So the argument goes “we need to crack down on illegal immigration because everyone coming over is a violent drug-dealing rapist.” That’s the basis of the logic for what’s happening. The problem is, this isn’t true. Countless impartial studies have found that migrant communities commit less crime than native-born ones, but this would never be accepted by those supporting mass deportations because their worldview won’t allow it. And the reason this is is due to psychological projection. White America as a whole is a lot less “civil”, “law-abiding” and “professional” as it would have you believe. There is a deep-seated pathological cultural of betrayal, corruption, egotism and outright criminal activity within white society it hasnt yet grappled with. This is most patently evident in the fact that their arch-messiah Donald Trump is quite literally a criminal conman who uses mob tactics and violent intimidation to maintain power. I am of course not saying that individual migrants can’t be involved in crime, and obviously any crime doer should be punished, but that’s not the point I’m trying to make here. What I’m saying is that everything White America fears about migrants / brown people / black people etc is at its core a terrified reflection of itself. I don’t know what went wrong and frankly I don’t care to find out, but somewhere along the way White America as a whole (not individual white people mind you) lost its way and turned to greed, hatred and envy instead of decency, justice and humanity. If you’re a white person reading this, I would strongly urge you to find your sense of common humanity, love and tolerance in these trying times, in whatever way you can think of. If you’re truly committed to peace, growth, human flourishing and consciousness, it only makes sense that you look to see the best in others and don’t become blind to the wrongdoings committed by people of your own race. America, to me, was founded upon the principle that all people - white, black, Hispanic, man, woman, gay, straight - were endowed with inalienable rights that could never be removed through tyranny. If you truly believe in America, wouldn’t you believe in this? It only makes sense as your duty as a patriotic American to uphold those ideals. What else do you think America stands for? Money? Brad Pitt? Diet Coke? That’s not America, you can have those anywhere. What makes America unique from all other countries? You tell me.

No no don’t you get it? A handful of tattooed protestors this past week have held far more systemic economic, cultural, financial and political power over the nation than the entire federal GOP apparatus has for the past 30+ years. Won’t SOMEBODY spare those poor, fragile Republicans from doing their job?? -

Let’s not forget that all of this has been caused so Trump can declare martial law and deflect from the Epstein allegations too. -

Republican immigration MO: - Refuse to pass whatever migration reforms the Democrats propose - Make it harder for migrants to get citizenship so ethnic enclaves develop - Refuse to provide sane law enforcement bills to enforce deportations for the worst offenders (and never target white business owners while you’re at it) - Do this for decades while the problems get worse - Finally decide you’re just going to break the constitution to “fix” the problem you created, all the while blaming Democrats - Destroy civil society in the process - ???? - Profit! -

To which I’d say the level of chaos is severely overblown and the idea that all of Los Angeles is burning is literally a right-wing talking point. You can find videos of protestors telling looters to gtfo of shops because it makes them look bad. The issue here isn’t whether a few cars have been burnt or not, it’s whether the Trump administration has the legal power to unilaterally deport people without due process and deploy the military (which it doesn’t BTW.) That’s the only important message here. EDIT: What about all the white, black, Asian, etc protestors? Why do right-wingers act like everyone sticking up for justice has been shipped straight out of Juarez by some cartel or something? What about all the legal Hispanic citizens protesting the very real fear their communities are facing? Do they not exist? -

Does that really matter? This is Hollywood-tier politics. Politics shouldn’t be about who makes the best jokes. It should be about who has the best policies and most reasonable vision for the future. -

Yep. Immigration has never been the issue. Someone in another thread even posted something about how many times Democrats tried to pass meaningful immigration reform (allowing it both easier to migrate whilst also giving the border forces more power), but Republicans opposed them every time because they weren’t Gestapo enough for their tastes (paradoxically making it both harder to integrate AND easier to illegally migrate due to lack of sensible border enforcement.) Maybe it is just a case of change being inevitable, and people not being able to accept it. America’s cultural demographics were always going to shift over time, the only question was whether it was going to be done sensibly in a way that benefits all people (including white Americans), or if it was going to be done violently and in way that tears everyone down. America had multiple chances to take the sane option but they chose the jackboot instead 🤷🏽♂️ EDIT: Now that I think about it, the Biden administration was the last chance for white America to create a positive vision of the future that it ultimately rejected. Biden was a white guy yes, but his VP was black, but more importantly his policies were sane, sensible, well-funded and benefitted everyone, white and non-white alike. He invested in infrastructure, education, made healthcare more affordable, and so on. He was progressive but not an irrational wokist, and had a strong religious sensibility about him so even believers could’ve felt assured under him. He was firm on the international stage but wasn’t cruel. Americans didn’t know how good they had it under Biden. In 10 years time they’ll be sorry that they chose Little Donny over him -

I mean, America’s empire could’ve lasted longer if it did things like meaningful immigration reform (allowing people to culturally and economically integrate), invested in its own population (through education, infrastructure and healthcare) and taking a more hardline approach to corporate greed and lobbying (allowing it to retain the civil institutions needed to combat cultural decay.) Hell, I would even argue on a purely trade-based level prior to Trump America was doing just fine. In fact in general America has been in a fucking fantastic economic position for decades, it’s just that that wealth hasnt been distributed justly. The problem simply came from arrogance, narcissism and even a hint of collective delusion. Obama being elected president was the logical conclusion to America’s promise of freedom and democracy, but too many people couldn’t accept this. Kamala again wouldve been another fantastic president (maybe not world-shattering but certainly effective enough for the needs of the people), but again collective narcissism and delusion got in the way. I mean, if I’m being honest, America’s position on the world stage was so utterly assured prior to Trump that it could’ve effectively remained the world hegemon indefinitely. There was absolutely no need for any of this to happen, had America just made a few key policy reforms (healthcare, ending Citizen’s United, immigration reform). But they didn’t make those reforms, and now it’s too late I guess, lol. What comes next is anyone’s guess. China will probably cement itself as a world leader, though probably not uncontested superpower. America will either continue to struggle or get its shit together and finally move out of toxic Orange. Whatever the case, it’s the American’s themselves who made this bed, so it’s up to them to sleep in it. -

@Husseinisdoingfine The difference between Russia/Belarus and America/Mexico is that the economic and power imbalance between the two is much smaller. I understand Belarus used to be part of the USSR, but I can’t imagine Russia exploited it as deeply as America did to Mexico over the centuries. Just think about something like NAFTA. Half of all cars in America are made in Mexico due to NAFTA, and it’s the reason Americans pay $20,000 for a compact instead of $60,000. Again, this makes your average American much more wealthy than they would be otherwise. The problem is, the only reason these cars from Mexico aes so cheap is that Mexico lacks the safety standards, high wages, social services etc of America, allowing them to be made much cheaper. As I’ve said I wouldn’t go so far as to say all trade is exploitative, but it certainly can lean in that direction when America has so much leverage out of Mexico to get what it wants. So Mexico, through its cheap labour, it’s providing immeasurable wealth to America, but when Mexicans want to enjoy some of that wealth too, they’re told to “go home.” Again, my problem isn’t with the idea of border enforcement in general, my problem is with the absurd power differential America has over the rest of the world that it refuses to acknowledge. If America was just some generic bumfuck middle income economy complaining about mass migration, I would see the argument a bit more. But it’s not. It’s the wealthiest civilisation in human history, by an almost absurd degree. That wealth comes from somewhere, but America refuses to acknowledge this. -

I agree. But what MAGA misses is that the only reason they’re losing this influence is because of their own actions / power. America has used its vast financial and military apparatus to enrich itself at the expense of others. Of course, this is a slight exaggeration, and not all trade is bad, but on the whole they’ve benefitted far more from their powerful international setup than they’ve lost. MAGA doesn’t realise that the only reason it’s the most powerful country on Earth is because it has the military, diplomats, corporations and cultural influence to cajole other countries into giving them the most favourable trade terms available. This means things like getting African minerals, Brazilian fruit, and European white goods for pennies on the dollar that may have been more economically beneficial to those countries had America paid full price. But again, because of America’s immense leverage, they were willing to make these deals with America for a whole number of reasons. So all the wealth of the world flows into America (rather than staying in those local countries), making Americans some of the richest, most luxurious people on earth. But when some of the people from those countries want to move to America to enjoy some of the prosperity America gets from them - suddenly it’s a bridge too far. Suddenly it’s an “invasion.” An “insurrection.” It’s “white genocide” or a “great replacement.” MAGA wants to keep all the spoils of the world, without caring about the communities those spoils come from. If America wanted to prevent huge demographic shift, it would've allocated like 20% of its budget to foreign development (instead of military research pope dreams or corporate subsidies), but it didn’t do that. It would’ve helped Mexico, the Caribbean, the Congo, Portugal, the Philippines etc get on their feet, as a small gesture of gratitude for helping make them rich. But again, they didn’t do that. All they did was build more vanity projects and useless financial speculation instead, leaving not only other nations but their own citizens poorer instead. And now when economics is balancing itself and people from those poor countries that made America rich are now coming to America itself, it’s a bridge too far. I’ve rambled a lot lately so I think I’ll just leave it at that, but you get my point. Wealth doesn’t exist in a vacuum. If you’re wealthy, great! But don’t forget where that wealth comes from. Otherwise the people who made you rich will come knocking on your door asking for food and shelter, and you’ll be too stupid to understand why. -

The thing is though she’s not even from another culture. Kamala is American through and through. I mean, she was even a state prosecutor, how much more American can you get? The problem was too many voters refused to see this. They say an American-born politician with unequivocal loyalty to the US as being an “other”, when she clearly wasnt. She had plans to improve their lives, help the economy, and crack down on corporate greed, but they were too blinded by racism and selfishness that they voted for the rapist conman instead. Americans have never just been white, but white Americans have refused to see this. And now because of this they’ve unleashed a monster who’s ruining the Republic that gave them rights in the first place. It’s probably the biggest self-own in history. -

@kbone Bingo. It’s just Republican white supremacy all the way down. They made legal immigration too hard for people wanting to share in some of the wealth America gets from the world, and now they’re paying the price. -

So, for those wanting to know why I find the idea of America enforcing its borders at the point of a gun so abhorrent, I’ll explain. Take this with a grain of salt because this is just my unfalsifiable intuition, but basically I strongly believe the last election was something of a nation-wide spiritual test for America to see if it could choose truth over lies, and ultimately it chose lies. America, had it been a sane and grounded entity, could’ve voted for the black lady promising housing rebates, loan forgiveness and corporate crackdowns, but instead it unironically chose pedophilia, oligarchal dominance and nightmarish security state overreach. It had one last chance to prove to the universe that it as a sovereign entity had legitimacy for its own existence, but ultimately it failed that chance spectacularly. I mean, if it were being utterly, absolutely honest with itself, it would admit that it voted for Trump again just because it didn’t want another “n***** running the White House”, but of course it will delude itself into thinking it voted against “Cultural Marxism, communism, Islamism” and whatever other buzzword bullshit it uses to justify its hate. Again, these are just my own personal intuitions and ramblings. Feel free to call me some misguided leftist all you want, I don’t care. But I truly believe the American state has in some sense lost all claims to moral and cultural legitimacy, and will now wrestle with that moving forward. You might not like to hear this, but that culture is now effectively moving into a “post-America” era. What the US once thought of itself was is now dead and buried, murdered in November 2024 and now making way for something else to be born. What this means, in practice, is that white people will now have to get used to black and brown people being as fundamentally American as they are, from now until the rest of time. That means black CEOs, black presidents, brown senators, brown military generals, and so on. Of course, a lot of white Americans will hate this, but so what? Like I said they had their chance to maintain some cultural legitimacy in 2024, but they blew it. White supremacy is dead and the multi-racial civilisation is now the future. -

Just because your average dipshit Trump voter complaining about Spanish on government forms doesn’t understand how he benefits from a worldwide system of extraction and oppression, doesn’t mean he’s immune to the consequences of that system when they come back to bite him in the ass. Just as @BlueOak points out, America had ample time to level the playing field, to use some of the massive wealth it got from other nations to re-invest in those nations and make a more stable world, but it didn’t. Instead it chose fascism, ethno-nationalism and even more corporate greed instead. I keep saying this but nature abhors an imbalance. America can only exploit other nations for so long before some of those nations want a piece of the pie. If it doesn’t want foreigners coming to its borders, it should invest in those countries instead, not shut them down and threaten to bomb them. You can’t have both, and trying to do so will cause you to lose your mind. EDIT: Empire-building is a trade-off. You sacrifice either wealth, or global influence, or cultural homogeneity depending on your goals, but you can’t have all three. America is trying to have all three, and it’s losing the plot as a result. America is like if Italians in the Roman Empire were complaining about all the Egyptians and Galls moving to Rome. Pure geopolitical blindness and economic insanity. -

White America has become a parasitic entity on the planet. It’s refusal to deal with its history of slavery, oppression and death whilst maintaining its innounce has led it to some of the worst case of collective psychosis since WW2. Chucklefucks like Stephen Miller think White America is entitled to the world’s resources while giving nothing in return. It’s one thing to talk about regular human nationalism, it’s another to defend some of the most brazen forms of hypocrisy on the planet. White America uses the threat of nuclear annihilation to do what it wants with impunity on the world scale. You keep talking about power Leo, do you not understand how many times white nationalists in the White House have fantasised about nuking the Middle East or Mexico or wherever? White America have become a bunch of gutless, chickenshit cowards who think they can hide behind their bombs and absurd levels of wealth to do whatever the fuck they want, consequences be damned. Unfortunately for them, reality doesn’t work that way. EDIT: If you want to understand the deep pathology of White America, listen to this song:
