The Lucid Dreamer replied to Tim R's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Ya know, funnily enough, it was actually Sam Harris that got me started. He has this pretty damn profound 26 minute guided meditation on his podcast that I listened to which got me to see clearly that sense of self was illusory. But once I connected with that, I also somehow realized simultaneously that having no self or no identity necessarily means I must be all identities and that I am going to live all lives. I realized then that Sam Harris was missing something and that there is something far more profound about existence and consciousness than what he realizes. I went on to have deeper realizations into the nature of Infinity and relativity(with the help of cannabis :P), all of which I thought were my original ideas, until I started sharing my insights with my brother. While talking to him about all my mind blowing insights, he was like, “Uh… have you ever heard of Alan Watts?… Cause you’re basically just saying the things that he teaches” I then looked up Alan Watts and started listening to his teachings. My mind was blown as I was hearing him repeat back to me all of things I had been realizing on my own. (Albeit in a much more eloquent and articulate way) That was how I started going down the rabbit hole which eventually led me to Leo’s videos. But as far as who has had the biggest impact on me, it’s a toss up between Leo and Alan Watts. I definitely gotta thank Sam Harris for that initial push in the right direction though. -

To me, it’s allegorical to non-duality in how the Yin (the feminine) and the Yang (the Masculine) come together in perfect Love or perfect acceptance of one another to create existence (a new organism) in explosive ecstasy. -

Tweedledum and Tweedledee agreed to have a battle. Somehow, the polarities add up to a positive: Love. But how can that be? It’s simply miraculous. -

Well the Devil is the ego, so you could say in a sense the Devil does control you a lot if not most of the time. -

Honestly, I don’t think it really matters whether or not it was a sign from the universe in any objective sense. If that experience was special to you and felt like it meant something, then it did, because the only one prescribing any meaning or significance to anything is You. Technically, it has no more or less meaning than anything else you experience in reality. It’s all nothingness. Even these words. -

I get a sensation like that when I take that first toke of N,N,DMT. That voice in the back of your head just shuts the fuck up and it feels like how in a first person video game when you reach a cut scene and all the hud info like health bar and radar etc disappears. All your conceptual grids that normally overlay your experience just disappear and there is simply what is appearing. -

Consciousness is being. I think he meant in that video that it’s not “consciousness” in the dualistic sense, as opposed to unconsciousness. Though truly, you cannot put a name on it. Being and consciousness are just sounds we are making with our mouths in an attempt to define something that is completely undefinable. -

It’s kinda funny how back when we made vaccines for things like tetanus, small pox and polio, no one had to be forced or convinced to get the vaccines. Basically everyone just did it totally willingly, cause they were like “Bruh, I don’t wanna get diseases, gimme them vaccines! Thank God they made these vaccines! It’s a miracle!” But now… this. Humans will never cease to amaze me. -
Epistemology is the branch of philosophy dealing with knowledge. What is knowledge, is knowledge possible, how do we know things, etc etc. And yes, it’s probably one of the most important things you could possibly study.

It is a joke in a sense. Enlightenment is the result of getting the “punchline” of reality, so to speak. Some awakening experiences I’ve had left me laughing hysterically out of the pure hilarity. -
If you want just a general rudimentary understanding of these subjects, these are very good. Years ago, I watched almost all of these and took notes on them.

“Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behaviour and information processing. They open you up to the possibility that everything you know is wrong.” ~Terence Mckenna -

I think the US had more pressure to disclose because of certain videos leaking and pilots coming out with their testimonies. The cat was already out of the bag in a sense. -

About 6 years ago, when I first realized I was going to live every life and go through every possible pain and misery and torture, I went into the fetal position in my bed and started hyper-ventilating saying “No! I can’t do it! I can’t do it” and just stayed like that for hours, trying to find a way to be come to terms with that reality. To no avail, really. It really didn’t help that I was absolutely blazed on dabs at the time, haha. And to be honest, it still sort of bugs me to this day. The only thing that has given me comfort is finding out through my awakening experiences that all the suffering is more than made up for in the end by the Love and Joy that you realize you are when you wake up from the dream. In some of my deepest awakening experiences, I remember thinking, “All of the suffering I have gone through is like a joke and so inconsequential in the face of this Love. I’d go through it a thousand more time just to have this experience again.” Now of course, when you are truly suffering, it doesn’t really seem worth it. The suffering seems bigger than the love in those moments. But after awakening, I know that that isn’t true. I now know that pain and suffering is always finite, but Love and Beauty are eternal. In the end, when God awakens to itself, it makes it more than all right. -

Feel free to share your lucid dreaming experiences here and what thoughts or insights you have drawn from them. Or if you just have questions about it, like what techniques you can use to achieve a lucid dream or whatever, feel free to ask here. I have quite a bit of experience in this area, and I believe it can be a great tool for exploring consciousness, understanding how reality itself is a dream and learning how to transcend it. -

Yeah… though, in their defense, 5-meo/dmt/malt aren’t very well known substances yet. Once these substances become more popular and more available, I’m sure the number of meth and heroine users will steadily decrease. -
The Lucid Dreamer replied to SQAAD's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
I’ve heard that people who have gotten sober from meth will cry regularly because they can’t do it anymore. I’m assuming it’s about one of the best things you can possibly feel. In the words of Louis C.K.: It’s so good, it’ll ruin your life. -
Or you could start your own YouTube channel teaching in Arabic.

I was just waiting for someone else to ask about this, haha. It’s slow or just plain unresponsive mainly on my iPhone. On my iPad, it behaves almost normally. Wondering if the website has some kind of incompatibility with iOS web browser.
