  1. Thanks! It's a great inquiry, there's no really getting around the fact there's no justification for unnecessary suffering
  2. Hey, what's the point of repeatedly picking traits if you can't rationalize the suffering of the human without said trait? If you can't rationalize the suffering then isn't the inquiry essentially done? Am I missing something? Oh never mind I got it thanks (:
  3. @peanutspathtotruth What is yoga nidra, is it just laying down? Or is the binaural beat an important part of it?
  4. @peanutspathtotruth On your site you talk about sinking into the fèeling of love in the heart during meditation? What should we do if we dont feel any love, and we don't feel anything when we feel into the heart?
  5. Great to see man, congratulations (:
  6. I think it's entertaining and refreshing. He brings up good points, and he has a nonchalant attitude I like, and I think it disarms his conversation partners so what he says is more palatable. I'm skeptical that it makes sense to hold relative and absolute distinctions as you progress on the path. It seems more like a stop gap approach for people who have to yet to embody or realize the truth of the absolute, but I am not sure this is just an assumption. I wonder if even the most enlightened among us hold these kinds of arbitrary distinctions between the relative and absolute, my intuition tells me that these kinds of distinctions are only tenable from an egoic/devil pov.
  7. I'm not attempting to invalidate relative truth. I want to reconcile them.
  8. Idk it's a tough question. Part of me would want vengeance and retribution. Another part would see that I could have been that pedophile and he didn't choose to be a pedophile
  9. No i'm not questioning his effectiveness, I actually appreciate the way he's going about it. I like mrgirl I think what he's doing is good and I was kind of longing for an online content creator to speak sense to some of the blind spots in progressive ideology. I just view what's he's doing as distinct from simply dialoging with progressives and conservatives to promote more inter-political dialogue. I can see how what he's doing is a dialogue in some sense so my initial criticism may been unwarranted, but I see it more as getting on his soapbox and speaking the truth to whoever he can.
  10. Dam RIP. I wonder is this an attempt to bypass the suffering of being a human and going straight to the truth? During suicidal times of my life I wondered why shouldn't I just commit suicide and go straight to the truth and then simply restart the game and bypass this unnecessary suffering and torment. This reminds of @SoonHei. On the surface he seemed to be a happy and integrated guy, but I wonder why both of them felt the desire/need to commit suicide. Maybe this is mahasamadhi, a conscious choice to leave the body? One thing I can say from experience is the desire to help other people and share spiritual insights etc may be rooted in a desire to transcend one's own suffering. So they try their best to help others with the hope that they may in turn help themselves. I think he thought death was the path to bliss. It's tough because I also believe this, but I know you can experience divine bliss and peace without death so I don't feel an argue to off myself, but maybe if you haven't experienced that you would see that as a viable option?
  11. That's where I disagree. I don't see him doing that. I see him expressing his own unique view that is transcendent of both right and left wing views. It may be a byproduct that left wingers and right wingers may find more common ground. But the intent of his conversations isn't explicitly to do that. If it was you would see him bringing in right wingers and left wingers and having some kind of mediated conversation. This debate is a good example of what i'm talking about. He's not trying to incorporate or reconcile the views of the person he's talking with, i.e it's not a "productive" dialogue, instead he's pointing out flaws in their reasoning and expressing his views in an uncompromising manner.
  12. @Wilhelm44 Nice theory, that makes a lot of sense.
  13. My point was your reflexive dismissal of the absolute is an ego tactic that perpetuates your own suffering. That's fair, I think I interpreted dialogue different than how you meant it. I interpreted it as him trying to promote a dialogue across different view points, so for example bringing together right and left wing views to find a middle ground. But I agree he is dialoguing with other people.
  14. Lol. What you were saying is basically an argument for devilry and suffering. If you don't strive for living from the absolute and collapsing the duality, you are arguing for living and operating from the egoic self perspective without a greater understanding. I am saying we shouldn't accept that we must or should live without collapsing the relative and absolute distinction. That doesn't necessitate dialogue. He's just expressing an empathic perspective, but you can see he's not particularly interested in fully accepting or exchanging ideas. But this isn't a particularly interesting or meaningful point to discuss (: Yeah I agree. But from his debates he's not really trying to understand alternative views (I think he assumes he already understands it), he's just expressing his view in an uncompromising manner
  15. Well my goal is to collapse the distinction between the relative and absolute so I don't see why I wouldn't include it in an analysis. Unless you have some aversion to the truth, I don't see why you wouldn't it include in any meaningful analysis of a situation. I don't think mrgirl is trying to create a dialogue, it's more like he's just expressing his perspective in an uncompromising manner. He's pointing out flaws in tier 1 thinking and exposing blindspots, but he's doesn't seem particularly interested in changing anyone's view or trying to facilitate conversations between right wingers or left wingers for example.
  16. @Preety_India What if your son was a pedophile? If we follow your logic we should be hunting pedophiles wherever we find them and murder them where they stand.
  17. It's great to see a live shot of Leo in the world (:
  18. @QQQ Wow detailed response. That makes sense now, yeah there is that double standard at green I guess lol
  19. @captainamerica I'm in agreement with your views, but I think given you're going against the consensus on the forum people will dislike you/ your views. So I thought it was fitting.
  20. Thanks for introducing this guy i've loved what i've seen so far
  21. @captainamerica Are you the alternative timeline captain America that joined hydra? Jk
  22. I don't get the joke lol
  23. What would you think/how would you feel if your boyfriend made a post talking about how much he loves his gf but her face is kind of ugly and she's a starfish in bed, so he wants to fuck other woman in front of her or go behind her back to get with more beautiful woman?
  24. @captainamerica I think its useful to address individual beliefs and perspectives according to sd values. So some people have sd green beliefs about x topic, but on another topic they have sd blue beliefs. I think it explains the cognitive dissonance and misunderstanding of wealth creation and allocation on this thread
