I really liked the great gatsby movie. The cinematography and music were exceptional. There are a lot of scenes that really moved me. This is one my favs.

I see a lot of conflict on the forum around how we understand solipsism. I'm curious to which view of solipsism the people on the forum subscribe too. 1. I am the only consciousness in existence and we are all just figments my imagination. Similar to how someone can be the main character in the game, and the rest of the characters in the game are secondary. 2. Each of us the same consciousness and so we are all imaging each other. So you are all being imagined by me, but it would also be true to say that you are all imaging me. I think the 2nd view eliminates most of the issues I see with people understanding solipsism on the forum. So, although everything is your imagination in a sense, and the world is being imagined by you, the same holds true for any conscious being so you are not in a unique or special place relative to other people. I'm curious if there is an alternative view of solipsism, or if any of my views are incomplete.

@Razard86 No, i'm not saying you are all just projections of my imagination and I'm not a projection of your imaginations. I believe we are all imagination, and anyone who is consciously reading this right is part of the imaginative process unfolding without our control. I guess my main point is that some people are interpreting Leo's views on solipsism as Leo is the only one imagining everyone else in some form of heirarchy, like how in a video game no one ascribes consciousness and creative power to NPC's like they do the main character they are playing. -
@Michael569 I can spend more than 90 days because I can travel to non schengen countries so i can go to more countries and spend more time there. I will definitely think about cutting my list so I can spend more time in places I really want to be. I think i will spend most of my time in air bnb's because I can get a room to myself, but if i'm feeling like I really want to party then I can always check out a party hostel. I'm also excited to try clubbing by myself, i've never done it before and I think it could be fun. And thanks, yeah i'm really excited. Yeah maybe I'll look into this. I don't think i'm going to be doing a lot of train travelling so i may be better off just paying for the train when i use it. When I go to a country like Spain or France, I don't plan on going to every major city, maybe just a handful in each. I'd be happy with a week in most cities, and maybe even two weeks if the city is really enjoyable.

That's fair, I would be hesitant to do sex work too unless i had no good alternatives. I think something like OF is between modelling and traditional sex work. And if we're working normal jobs, we are all slaves in a very real sense. Even though I think it's a decent alternative, I think most guys would be very turned off by their partner doing OF so there's that element too
-
@Lila9 You could do only fans. I think if you need money it's a pretty good alternative to traditional sex work.

@Tyler Robinson Just to explore, wander, contemplate, get out of my comfort zone, have some new experiences. I also want to visit some of Napoleon's famous battle sites, and visit his grave and the graves of his marshals.

@Oeaohoo Leo once said he'd have no issue shooting people on site if they open carried during protests etc. That's the level of wisdom and compassion this kind of policy is coming from. This stuff will sort itself, but I know the feeling of wanting to speak up against obvious nonsense. -
@Nilsi I'm pretty flexible with my schedule. I think I'll likely end up going in October/November and I will stay until March/May. I thought you could only stay 90 days originally, but theres a workaround if I travel to non schengen countries so my trip will be longer. As far as the weather, during the winter months I will stick to warmer countries like Italy, Greece, Spain etc and as the weather gets better I'll move to areas with better weather. I essentially have a blank cheque and want to go asap so thats why I'd rather go now than later. I'm also looking forward to spending a lot of time in silent contemplation and wandering, so I'm not worried about it being busy for tourists or not

Banning people from the politics section because they hold alternative political views lol. Very wise and conscious indeed. -
@gettoefl I see I see. I think conscious people have a natural beauty and glow to them, and I think even with age people can retain a large part of their beauty and attractiveness. There are some old woman at my work who I could see myself still being attracted too as I age. But I also think i'm overly attached to looks, so this opinion may change. I'm conflicted about polyamory. On my meditation retreat I actually had an experience where a burning sensation in my penis led me to have a flood of insight being more tolerant to polyamory and how subjective our relationship ideals are. At the same time, I still deep down wish to only have a single partner that I share a unique bond with. But ultimately I will be forced into the relationship type that is most in alignment with the truth.
-
If you have two woman in your life, is there an issue with favoritism? Surely there will be on person you find yourself more attracted too. And do you find yourself in situations where there is a conflict with the other partners. Do you have any involvement if they have relationships with other men? And do you think it's possible for you to meet one person who is attractive enough to where you do not desire other romantic partners? Do you have a limit to the number of serious partners you would want?
-
@gettoefl So are you trying to seek out relationship again? I remember you said one of your partners died, but do you still have another partner? And are you planning on being polyamorous with the next person

Listening to the heroic stories of Napoleons marshals is incredibly inspiring and motivating. I listen to these almost everyday at work, and it enhances my work ethic. "... At Krasny, when the rearguard got cut off from the rest of the army, Ney angrily rejected calls to surrender. And led his men in an astonishing forced march across enemy territory. Crossing the frozen Dnieper river at night. Personally pulling men from the river when they fell through the ice. Surrounded by cossaks and down to 800 fighting men(from 6000) he formed square and kept moving. Ney was more than a hero to the army, he was its Talisman. "Napoleon himself remarked what a soilder. The army is full of brave men. But Michel Ney is truly, the bravest of the brave"

@King Merk Yeah this was my first retreat, but I feel like I've been serious about the path for 3 years now. I don't think I could have completed it without a lot of the work I've done these past few years, but also I feel like I'm a lot more immature and mentally weaker than most people from my background so it kinda balances I guess. I definitely think doing a short retreat can be a good way to get your feet wet. Maybe a 1-3 day retreat. But also if you feel up for it, jumping into a 10 day can be incredible too -

What do you mean by this? I don't know how to respond, are you talking about the insights into meditation I had before the retreat? -
Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33). “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. It's about trusting in god, everything else is a distraction.

I left for law school a few years ago, and I started doing yoga so i didn't feel the need to continue. But also, I felt discouraged because I was very inconsistent in my performance and I felt like my time was better spent doing other things. When I had a peak experience on LSD a few years I realized why I felt limited in bjj and what the solution was, and since then my focus has been spirituality. But I am open to returning to BJJ, i still have good relationships with the guys who train at the gym near me.
-
@King Merk Keep at it, BJJ guys can be some of the best people to be around. I did it for a few years, and I met some exceptional people through the gym. Aside from a few psychos, i think most people who do BJJ seriously have really healthy egos and are just all around good guys.

@Illusory Self I think having a bottle of wine can be good, alcohol is good for anxiety, so drinking a cup can be a good way to relax when first meeting the person. The most important thing is to be self assured and relaxed. Woman can sense your emotional state, so it's not so important to do the right thing, but moreso to be in the right mental/emotional state. Maybe do a bunch of push ups or go for a really long walk and see how you feel after.

@Aleister Crowleyy You got this.
-
@Aleister Crowleyy Good luck bro, keep trying different things. I was suicidal a few years ago too so i can relate to the struggle, but life can turn around so quickly and there's so much potential for an awesome life.

@KH2 Looks aren't even in the top 10 of what men should focus on.
