  1. @CuriousityIsKey We all exist as part of the one existence
  2. I don't have a shamatha practice, but i've experimented with stuff like Loch Kelly's effortless mindfulness so I have some experience with just sitting and being. I am going tomorrow so I don't have any time to prepare, but I heard the first 3 days are about just sitting and observing the breathe so hopefully I can make some progress with that. I am just excited to be in an environment that forces to me to just sit and be with myself. I can already feel all sorts of knots and energetic sensations of the body, so i'm hoping to just deepen my ability to feel this stuff, and maybe get some insight into my unique blend of suffering. Every time I just sit and be at the end of the day I always feel some sense of progression developing, bu then I get distracted by something in my life and I always say in my head I can come back to this later. If I can make some progress in untying some of these energetic knots, or get some serious insight into why I suffer the way I do that would be pretty sweet. I've heard people have insights into striving and how they add to their own suffering, so anything I get out of this should be good progress. I'm planning on going to the Isha center in Tenessee for a few months this year, so this is almost like a warm up for that. But I have some great experiences and growth then that's a huge bonus. Good luck with your retreat I'm curious to see how this affects each of us
  3. @Leo Gura But your own awakenings aren't even complete, so how can you be sure that you won't look back at this entire conversation in a few weeks/months/years and think wow I was so deluded. I'd be very curious to see when you develop to a point where you can resolve your health issues and learn some healing capabilities, at that point maybe you can be more confident that you aren't deluding yourself
  4. I lost these videos, but luckily someone reupload them. These videos are like a direct uplink to divinity
  5. @axiom Sorry man, but I think this pure nonsense. When you have a real awakening it will touch the core of your existence, and then you will see how nonsensical this kind of teaching is. You can experience your entire being as transculent blissful energy. When Jim Newman talks about this then i'll give it some credence.
  6. Well even if control is only an illusion, I don't see how believing it without experiencing it would serve any purpose. I signed up for a vipassana retreat, i got initiated into Suriya Kriya, etc. All of these things were based on my perception of control. How about my question? What do you think about suffering and well being? See, my understanding of the path does not exclude well being or general performance and evolution as a human being. But neo advaita and what you're spouting has huge holes.
  7. But how does this do anything for your well being or life? Like when I do a Suriya kriya yoga practice I feel a slight buzz and improvement in my day. And when i've had transcendent experiences on psychidelics there are undeniable shifts in my perception and sense of reality. But with this there is nothing. Like if you're miserable before hearing this, you're still miserable after. So what is the utility?
  8. @Salvijus Well at least we can agree that one should be very skeptical about neo advaita claims
  9. Lol that makes no sense. How would the daughter of the affair partner get money? My take is he was like a spirtual philosopher, but didn't resolve the energetic knots of the body that lead to real emotional and psychological growth
  10. @Salvijus Well this one I believe because its written by the daughter of the woman with whom he had an affair. But its possible I'm wrong. And if I'm wrong about that my whole argument is finished
  11. Sorry I meant venerate. Well both things can be true I guess. Wise teaching and poor moral conduct. But I guess my overall point is that the teaching was fllawed, unless he reconciled with it his moral failing. If you get married and I have an affair with your wife, then anything I say should be called into question
  12. @Salvijus I just googled it, it came from the book written by the daughter of the woman who was part of the affair. I'm always looking for consistency and integrity in the teacher. If something is not in alignment my alarm bells go off. Especially when moral conduct is involved with teachers.
  13. @Salvijus I'm just saying, if the man's spirtual path wasn't enough to teach him enough integrity to not behave like that, then what is the value of generating him?
  14. Is he the guy who had a long affair with the wife of his long time business partner? Or is that the other j Krishnamurti
  15. @Consilience What do you think of people who claim to channel Jesus/Yeshua? Have you ever felt/looked into that?
  16. No, he experienced the profound benefits of his practices, and he knows that everyone who is doubting him here is not doing it based on direct experience, but their own projections and biases. I was very resistant to doing any Sadhguru practices, but I finally got initiated into Suriya kriya and it has completely changed my outlook on Isha and Sadhguru. @Salvijus told me this is exactly what would happen from my initiation into suriya kriya, and that's exactly what happened. But I don't rule out the possibility that Sadhguru may have some flaws or shadow elements that people may respond be reacting to.
  17. @Salvijus Lol you aren't very convincing. Just watching Sadhguru can lead people to think he's nothing special, but it wont make sense unless you do the practices. I'd be surprised if someone did the practices and then claimed Sadhguru was not genuine. But its possible he may have some shadow elements or blind spots
  18. No I think this practice is only offered in person. But Shambhavi mudra is offered online, and I've heard that is an even more powerful practice. And no I didn't go to India. Sadhgurus organization, Isha, has certified hatha yoga teachers. I was lucky that I had 1 in my city. It's a really great practice, it's been a game changer for me in my mood, and its inspired a deeper spirtual pursuit.
  19. @Bojan V Sadhguru has practices that can lead to genuine well being. That's a huge feat
  20. @Salvijus How can you be confident Sadhguru has reached the limits of what's possible? And how confident are you that Sadhguru is on the level of the Buddha? That seems like a strong statement, i'm skeptical.
  21. @Mindful Bum I agree with what you're saying, but I don't think Leo has the capability or compassion to help people with more conventional mental illness. And most people here will just assume there's higher wisdom behind Leo's actions so don't expect too much
