@eTorro Lots of reading, speaking to people and in his mind articulating his ideas. I wouldn't be surprised if he did speaking exercises as well, given how fluid he can switch and connect different ideas together, like talking faster, slower, louder, quieter, and so on. -

Here's the video of the not guilty verdict: Also a reaction video to it.: What are your thoughts? -
@AleksM At the very least, there's a movement that offers the seriously sexually addicted a chance to challenge themselves to abstain from porn/masturbation, for one month per year. After that, it's up to the person how much more/less masturbation and sex is needed. Important point is person gave it a try, and became a little bit more conscious of any compulsive behavior that needs working. The main problem is letting the porn viewing become compulsive, overly compulsive that every normal activity you feel like nutting doing normal day actions, that's when it can get damaging, as that has some influence on state, thoughts/feelings cycle, moral view, cognition and distorted values and views especially on sexuality. There are some ways to let the person train their self awareness enough to distinguish masturbation from pornography, separate the two, and allow the person to change the object of focus for the masturbation. One of the ways in that is taking on the Nofap for one month challenge, and so it's not just a person becoming into a state of Nofap, the person is being in the state of Nofap. In that state, the person can experience ever increasing self awareness on their thoughts, feelings, morals, and personality. Any lack can then become more obvious to the person in that state to work on. Yes, amazing benefits at around day 90 can be framed as stage orange thinking and marketing, but depending on how severe the compulsive behavior is to a person, those 90 days are amazing to those who are deeply suffering. A few have experienced such benefits around 90 days in. The Taoists who practice celibacy do so throughout the winter session, and after that return to their allotted times of sexual release techniques. It's in the realm of possibility. And to some who are naturally less sexually active, might not experience those benefits to that degree. Yes, seasoned monks can induce orgasmic states of consciousness, and non-ejaculate. Highly trained and gifted human beings. And? Yeah, I know, too good to be true, but very few people can induce orgasmic states at will.

@Salvijus I could see that most of Nofap, and to some extent semen retention, can be confirmation bias. There's a bit more benefits one can get with even a typical Nofap, but definitely there is less laziness in that state, due to more life force energy being preserved, which stems from Taoist teaching/ tantric yoga teachings, and more esoteric branches. Yes, not an immediate chick magnet, plus the person doing Nofap or semen retention, while in that state, still has to be at social places and interact with people in general, chicks included, to let that energy glow out to other people obviously. Of course, you're not 10x horny all the time, horniness is emotion, like any other emotions it comes and goes in various degrees. Being in Nofap/semen retention states exposes you to higher ranges of horniness that can be transferred to other methods, like meditating, studying, fitness and so on. Emotion is comprised of a set of feelings, for example anger is an emotion, which consists of higher muscle tension, facial tension like clenched teeth and furrowed brows, eyes starring at eye or slightly on the forehead, slight increase in heart rate, pump, shorter faster breathing, and so on. Horniness consists of feelings like a boner, increased heart rate and pump, shorter breathing, slight goose bumps, pleasant muscle tensions, eyes leering to areas of sexual interest for a second longer, face chill, overall similar to anger and excitement. Combine that with thought stories associated with emotions, and that gives you the state, which changes your behavior. Yes, there is some correlation with increase in confidence while being in the semen retention/Nofap state, as like you've stated before, there's far more life force energy being preserved. Confidence comes from having a pool of past experiences, or thought stories of empowerment, and being in more active states of consciousness that produces the emotion confidence, which is comprised of feelings like longer eye contact, wider smiling, more expressive face, loose neck and shoulders, squared to person you are engaging, loose expressive hands and arms, more upright and open postures that take up slightly more space, feet are also as squared as the shoulders or slightly wider while standing and sitting, no crossing of arms/legs in general, and having thoughts about believing you can achieve the desired outcome/process, as you've done this lots of times. You see, you can't feel confidence as strongly when you are coming more from more insecurity , a lack of believing you can, disempowering thoughts. Nofap/semen retention sort of forces you into a state of abundance, which generally helps you tap into what it might feel like when you're more confident. Yes, just like horniness, confidence too can come in various degrees. And yes, social skills can skyrocket, provided you go to those social situations in a state of Nofap, and be social in that state. obviously if you don't follow up, you won't be automatically socially skillful. Just today, and few days ago, I did lots of voice exercises and being social, and it feels pretty good, much better than if I had to exercise or be social when I nutted myself too much in the past.

@Kshantivadin Yes, some spiritual masters do semen retention, which to me is way more difficult than a typical Nofap abstinence plan, which commonly ends when the addicted individual stops masturbating to porn mags/videos/erotica/material compulsively, and instead have sex with women, enidng the person's single statues and maybe insecurities. From only doing Nofap and abstaining a few days to a week, to semen retention for years with spiritual practices, there are degrees of difficulty.

This is an interesting story about how Nofap effected this guy. Notice how it effected his health and dating situation: While we are joking around about Nofap, there does seem to be some truth to the experiences.

@Farnaby I was mostly referring to the 1-3 percent of people who have incredible addictions that develop into compulsive disorders, at which point chemical intervention should be considered. However, most people won't have such levels of addiction which can allow for conventional/unconventional methodologies of tackling and unwiring addictive behaviors with healthier ones. The main issue behind all addictions, from vanilla ones to severe, is that it depends on many factors and is relative to the development of the individual. When I was talking about will power and discipline as one of those factors that can be problematic, it can be the case because if you took an adult's level of discipline and will power, and compare that to a child's, there is a noticeable difference in will power and delaying gratification for a near future reward, real or imagined. Children have yet to develop the neo cortex enough to enforce a sense of self control, self discipline and power comparable to the selected adult. Of course, selection for the adult/child comparison can be biased as well, for example I could select an obese adult with an eating disorder, and a child who might have a different metabolism type, genetics for mental/emotional fitness or eugenics that favors slightly faster development of will power due to the parent's/family lineage's slightly more developed traits for discipline from surviving their past environments, of which I'm not fully aware.
-
@Farnaby Yes, and some people have severely strong addictions they need some chemical help for much longer, as they lack the necessary level of will power, discipline, focus, mental stability and emotional fitness to go thoroughly with quitting the addiction at it's root.

@Gabith That's good, channel that energy into whatever you're passionate about, in your hobby ect. That's also the state you need to put yourself in when doing pick up. It's a good feeling when you find yourself holding eye contact more while conversing.

@Fleetinglife I'm not describing all of BLM peaceful protestors as degenerates. I'm specifically calling out the few that take advantage of the political climate to commit arson, vandalize property, damage property enough to interfere with the livelihood of the business owner/employees, terrorize and disrupt passer bys, assault employees/business owners for defending their property as degenerates. I could go on and give more specific negative labels, but degenerates will have to do. Also, I don't support Rittenhouse's decision to put himself in harms way intentionally, as he isn't related to the people who have their properties destroyed. Both Rittenhouse and the three that gave chase are fools. -
This video is also another example of how dangerous social media addiction can get, from both sides:

@spiritual memes progress on your end? I've felt that spike in energy and hit the gym hard, and meditated long.

This is such a messy problem I don't know where to begin to untangle the complexity of it. On the one hand Rittenhouse had no business being in the area, so he's at fault specifically for putting himself in harm's way knowingly, but on the other hand the three BLM degenerates that chose to assault a kid with the assault rifle, one with a gun and the other with a skateboard, that have participated in damaging properties, who where part of the group that attacked an old man, they are at fault too. -

Update: I went down town yesterday, and I felt a pull from Crysty towards one of the art stores. I ended up buying some new art supplies today, some calligraphy pens and duel nib brush pens. I've been testing some of them out today, and while I was meditating I see Crysty trying out a few herself, and I observed her draw. -
@Cykaaaa He might be, to some degree. What's worse is how he reinforces this by making money from his YouTube content, affiliates, selling mercs around poking fun at obesity. Add to that attention seeking, negative/positive attention from fans and viewers, and it worsens whatever he had to begin with. Nice violin skills, but apparently his lack of vision, discipline, ability to motivate and get out of that regression, was not enough.
-
@LSD-Rumi The greatest ego backlash I've ever seen so far, in both intensity and persistence. So much to unpack here from a spiral dynamics view in terms of regression, and ego development view, and how exploitative the digital echo chamber can be if one doesn't have/develop sufficient self awareness. I'm more in agreement with what coach Greg says here, Nikocado Avocado's takes are a garbage influence on people trying to work on their health and lose weight. https://youtu.be/uOwmtN1YTuo
-
@Rilles Probably the beauty in this situation is that it serves as a warning that, no matter what, value your health and don't ruin your body. Kind of like a negative motivation of what not to become, and work not to be.
-
@spiritual memes I'm in, and that includes December too. When I don't nut too often, I have way more energy, confidence, self control, willpower, motivation, increase in thought, better mood overall, and aggressive energy. While I'm still youngish, similar to some people here, I'm not too interested in women, nor do I make them top priority. Quality of mind and body, finding and working my passion is top priority. No fap, in this context, is a very useful resource to use if you have a direction to channel that sexual energy towards. Some examples from me include punching 300 pound bags, bending iron rods, reading books, thinking more slowly, visualizing more in 3d, feeling emotionally fit, feeling more mentally fit.
-
The main issue is not that 'follow your passion' is wrong, but that Cal Newport is hitting the zone of excellence/zone of genius fallacy, in that he believes that passion is firstly developed only after through taking many actions in that field, making mistakes, learning from mistakes, practice a lot correctly, and gaining some success in that field of interest, and not that passion is innate to each unique individual and that passion firstly is the driving force of the craftsmanship in the first place. I think his main gripe is on people who follow their passion without enough infrastructure in facilitating that change of job/career, and not enough training.

While it might be inspirational to be doing self experimentation, it has a lot of downsides practically speaking, and unknown variables that could go wrong. This scientist might be on a lucky streak, but at any moment it could go south so quick. -
Oh alright thanks guys. I just found the article about the video covered. Really hate how some videos are not available internationally.

I can't access the latest blog video because it's blocked in my country. Can someone tell me the title of the video? thanks.

On a side note, when he's able to pull this off, it saves me the time to explain what I can see when I visualize people and locations. -

@Tim R This is why we need a stronger government to keep the richer business companies more accountable.
