I think it is not accurate to say personal responsibility is understood and that is why it is not mentioned in leftists political thought. Look at leftist political organizations. The protestors, organizers etc clearly have a blue shadow, which explains the tolerance and condolence of looting and rioting behavior. This only becomes an issue after you transition into blue, at red there would be no reason to value community property, etc Take black america as an example. The community is struggling with the transition from red to blue. Stage blue is where values like personal responsibility, accountability, family structures etc are valued, and these are the values that are deficient in black america right now imo. I am not denying the importance of structural change, I would argue for both. I just want an honest conversation about the topic, that includes discussing all facets. There is a collective backlash against stage blues values on the left, and on the forum tbh, and that is why I believe values like personal responsibility are downplayed, because there is an automatic association between blue and low consciousness. If you were to give an analysis saying that black america is suffering from the toxic elements of red, and a struggle to transition to blue, i'd argue most leftists would argue that you are being racist and judging black people negatively. "What do you mean they are stage red, that is so racist, are you saying they are inherently stage red!". Yeah I never denied both elements exist. I'm arguing only one side is being discussed, and as a result you are only dealing with 1 side of an equation when trying to solve the issue that requires the other side. Can you explain to me how black america is in a pool of lava? The jews were in a pool of lava in the holocaust. To say black america is in an analogous situation to a situation like the Jews in Nazi Germany is not accurate imo. But this is how the issue is framed by leftist groups like BLM. They would rather blame an amorphous structure like the government and white supremacy, rather than deal with the nitty gritty reality of what is really going in their communities. -

@Salvijus I found the thread about Reiki haha. This quote stands out. It's not so black and white to say if I'm happy or not. I sleep well, I go to sleep at 9.30pm and wake up 5.30. didn't have a problems falling asleep for like 7months. That's a good, tangible criteria to tell my state of mind. Anyways. Best way to sense how I feel is by yourself by reading my posts. You can feel by reading them and you will make a better impression of it then if I give you my own biased opinion. But I would not trust your own judgement particulary because you like reiki, nootropics, book yoga, psychedelics. You probably also think that devotion is cult like behavior and volunteering is slavery. That already shows that your judgement in life is very superficial and bad. This is "being a spiritual fool starter pack". And btw there's not a single deeply happy person here on this forum. This forum is too low for such people. This forum is toxicity. A happy wise person would stay away from this forum as far away as he could. Only low compulsive arrogant toxic people come here. Including me. I have a compulsion to talk here. I still need to work on myself a lot. Which I do. On 1/23/2020 at 11:11 PM, Raptorsin7 said: I don't listen to anyone on here who isn't at least incredibly happy and feels love and joy in virtually all moments of their life. That is a good rule. You should not listen to me. But what I say is totally based and in line with what sadhguru says. He's happy. Listen to him. Don't listen to the forum memebers. You'll get wasted away in ignorance.

I would say for the current state of black america for example, that the focus needs to be changed from blaming white supremacy, the system etc. To a focus on personal responsibility and empowerment. How can you change the culture that reinforces single motherhood and criminal behavior? I want these questions to at least be addressed and dealt with in a meaningful way by people on the left like Vaush, I would agree they are interdependent. But only one side of the equation is discussed in online leftist political thought. When you point out something like black on black violence, or the dramatic single motherhood rates, there is a label placed on you and the discussion gets shut down before it begins. Can you show me where a leftist thinker seriously addresses the issue of black woman having multiple children by multiple men, and then rejecting male influence because the government can provide sufficient resources to raise the children. Which leads to men raised by only woman, which then contributes heavily to the dysfunctional culture of black america -

I am not disagreeing with this. My point is that we are not at a position where disenfranchised groups are in the midst of a holocaust. I agree that we need a comprehensive solution. My point is that the modern left does not have one. -

I am not saying that the society doesn't play a role and influences in the individual. I am saying there is a leftist blindspot against personal responsibility and the role of the individual in shaping the outcomes you observe. I am arguing for a more inclusive and holistic perspective that is not limited in its parts by a simple left and right dichotomy. I am biased toward the truth -
Go speak to another eye doctor and compare their perspectives. Learn about if other people have cured myopia and astigmatism and do what they do. It seems unusual that an eye doctor would tell you not to work out, but I don't understand your situation.

Yes. But the point was that just increasing funding to schools will not necessarily lead to better results, because the individual is the most important factor in the equation. That is part of the equation yes. But you have to start with the people. A neighborhood is a collection of individuals. It starts and ends with dealing with individuals, and their own thoughts, beliefs, feelings etc -

The issue is a matter of degree and focus. Common sense would dictate that collective outrage should be targeted towards an issue like black on black violence. Imagine if there were marches and protests about the government not addressing this, against community members who propagate and spread the beliefs and ideology But instead you have organizations like BLM that garner all the attention and focus. Have you heard the stats about how poilce killings of black Americans is comparable to white killings statistically? Police killings are way on the bottom of the list of problems facing black america. There are better more holistic and inclusive places to place your moral outrage and energy. Here's my question for you. You know how when you watch a die hard trump supporter, you can automatically tell that his view is partial, skewed, bias etc. The die hard trump supporter does not have a clear mental filter on how to address political issues. Is it possible that political speakers like Vaush, Sam Seder etc are similarly partial, skewed, and bias in their perspective. The difference is you are aligned ideologically with Vaush etc so you don't see his approach has the same ideological blindspot as rightwingers. I'm not saying die hard trump fans vaush and die hard trump fans are identical or both of equal intelligence, insight etc, but overall point is that there is truth to both sides of the political dimension, and these political youtubers etc do not have a complete and honest analysis of politics. The way this forum views trump supporters, you can have another group who views leftists with the same sense of moral superiority -

Yeah you see this with leftist political channels. They cannot be honest because it would go against their audience, ideology etc. Sometimes you can see the urge to be honest come up in real time, but then they deflect, etc -
Raptorsin7 replied to kieranperez's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
If they could truly see it then they would talk about it imo. People are not knowingly dishonest, there are always unconscious factors driving the behavior. But I agree there are certain topics where people are aware they do not have the substance to argue so they deflect, shame, gaslight etc. That is common the forum -

Have you looked into going to some kind of retreat or a monastery? What kind of trip are you talking about? Like a vacation or a psychidelic trip? Is there any way to defer your studies, or is the semester almost over? Maybe you would benefit from taking time off, and simplifying your life. Do you have any family you could reach out to for help? -
Yeah, I want to win. To win at all costs. I don't understand. I think Leo was a PUA, but I don't think he was very good at it.

Well i've been a student. And the quality of the school didn't matter much because I was self motivated to learn. I learned most of what I knew from the textbooks, the teachers weren't all that important in hindsight. Have you seen how much the states and governments spend on students? Do you believe students from poor neighborhoods like black/brown communities in the US, would perform well in school if increased funding dramatically? How much would you expect to spend? The parents instill beliefs and values on their children, unless you want to put kids in schools from basically infancy to adulthood, then you will still be given a wounded mind to teach. Also, speaking of hypotheticals. SIngle motherhood is probably the most, if not one of the most, pressing problems facing black america. This is solved by stage blue values and ideals. Can you explain to me the leftist solution for single motherhood in black america? The current solution has been expand welfare, which incentivizes woman to have children they can't afford, and it also incentivizes woman to ditch men because the state will provide support. -

What is your ultimate goal with spirituality? Why do you want to move from the 3rd path to the 4th path? I would recommend finding a teacher you really resonate with and can connect with, and then submit your will to theirs. Teachers can see our blindspots better than we can, so find someone who you trust who can point to you in real time where you are going wrong and what needs to be worked. You will likely hit a wall if you are only working alone, or if you are simply dabbling with learning from other teachers. You have to be comfortable with a teacher to the point where you trust that they will guide you in the direction you need to go, and you will see the results come from their wisdom. When they say jump, you say how high. -

Have you ever seen Kevin Samuels? That's what he does, he moralizes and preaches and uses other people to make an example of the toxic culture for black america. And other people watch it, and they can see themselves in the people being confronted. And they can change their behavior and reflect on their delusions etc, because they can see it clearly. I am not saying there is no role for any of these things. There is a role, but you are missing a foundational piece. You can have the most well funded schools in the world. If the child does not take advantage of the school then what is the point? You can bring a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. That's not my only solution, you are just making assumptions about my position. There is a blindspot on this forum and in left wing politics, and given cancel culture etc there are very few people who are calling this stuff out. -
Beautiful music. Thank you @Salvijus

Well before there can be policy prescriptions you have to be honest about the problem, which is not what's happening right now with politics. Can you show me left wing speakers/thinkers who have a thorough analysis of personal responsibility and decision making? 18% of men are responsible for 80% of the children in black america, can you show me where this is being addressed as a toxic element of culture by the left? I am preaching personal responsibility because it is a blindspot for people on the left and on the forum. Everyone just dismisses these values as right wing because they have a myopic view on the topic. Growing up the spiral requires integration of lower stages. Black america is struggling with the transition from Red to Blue, and so clearly blue values are instrumental in their progression. Also, being insulted by an argument does not effect the quality of the argument. If anything it shows you have an overly sensitive ego. -

So there is no role of personal responsibility in black on black violence? -
Raptorsin7 replied to kieranperez's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
Why do you assume that I am saying personal responsibility is the one and only reason for the issues faced by the black community? So right wing values are not conscious values? -
Raptorsin7 replied to kieranperez's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
Can you show me someone on the left who gives a meaningfulness analysis of black on black violence? Maybe there is an inclusive perspective I am missing. -
Raptorsin7 replied to kieranperez's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
So you would choose neither? So what is the role of personal responsibility for those who suffer from structure violence? So you're saying discipline and accountability aren't part of a sober systems view? -
I am consciousness. INTP is not essential to my identity. Maybe you can out alpha me now, maybe. But I bet give it a month, and come back. You cannot beat me

lol. I had to read that a few times for it to click. I think people can transform from INTJ to ENTJ, and then shift. Sometimes I act like INTJ and sometimes I act like ENTJ

Ahh I see your point. It took a minute haha. Still my question has validity. Who would you rather have run the country? One example would be how Candice owens etc are the only one's who discuss black on black violence in the media. There is a level of personal responsibility and accountability that is completely ignored and shouted down in the left wing spaces. But that doesn't mean Candice Owens is right about most issues etc, I think she is very foolish. But on this point I agree. Go watch someone like David Ramsay who is a very stage blue financial guru. He preaches accountability, discipline etc. He's almost certainly a republican. There are many left wing people who really need to understand accountability, discipline etc but they would dismiss Ramsay because he looks like a stereotypical racist southern white guy
