives being unable to see that not everyone is as progressive as them. This is just silly and if you think that this is a holistic approach to politics, you are being silly.
-
Couldn't agree more. If you have criticisms voice them. "person I agree with good colour person I disagree with bad colour" is just so monkey brained. Not really. Hitler lied to everyone he could to achieve his goals. To the workers, he presented himself as a man of the people and used socialist talking points yet behind their backs he snuggled up with the bourgeoisie and promised that there would be no radical economic reform. In the end, he lied to both. A Traitor in my book. @Danioover9000 However, there are many degrees to being a traitor. It's silly to use the most extreme examples as if that would free someone from their guilt for doing minor traitorous acts.
-
@Leo Gura No, that's not the point. While she has shown a left-liberal voting record in the Arizona Legislature, she moved increasingly to the right in the House of Representatives. That sounds either like deliberate deception to gather votes or a 'genuine' value shift. Either way, it fits my definition of a traitor.

Less "bully teaching". There were several times when I just turned off an episode because I didn't feel like listening to a guy raging about random bs and degrading his listeners highlight more high-quality posts and debates, all these no fap, Andrew Tate, incel controversial threads get way too much attention Book club - I can imagine it could be fun if mods would organize a book club where a book gets intensely discussed on here.. just an idea idk If enough people would be willing to participate less arrogance, it makes you less credible Shorter, better-structured content. A good idea gets lost in 3 hours of examples and stories imo
-
Im convinced. The U.S. is an invention of the European elites to make the plebs feel better about themselves.
-
They didn't "take over", the SPD got voted in and calling them socialists is a bit of a stretch imo. The rise of the Nazi party and consequently WWII had many reasons: inflation, dislike of democracy, extreme reparations, economic struggles, carrying all the blame for WW1 etc. etc. The idea that it was because the Government was "socialist" is completely unsubstantiated.
-
The way Leo takes on the status quo of American politics and explains how it is almost impossible to change while developing nations have solved the same issues America is facing is honestly hilarious. Blaming the left for right-wing idiocy is extremely myopic. The American left is a joke and yet America's right-wing movement is completely bonkers.

Be realistic but still make it a challenge. Look at your past, what have you achieved realistically before => make it a bit more difficult If you think you can achieve a goal realistically and comfortably in 10 days => set your deadline at 8 days Once you have decided on a deadline, stick to it, make it real, and write it down somewhere where you see it daily. I'd set deadlines anywhere up to 3 months, above that it gets too abstract imo
-
1. Write a list of things you want to achieve 2. Order the list by priority 3. Select the Top 3 things you want to achieve and create clear daily Habits and action steps that will help you achieve your goal. example: I want to get fit I need to fix my Diet Research Healthy foods and meals that I like Buy those groceries Do Meal Prep I need to workout Get A Gym Membership Find a Workout Plan Work out 3 times a week 4. Download a Todo list App (Todoist is great - Make sure to pin it as a widget to your home screen) or write your action steps in your calendar 5. Follow through and don't give up. If you don't give up, you'll succeed no matter what General points: Have a specific time period when you do your "distracting" activities, don't mix it with the time period when you have to do your work. Set a Timer when doing Tasks you feel resistant to. "I'll spend 30 mins replying to customer E-mails" or "I'll spend 30 mins doing my math homework", sometimes it's better to just spend time on the task than worry about completion. Put your phone away and close tabs that you don't need. Notice where you get distracted and minimize that risk. Notice your distraction patterns and cut them off. Start with small and easy tasks. Start ridiculously easy if necessary: I'll read 1 Page every day. => still better than nothing and helps you build the habit. It's best to do the work first. Check things off your to-do list as soon as you wake up and brushed your teeth or as soon as you come home from work. Leisure time comes after that. Set Clear goals and deadlines. => I want to lose 5kg by the 1st of Dec.

Brother, I said billionaires should pay their fair share of taxes and pay their workers and you counter that with "They had systems like that in the USSR and DPRK" ? Come on.

I rather have an imperfect left in power than a demonic right. That's why I care about winning. Understanding has its importance, but not at the cost of letting Psychos rule the world. I'd worry about that when we get close to actually having a fair society. It doesn't seem like, the U.S for example. is anywhere near that. Who gets to decide what is fair? Society, Politicians, etc. fairness is a fluid concept that shifts and changes with society. "Who gets to decide" implies that there is no perfect answer. Correct, there isn't. But there are certainly societies that have created greater equality and "fairness" than others. We don't need perfect answers, we just need better ones. There's no need to have the perfect ultimate answers right now. The fact of the matter is, workers get exploited and a few people at the top own more than small nation-states. I will worry about Jeff being treated unfairly once his workers get compensated for their work and once he pays his fair share of taxes. I'd hope people would agree with me because they share my radical far-left values of humanity and fair compensation.
