@randomwanderer123 Just saying that if he wanted to make it more believable, he could set it up in a much better way. That is by holding up the bowl with his other hand, or proving to the audience that there is no cymatic frequency happening under the bowl. But that would require him to actually have psychic powers. If he could actually do this with his mind, it really wouldn’t be that hard to demonstrate. If he won’t let anyone else set up the conditions, you should be very skeptical. We should not abandon skepticism and rationality just because we are more open minded than the average individual when it comes to things like this. It’s great to be radically open minded and I am actually very open minded to psychic phenomena. In fact, I think we have sufficient reason to conclude that it is a real thing, but as the saying goes, don’t be so open minded that your brain falls out. There is a fine line between open mindedness and naive gullibility. Try not to fall on the latter side. -

Probably has a cymatic frequency generator under the table. If he can do that while someone else is holding the plate, then we might have something. -

Oh my god, I KNEW he watched Actualized.org! I don’t know how I could tell, but I remember thinking not too long ago while listening to him that he seemed like he must consume very high consciousness material like actualized.org or something like it. And he wasn’t even talking about metaphysics or anything like that, it was mostly just the unusual amount of nuance and consciousness he was exhibiting. Man, that’s crazy. -

I believe this is correct. The point I don’t think is to “kill” the ego, but to tame it. -

@Gesundheit Well then, as Leo likes to say: you’re not awake. Sorry. This has nothing to do with belief. -

You need to have a non-dual experience bro, haha. The only thing that makes anyone think something isn’t perfectly beautiful is their own self-biases. Once those are stripped away, all that is left is Beauty. Even all the feelings of mundaneness or ugliness you’ve felt throughout your life or anyone else’s life is beautiful. Beauty goes far beyond just pure aesthetics. -
The Lucid Dreamer replied to Someone here's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Someone here Yeah it sure seems that way while in this dualistic ego clouded state of consciousness. But it turns out that Love and Beauty are, contrary to common wisdom, Objective. Not what I was expecting find, but hey. I realize I’m coming across as some enlightened snobby know it all right now, but I’m just honestly trying to share what I’ve found about happiness. I take this work very seriously(almost to an obnoxious degree for the people around me :P) and I’ve experimented heavily with radically altered states of consciousness which have allowed me to see reality without the constraints of the egoic mind. But honestly, there’s really no need to argue about it or to speculate. Anyone can discover this for themselves. Just become free from the shroud of the ego and see what is left. It just is what it is. -

Beauty. And of course the only way to see the beauty in all things is to transcend the ego. Whatever it is, look at it free from egoic biases, and see that it is Beautiful. In fact, it is Beauty Itself. -

Yeah, I’m highly... highly skeptical of Frank Yang’s claim that his baseline state of consciousness is equivalent to a 5-Meo-DMT trip. Just cause someone makes a claim like this does not mean we need to necessarily believe it. And even if it is true, then I would posit that he has some incredibly abnormal neurology. -

I had my first real spiritual insights due to weed(dabs more specifically, so my experiences were probably more psychedelic than most people’s first experiences with cannabis). I was an atheist-materialist obsessed and steeped in western philosophy at the time, so my mind was very philosophically charged. I was absolutely obsessed with trying to figure out reality, so when I started smoking dabs, my mind just became a philosophizing machine, lol. Way before I had ever heard of Leo, Alan Watts or any other spiritual teacher, I realized on my own (with the invaluable help of cannabis) many of the main insights. I realized that the idea of the self was an illusion I realized I was God(Though I called it the Universe out of bias), I realized reality must necessarily be absolutely infinite because there is nothing outside of it that could limit it and that the finite must necessarily precipitate from an infinite source otherwise there couldn’t be anything. I grasped how the map is not the territory and how symbolism can never directly represent what is actually there, I realized that I was going to live every single life possible and that everyone was me separated by death. I started talking to my brother about my thoughts on all this because I was so excited about it naively thinking that I was the first one to think of these things and that I was on the cutting edge of philosophy. While talking to him about all this he was just kinda staring at me wide-eyed and then finally said “Uuuh... have you ever heard of Alan Watts?” I said no ”Weelll, you should probably check him out.” And so I did, and as I listened to him, I started to hear him repeat back to me all the same insights I had been having(albeit in a much more eloquent and articulate way) and I was floored. I had no idea people had known these things for thousands of years. On one hand I felt vindicated, but on the other hand disappointed that I wasn’t the first to think of it. So yeah, I think weed can be incredibly valuable for spiritual insight, at least during the beginning stages. It can help, but only if you give it something to work with. Your mind has to be primed to some degree and you have to have an actual deep desire for truth. I don’t smoke it hardly at all anymore as it has basically shown me everything it can for now. I have since moved on to the heavier substances for deeper realizations. -

I kind of understand his reluctance to reveal what it is. If it starts getting a lot of attention, then it has a higher chance of getting scheduled. However I would also like to know what it is so I can try to get a hold of some before that happens. -

These are my insights on reincarnation from my awakening experiences: Every life is your past, present, and future life. There is no linear sequence to what lives you live. If that were true, then that would mean there was a first life you lived and an end life you will live. This would mean that there was a beginning point to when you started living lives, but of course, as God(who is Absolutely Infinite) you never had a beginning, nor will you have an end. Linearity necessarily implies finiteness (which means there is a beginning and an end) but the amount of lives you lived/are living/will live is absolutely infinite, so how could it have had a beginning or end? With no beginning or end, there is no “next” or “before”. Every point in Infinity is the very center! How could “you“ go to the “next” life when there is no such thing as “you” to begin with? This idea is born from the ego. It implies that there is some unique individual identity that moves on from life to life, but as everyone on this forum should understand: YOU HAVE NO IDENTITY. Your actual identity is God, which is all identities and none at the same time. And God lives all lives at once, in the Eternal NOW. -

What would be wrong if there were no one here to ask the question is that God wouldn’t be God if it didn’t live through your life and ask this question. God is Absolute Infinity and therefore must explore and experience all finitudes within itself. And the only way God can do that is to “forget” it is God. Don’t take any of these words too literally. When I say God is “tricking itself” or “forgetting”, I’m only speaking metaphorically. -
The Lucid Dreamer replied to StateOfMind's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Your very existence hinges on you not knowing what you really are. It’s that simple. God creates through trickery. It must trick itself into believing it is a finite limited being separate from the rest of reality, otherwise, there would be no one here to even ask the question. -

This man’s sketches are absolutely brilliant and I consider them to be high consciousness comedy. His whole thing is putting into question all of the things that we just totally take for granted in our culture and world views and shows quite hilariously how relative our perspectives are and how nothing that we believe in the world is obvious. Do yourself a favor and watch all of these. Just about every one of his sketches on YouTube are hilarious. He also has a show on the channel ScreenRant called Pitchmeeting. Those are equally if not more hilarious than the ones on his own channel. -

@How to be wise Yeah, I’m not particularly concerned with what “stage” it is. The point is that it gets you to stop taking things for granted, and gets you to see the relativity of things, which is a consciousness raising exercise and it is what the world needs more of. It can open you up to higher stages of thinking. -
The Lucid Dreamer replied to The Lucid Dreamer's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I didn’t claim it was SD tier two. I said it was consciousness raising. I think it cleverly shows how the things we normally take for granted in our every day lives are not obvious things, and that the way we see many things due to our cultural programming is not necessarily how they need to be perceived. -

Purchase harmalas or extract your own and do some pharmahuasca. Or vape small doses and meditate. A breakthrough experience is not always a great way to get existential insight because there is just so much going on and so much information flowing into you that you can’t maintain any of it and the visuals are very distracting. But people claim to meet entities on breakthrough doses who give them the secrets of existence, so that may be valuable. -

More than likely it’s humans. The first one looked pretty well made but it had rivets. Not saying aliens wouldn’t necessarily use rivets, but it just seems like a fairly non-advanced way of constructing something. In the descriptions of many ufo’s it’s stated that they are all one piece with no rivets or extra pieces of any kind.
