Bad idea. There is no self. No self... no emotions do work through. This goes against the core of this work. Mods please close this asap -
@Zeroguy Enough!

I was contemplating just now and I realized that nothing matters at all. Anything in life that happens doesn't ultimately matter, either way it goes it really doesn't mean anything. At first glance this can seem bad or misguided, but if you think about it... it frees you of the burden of meaning. If something truly matters then if you lose that thing you're going to suffer it's absence. But if nothing matters then you are free. Any thoughts?

@BipolarGrowth He describes various steps leading to Samdhi during meditation. One of the markers he talks about is the feeling of getting sucked into something, or being drawn like a magnet to the sensation around the third eye. Check out his videos on the spiritual eye and enlightenment I think those will have insights. He talks about different parts of the brain and how it relates to enlightenment/meditation it's interesting. -
Yeah this makes a lot of sense. I have an interest in psychology and I have a cousin with mental health issues who's on track to be a teacher/counsellor in the future. I know i was always interested in psychology growing up and I am pretty crazy

@Zeroguy You're just rambling. None of this is true, it's just your distorted perspective.

@BipolarGrowth Check out Forrest Knutson's youtube channel he has good insights related to this stuff. Getting sucked into a black hole is something I spoke to him about recently actually -

@intotheblackMost of these people who are seeking more partners aren't satisfied with life, and so they are using sex with other people for pleasure like a fat kid uses cake. If you were happy and loving, and you loved your partner, why would you want to do something that harms them just to satisfy sexual desires? Also if people have kids then it gets even more squirrely. Where's mom?... She's off having sexy with Jim because your dad wants more sexual variety to feel content with life lmao

@Zeroguy Well that doesn't really answer anything tbh. It doesn't tell me how to change the dream, or how to imagine specific things. Like how do I imagine my crown chakra opened and bliss? Saying I imagine the crown chakra and I am imagining bliss doesn't really do anything -
No, I am talking about who people let those desires drive their relationships. I have a desire to eat junk food, but imagine if I designed my diet around junk food. And i think comparing the desire to rape and the desire to have sex outside of a monogamous relationship is valid. Why is rape bad, but being poly good? Did i trigger you because you like cheating on your partner?

@Zeroguy Hmm, I mean I can see there Is only what is right now. And i'm just labelling you as a person even though you are just part of what is. On psychs I get a greater sense of how this is all just imagination but right now things seem pretty concrete and what you said doesn't really move the needle -
Raptorsin7 replied to flyingwhalee's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Zeroguy I get that, but why do you full awakening is blackening. It seems like you're saying that full awakening eliminates awareness, but how could you know any of that without being aware of it whilie it was happened. So full blackening isn't really full black -
I've had thoughts similar to Sunny. Logically it follows. If this is just a dream and the truth is that reality is all good and we simply creating reality for our own experience then why not just die and create a new dream rather than wait 50 years etc because you will die eventually. Most people will live their entire lives without experiencing love, deep joy bliss etc, but when they die they will get all that and more. From their perspective what is the point of living and not just killing themselves? But at the same time, the guy left his 2 kids to grow up without a father. And if you read his posts there's a sense that he is parroting some spiritual tropes without an understanding of how they fit into reality at large.

@Zeroguy You're still aware of the blackening aren't you? So maybe there's no-thing, but there's still something(Idk another word that fits) right? -
Yeah this is some nonsense lots of guys have woman believing haha. I can see how at some point in their lives men seek variety, but at a certain point there is no point in seeking additional sex if you are in a relationship. It's degenerative behavior. Might as well say men have to go out and rape once in a while or the relationship won't work

Be careful who you choose for this role. You should vet their post history to ensure they are emotionally stable and integrated. There's so many broken people on here who think they can fix others lol

But isn't this a recipe for suffering? If you become attached to something how can you be free? The alternative to nothing matters is something matters to a different degree than others and then you become trapped. You can get bought into the story. But if you take a step back isn't it always the case that it doesn't really matter. -
Raptorsin7 replied to Raptorsin7's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Inliytened1 No but on the relative things don't really matter either. If you start buying into things mattering I think you are guaranteed to suffer. Nothing matters, everything is one taste. I guess you can say everything matters but if everything matters then really nothing matters -
Given the trends toward isolation amongst modern young people there are many more single men and woman nowadays than in other periods of history. I think there's a stat saying around 1/4 black woman will get married in the US, and there are other shocking single stats in countries like Korea and Japan. If you were a single woman would you be content to die alone, or would you be content in sharing a partner with other woman? Also, for the men would you be comfortable having multiple partners? Are there any woman would want multiple male partners? Also, would any mean here be content sharing a woman with other men.

Is there an ideal relationship style that is closest to the highest good? Like if someone said my dating strategy is to rape as many woman as I can before I die we can all agree that is not an ideal dating strategy for living a good life. So is there is some kind of relationship style that is best? I've always thought that find a single person to be with and marry is the ideal situation, but this is just conditioning and I didn't actually come to this conclusion on my own. Are there are better relationship styles? Any thoughts?

This is a really interesting point that i've thought about recently. Think about a teacher like Rupert Spira. I have found a lot of value in his teaching style, and I think he's a great teacher, but who are all these people watching his videos? If a person really understood his teaching, why is there a need to keep following? But he has a large following. There are lots of gaps in the classical neo advaita teaching even though I think it provides some great insight
