  1. Read up on and try taking CLA supplements...
  2. This may sound weird, but to me when I have spent a day or more alone at one location just sitting around, I have used it as a sort of training to understand solitary confinement-level experience. . Experience of being secluded and in a limited space of solitary confinement. What does one gain from such a limited amount of space and movement? ...and being so aware of your own thoughts? imagine truely being in a prison.....and being isolated, and I say to myself, hanh, I wouldn't want life to actually do that "solitaire confinement" experience to me, to learn some life lesson of how to be mindful or simplify to stay more consciously in the here and now moment, I wouldn't want life to force that on me, so I try to understand and feel the experience willingly. What value can I get from this isolation. I guess it could be inline with living in the wilderness alone in some cabin.....Remember the tv show grizzly Adams? I just pictured that. I don't know, I think alone all day at home may be a mini mini experience of solitary confinement and could be valuable as our intelligence as humans evolves.
  3. I highly recommend using the Allen Carr Easy-way method to help with your overeating. I am sure there is a book in the Allen Carr easy-way book collection that addresses this issue specifically.
  4. I'm afraid to admit, I think I did that back in 1999... Now I'm trapped here instead of wherever I once was. Ha great topic! i came up with an idea, (for myself and my own theories of human evolution) of sort of a cyberspace mausoleum. So you could have your soul floating in the static of space and inject it into your clone (as you refer to it) once you transport. i think we bring memories and conciousness...
  5. Red wine..? i remember, in one of Leo's , video reports. Something..like...he said, with regard to smoking, either cigarettes, or weed.... Something, " like...." Stop that right away....or cut that out...." Hanh......as if it is that easy to quit cigs or weed.., but I like the way Leo does say it, like it shouldn't even be an issue or stumbling block in the first place, so "cut that out"... Yeah, obviously, start on level ground at least.... And then grasp the reins, so to speak, on your life...
  6. Yes. Whatever... Not fun. i would not want to be with them again..realistically, but, ....I like to think my soul mate just wore their "suit" and I will still be with my soul mate, I just gotta find them in the next "suit" they are in.... ...yeah it's hard getting over missing the last "suit" they were in...but know the next one will be better... Trust them and yourself.. work on your attachment issues.. let go...and something better will arrive in your life...
  7. No. I am 45. I have lived enough.... observing myself and my friends....I have had a male friend, 100% plutonic, since 1st grade. I do not feel men and women can have a true friendship. In a brief response, basically, there is always some subtle "thing", that makes it not good enough...(maybe male ego). I dont know...
  8. Asparagus French fries... I never heard of anyone else doing this, so I thought it was my own invention... I fry some skinny asparagus in olive oile with fresh garlic minced and I cook it on low to medium for about an hour charring it a bit. Yum, healthy and a great filling meal if u make enough.... I also get supreme local asparagus in the summer... what a healthy treat
  9. I'm not sure why this post has inspired me but it has. I haven't meditated on a regular basis since last summer. I fell off my pattern. Anyway, this post, for some reason, has me back on board. I only do things that I truly enjoy and want to do, so I don't force things like meditation.. I wasn't feeling it for awhile but I have been inspired by this post. My guess is the picture of a chimp has inspired me.? this post also reminded me of a book I read many years ago, "it's here now, are you?" By bhagavan das. In the book he made reference to a "strait strait strait back..." I never forgot that, and his book and that reference is in my mind occasionally when I meditate... I plan to resume my "first thing in the am meditation" tmrw! I'm back to being my better self!
  10. Jimi Hendrix, http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xayu6r_the-jimi-hendrix-experience-axis-bo_music Worth listening really I tried to find the studio version, this was the only one I found to share. ?
  11. Any amount you do is good, but I have found that if I practice at home I usually only go for about 10, 20 or 30 minutes. When I go to a yoga class it is one hour to 1 1/2 hrs long. The longer amount dong yoga is just better. I dont like to push myself at home... so for me, personally, being out at a class with others and a teacher is more influential and more beneficial..
  12. A number of years ago, I started feeling nervous, or a little fearful for my safety as I would drive to my job on a highway for about 20/25 minutes every morning and afternoon.. I just remember feeling like I was traveling so fast and that it was really dangerous compared to the calmer feeling of walking or riding a bike. Anyway, I started playing some Louise hay affirmations everyday, I think the disc was called overcoming fears, I forget. Anyway, I noticed the feelings I had of nervousness or being afraid, totally changing over about month and I kept it up for another month or 2 and the fear sensation dissipated. On rare occasion, I will replay the disc to refresh my strength of not feeling fearful...but it has been years now and it's like I was repaired with the affirmations... I believe this is helpful for many people if taken seriously.
  13. I agree with the increase meditation time, but if you don't want to spend , let's say, 3 hours meditating...I recommend a mindful walking mediation walk/hike....Preferably in the woods on a nice nature trail or near a river, also a nice, city-scene, mindful walk is also treat... This is never a waste of time because you are feeding your soul, and breathing the outdoor air.
  14. I think drinking kombucha everyday has helped me. I think it takes away sugar craving, and it really is low sugar.. There are many more benefits too.
  15. I have felt that type of joy with a simple cup of coffee before myself. I actually think it is mindfulness, when we are fully aware and mindful, we really experience it more intensely and feel more gratitude and appreciation. I love coffee and tea equally. I had a perfectly brewed yunan gold tea today and it was supreme. (Actually called, panyang golden needles black tea)
  16. I hope my condensed story will be helpful for someone. Im 45, no kids, never married. I love it, I'm psyched everyday! I feel like I hit the life lottery, although I know people look at my life and feel bad for me, not knowing how great this is! So I was with a guy from age 17-22, (NYU film school guy), first boyfriend , he was the first of 6 serious relationships and lived together with 4 of them but they were all long term everyday together relationships. So most were my same age, but 2 olders(over 10 yrs) and one younger(by 16 years...). All this but I never wanted to "lock in" to one guy for life.. I haven't ever sincerely wanted kids, (I have a cool cat though and he can fetch), although in my 20s I think I might have been able to be talked into having kids, it would have been for him not for me. In my 30s I remember feeling like Houdini when all my friends kept falling into this almost cult like movement toward babies and especially getting married. I did not want that. I'm happy for other people for their kids and marriages... but I feel like my life path is fun everyday and I am joyful and grateful every moment. I'm not a selfish person, I work hard, full time at a non profit, among other volunteer stuff outside of my day job.. but I do like my life to be all about me... Yippee, it's Friday and I am going to get good rest this weekend, and do whatever I want everyday! (For example, I have a nice long mountain hike every Sunday (rain or shine) and often a massage later in the day) I could keep writing but in a nutshell, This is a great route to take in life. It is a place of strength too. If you live to be very old (which I want) likely you will see for yourself, and you may wish you could have experienced this in your younger years.. ?

  18. This question is fun to answer when you are in your 20s or 30s.. I don't want to sound ungrateful.. I love myself, my life and my age. Although, I feel I am like between 28-32., and for many years I felt 18, then I felt 22 for many many years and now, like I said, 28-32. I seem to have some hang up about age.. I'm 45 (so in high school I took typing class on a typewriter, we didn't have computers, not even those word processor things that were out in the late 80s..., and we didn't have cell phones...10c phone calls in phone booths.....and it was a big deal when we first got answering machines, with cassette tapes in them, yeah, and vhs tape machines were incredible, there were no CDs.... So most importantly if I was interested in some random topic for example, yoga or Freud,. I planned out a day or time and went to the local library, and looked up my topic in the card catalog (basic paper 3x5 card things in long drawers that would direct me to the correct area in the library...no internet, no forums...)
  19. Maybe, it's a video game, and you're behind the scenes in a future life playing a video game called something like, EarthWorld 3D Adventure--Experience feelings emotions, pain, hunger, pleasure and more..see how long you can stay in the game(and tap into what it was like to "feel") Huh.
  20. @Philip ..I guess, evolution/ intelligence.. Maybe instinct vs. intelligence.. "Nature, to be commanded, must be obeyed". Francis Bacon
  21. I just randomly click on stuff. Most everything is interesting to me! Start reading something and if it resonates with you keep skimming around and reading and if you feel sincere motivation, make a comment.. if you're not drawn into something randomly skip to another topic or take a break.. It is beneficial to read different categories.
  22. Can man control nature? Ironically, it is a question as old as time.
  23. Wow! Same as above, mans search for meaning by victor e frankl. I used it as a tool to get through tough times in the past. I love the whole paragraph, but specifically the part where he writes ...."I understood how a man who has nothing left in this world, still may know bliss, be it only for a brief moment, in the contemplation if his beloved. In a position of utter desolation, when man cannot express himself in positive action, when his only achievement may consist in enduring his sufferings in the right way- and honorable way- in such a position a man can, through loving contemplation of the image he carries of his beloved, achieve fulfillment......."
  24. How not to be a victim... Benefits of meditation.... Why women fall for assholes... and sooo many more. As soon as I start to remember one, several more come back into mind.. all great.. ones that have resonated with me
