Yeah that's the thing this topic can't be resolved in the near term because it's so toxic. If the other side of that equation is true the researchers will be branded racist

The total gap isn't blamed on race, but I think the Charles Murray argument would be part of the gap is explained by genetics, whereas the assumption is that the entire gap is explained by economic, education, etc injustice. Have you looked into this extensively or is this mostly speculation?

But if there's a huge genetic component then wouldn't it make sense there would be a difference between all groups? Even if it's not significant. You're basically saying intelligence is largely influenced by genetics, but whatever genetics cause it are negligible between groups. That doesn't make sense to me.

@Leo Gura So is there any truth to intelligence hsave a genetic component? Haven't you said that even spirtual ability is related to genetics?

@Lyubov Sweet. I'm also trying to overcome these blocks. I'm hoping that parts work and making major changes in my emotional well being will lead to the changes I want. How did you overcome your blocks in other aspects of your life? Was it long term therapy, or were there certain critical points that led to rapid change?

How many people here hope/expect to get married at some in their lives? I think I want to get married, but i'm unsure about monogamy. I'm skeptical that it makes sense to be with one person for the rest of your life, or that there is a "special" person. But I would prefer to have one person, rather than cycle through multiple partners. Maybe some form of polyamory with close friends could make sense i'm not sure.

@Karl-Heinz Mueller But just because Leo advocates against materialism it doesn't mean that it is in fact true. Just don't close your mind to what's possible bevause of Leo's flaws as a teacher.

How are you certain that life is not mystical and magical? And how can you be certain that materialism is true? Isn't it possible there is some truth to that, but you are just not aware. Why are you so certain?

@Illusory Self Look into IFS and parts work. What you're describing is a part of yourself that is sabotaging yourself. You can identify those parts of your mind and bring them into harmony with yourself.

Sam was a great bridge for me to get interested in serious spiritual seeking. I think he got caught up with fame and achieving material success, but he was a real seek for over a decade in his 20's. His app has a lot of great teachers and conversations on it. I definitely wouldn't say he's anti spiritual, but he's definitely close minded to some more radical insight and exploration into consciousness

Does anyone have good resources on forgiveness? I've been resonating with a lot of Jesus quotes recently and it seems like learning forgiveness is essential, but I don't really know what it means to forgive. Has anyone been at a similar place and learned what it means to forgive?

I want to learn Kriya Yoga, and from what I understand finding a guru who can guide the process is very important. Is it okay to get initiated and receive grace through online communications or do I have to meet the teacher in person? Does anyone know of Gurus in Western Canada? Also if anyone share personal experience with Kriya yoga that would be cool. Thanks

I realized people don't need to be perfect to provide value, it's all about whether they have something they can teach you or show you Wow 95% is a big number. I am at a place where I just say idk about people who are enlightened, but I just see if they have something worth learning about

@Salvijus What do you think of getting Kriya instruction and practice from an online guru? Could I have the same benefit as someone who got an in person instruction? You got your initiation in person right? What do you think would have happened if you did it online

I was watching a video on Jesus and at a certain point I felt like I could connect with the energy of Christ. Like if you ask what is Jesus, or who was he, hes not a person rather hes the energy animating the body. So you can connect and be the energy of Christ, or you could say you become Christ. I'm going to play around with embodying this Christ like energy/spirit. Has anyone else had similar experiences with teachers like Christ or Buddha

I had a dream where two indian woman, 1 old and 1 young, told me they would show me my real self. They began some kind of cult ritual that began sexual, and ended up with me getting my throat slit. I could feel the pressure on my throat when I woke up. I remember thinking they better not do some demonic shit to me. But I didn't feel threatened or angry when I woke up, I think they were trying to show me the true self beyond life or death. I could feel my entire body shake with energy like I was going to let it all go and die. I've felt this energy before, it feels like i'm about to fully let go. But I couldn't do it. I resisted the urge to let go
